I don't think you are unable to do something, but I don't think it would have helped any of those involved. Mikey has been burdened by the thought of all those who have been injured being his fault for not stopping this person. The person in question still remembers everything that happened and is very upset at having hurt so many people. And I doubt Fluttershy would have been helped to know a good friend of hers was hurt, possibly very badly, for her sake.
