[Kovu kind of feels sorry for his roommate right about now. Kovu's been growling and snarling the whole day, and by now the former lion is getting really frustrated. He can talk just fine, but he knows he's not saying anything anyone else is going to understand. Lion speech isn't exactly intelligible to someone who only knows human languages. What's worse, Kovu can't understand anything that anyone else is trying to say to him.

Lopmon's been trying to keep him calm the whole time, but it's not going so well. When the feed clicks on, Kovu looks like he's about to throw the D-terminal out the window. Lopmon cringes as Kovu just flat out roars - pretty much in his ear, no less - and then turns to the camera.]

Please tell me there's someone out there who can understand lion. I think Kovu's gonna go crazy if I'm the only one he can talk to.

[What follows will sound to almost everyone like any other big cat noises, but anyone who actually has some feline heritage will be able to understand what Kovu's saying.]

"Crazy" isn't even close.

[The little fur on her ears sticks up and her tail lashes in the background.]

[She sticks her nose up in the air.]

[Lopmon claps both paws over his mouth, so he doesn't burst out laughing.]

Yes! I'm not going to let you insult the way I sound. And stop laughing Lopmon!

[thescaronhisface]

[Instantly Lopmon shuts up, though another snort or two make their way out.]

Fine, fine. I'm sorry, okay?

[notmyprophecy]

Thank you. [Hollyleaf he doesn't mean it...

Whatever, she huffs a little.] I guess since we're both felines, our languages are similar.

Yeah, I guess. You just sound so tiny. How big were you, anyway?

[notmyprophecy]

Much smaller than any human. Smaller than Veemon.

[thescaronhisface]

No wonder you sound like a cub. I'm way smaller now than I was.

That why you almost broke Beastboy's jaw when you hit him?

[Kovu just stares at Lopmon for a second, and the Digimon breaks eye contact a bit sheepishly.]

You kept your lion strength? That's interesting...what about your senses?

Not much of it. He probably wouldn't've been able to talk if I had. But I can still smell and hear better than most of the humans, I think.

[notmyprophecy]

I still can't...or maybe I just need to find a different way to tap into it. When everything when dark, my eyes adjusted much quicker than Veemon's, or my roommates'.

[thescaronhisface]

[Kovu shrugs.]

I guess I just got lucky. I didn't go out when it got dark, but I could still see a little.

I did keep my ears and tail...and my hands, they're a lot... [She turns them over; it might be hard to tell, but her palms definitely appear rough.] Humans I've met have soft, squishy pads, er, palms. Mine aren't as much. We resemble what we really are in different ways, then.

Yeah. I don't look anything like I used to, except my mane, I guess.

Why is that? Why make us this way in the first place? I still haven't figured that out.

Who knows? Maybe the digital stuff doesn't work if you're not human.
