[Kovu kind of feels sorry for his roommate right about now. Kovu's been growling and snarling the whole day, and by now the former lion is getting really frustrated. He can talk just fine, but he knows he's not saying anything anyone else is going to understand. Lion speech isn't exactly intelligible to someone who only knows human languages. What's worse, Kovu can't understand anything that anyone else is trying to say to him.

Lopmon's been trying to keep him calm the whole time, but it's not going so well. When the feed clicks on, Kovu looks like he's about to throw the D-terminal out the window. Lopmon cringes as Kovu just flat out roars - pretty much in his ear, no less - and then turns to the camera.]

Please tell me there's someone out there who can understand lion. I think Kovu's gonna go crazy if I'm the only one he can talk to.

[What follows will sound to almost everyone like any other big cat noises, but anyone who actually has some feline heritage will be able to understand what Kovu's saying.]

"Crazy" isn't even close.

I still can't...or maybe I just need to find a different way to tap into it. When everything when dark, my eyes adjusted much quicker than Veemon's, or my roommates'.

I guess I just got lucky. I didn't go out when it got dark, but I could still see a little.

I did keep my ears and tail...and my hands, they're a lot... [She turns them over; it might be hard to tell, but her palms definitely appear rough.] Humans I've met have soft, squishy pads, er, palms. Mine aren't as much. We resemble what we really are in different ways, then.

Yeah. I don't look anything like I used to, except my mane, I guess.

Why is that? Why make us this way in the first place? I still haven't figured that out.

Who knows? Maybe the digital stuff doesn't work if you're not human.

That's ridiculous still. Why are humans so much better than anything else?

[Kovu shrugs.]

Whatever, I just hope this ends soon. It's hard to talk with my roommates.

[Lopmon folds his arms and grumbles.]

[Kovu grins, then yanks his partner into a noogie.]

AGH! NO! Cut it out!!!

[Lopmon squirms and wriggles and flails, trying to get out of his partner's strong grip.]

[She giggles lightly.] I guess you're getting used to the idea.

[Lopmon finally shoves himself away from Kovu, and is pouting furiously.]

You know, he's kinda cute like that.

Maybe it took only being able to talk to him to form a bond?
