Hello, I know that I have not yet gotten to know many of you all that well, but I wanted to check and make sure everyone is recovering well from that fight. It's been a little bit so hopefully things are sorting out, but if you are in need of help, I am willing to assist people where I can.

I also wanted to introduce my new partner, who I have named Sungura.

digivolution. Nala felt that my digivolution to Piddomon was a chance for her to see something more of me, to name me by. I hope you will all do your best to remember the name change, though I won't take offense to being called Hala by mistake.

[Malaika takes not at Strabimon's statement, even as Nala looked unsure, a little worried as she glanced between her partners.]

No, we aren't, but being given names doesn't make us pets, it makes us equals and partners, at least for us. It may not be something you like, but Sungura and I like it.

[Strabimon sneers.]

Sure. But you better not pick a name for me, Kovu. If I'm gonna be called something I'm gonna say what it is.

[Kovu just rolls his eyes. Considering what his name actually means, he'd just as soon leave his partners without any.]

Whatever, Strabimon.

I don't think you have much to worry about on that Starabimon... Kovu seemed hardly impressed by the fact that I had given names to my own, it doesn't sound like he has interest in trying to name you, especially against your wishes.

Though he could call you Sourface... that would be a fitting name.

Sungura! That was uncalled for.

I'm sorry for that Starabimon, Kovu... I don't know what got into her with that.

[Kovu can't help but snicker at Sungara, earning him a glare from Strabimon.]

[Kovu's stomach does a backflip, and that grin fades in an instant.]

[And then she said the wrong thing with him, again. She felt like she needed a map of all the subjects to avoid.]

Sorry... just, forget I said anything.

[She looked away from the camera and sighed, the statement made a little terse but not outright rude.]

[Kovu gives a derisive, single laugh.]

You sound like me.

[She kept looking away from the camera, a hand coming up to pet Malaika as her expression stayed soft but less than happy, or amused.]

What am I supposed to say then? I try to congratulate you for something that I've been told is an important thing here, and you... go cold and distant. I don't know how to talk to you, but I'm trying. If it's easier for you to just forget when I say things that leave you unhappy then why not do that. It's not like I haven't learned not to talk about that again.

What would you think if the Crest you got is the one thing you never had? Would you be happy?

Just because it isn't something that you don't have in yourself... doesn't mean it isn't something you give to others.

[Nala knew she was right in this, she had seen the way the lionesses of the Outlander pride softened and remembered what it was to hope, seeing the possibility that Kiara and Kovu offered, of being one.]

Hope is strange... even when you think it's all gone, something can happen and then it's there... like it had never been gone at all. But it can't come from nothing... you may not see hope as something you have, but I doubt you have lost all hope.

[A dark look casts a shadow over Kovu's features, before he reaches out to turn off the D-terminal with a sigh.

Somehow, coming from Nala, it just sounds like she's accusing him of something. Maybe because she was the only one who stayed out of things in the Pride Lands while he was there. He knows she isn't wrong, because Lopmon digivolved again right after he got the Crest, but...it feels wrong anyway.]

[She can recognize how this is going and it hurts, at least as much as it had every other time she had failed to connect with him. She hadn't become the hunter she was by doing things that hurt over and over, and yet here she was doing so now. Even for Kiara's sake, she couldn't do this any more, she was getting tired of trying.]

Fine, go. I'm done trying. I've done my turn reaching for a lion who had lost faith in who he was, I'm done. I know there is someone worth knowing there, but every time i try to reach him I get shut out, so I'm done trying.

[Her voice was heavy with hurt and sadness. It hurt just to say, but she couldn't keep trying without any success. If a hunting style didn't bring in food you tried something else, it made no sense to keep trying something that kept failing.]
