03 - video;
[The video starts with a very shaky shot of one of the buildings in San Fransisco. There are sounds of growling and shouting in the background before the camera pans to an XV-mon and a Gabumon glaring, stomping, and shaking their fists at each other.]
Oh, calm down, fuzzball! I was just telling it like it is.
You liar! I'm not a fake Digimon. I'm real, and you can't take my partner away from me! I'll battle you to the death if I have to!
[Said Gabumon leaps at the XV-mon's chest, only for her to swat him away with a chuckle. The image then turns to a very exasperated looking Replica, who rubs at his temple before speaking.]
Ugh, now I'm starting to know how Real Thing felt. Has anyone else had problems with their SCOPE partners? XV-mon's kept having to beat him back for hours, and he still keeps getting back up. It's like looking into some kind of fun house mirror, and I don't know how to get him to relax.
[There's the sound of a scream, followed by a WHAM. Seems the fighting's picked up a little bit, much to the Replica's chagrin.]
...And while we're at it, has anyone made it to HospiTown yet? I'm fine with scoping out these new islands, but I'd like to at least see where this new town is before I get too carried away.

So, wait. Did you and your partner just show up? I haven't seen you around the network before, but if you were around when the city blew up, you've gotta tell me how you beat us to it.
[But then again, Sora's insisted on exploring the terrain, so maybe that's why it's taken so long.]
And I could feed them, but I'm kind of scared to try feeding Kotemon while she's so huge. She could probably scarf down an entire building and still have room for more.
no subject
"Yep! Just earlier today, so we didn't get to beat you here, though we're here ahead of you anyway."
[That's slightly different than beating them in a footrace. Kind of cheating, but the dorumon looks pleased about it anyway. He and Terra got there first! Or well, before this guy anyway, so that was something.]
"..Oh yeah, that's a good point."
[He sits, looking as thoughtful as a fuzzy purple dragon can.]
"Is she all grown up now or will she de-digivolve? Maybe just separate them for a while, and feed your new partner with her elsewhere, unless she gets smaller. If he's too stuffed to respond if she's heckling, maybe it'll work itself out better."
no subject
[He's rubbing at his brow, grumbling to himself.]
Well, I guess the upside's that we get to see all the sights. Still, you'd think they'd set us up on this San Francisco island. It's got more than enough space to go around.
[But other than some wild Digimon, it is fairly abandoned.]
Anyway, Kotemon's just holding that form while we travel. She could switch back at any time, but I kinda doubt she'd want to devolve with that fuzzball on her case.
[Still, by this point, he's at least managed to pull Gabumon away for the time being.]
So where is your partner?
no subject
[It's something of a bright spot, surely. The dorumon seems reasonably certain of this at any rate, and pleased with himself at pointing it out.
That the replica's Kotemon is not cooperating at all draws what comes across as a frown, by the way his head tilts and ears set back at a certain angle. It just conveys frown.]
"That sounds really troublesome. I'm not sure what else to suggest, unless reminding them who's boss would help."
[But that would be a human tackling digimon and that just never went well, did it. The dorumon perks back up at mention of his partner, glancing around.]
"Oh, he's .. over there."
[He grabs the camera in his mouth (enjoy the view of tonsils) for a few moments, instead of using his forepaws to turn the thing in the right direction. when it's spat back out, Terra can be seen right where he's been for some hours, keyblade at his side, working on what is probably a meal.]
"Say hello!"
[This only draws a briefly amused look and a wave - Terra's a bit far away to be easily heard.]
no subject
[The D-Terminal clatters out of the Replica's hands, and he stares, paralyzed for several seconds. That brown hair, that tall, muscular build... It's so--
And you will find me, friend. No ocean will--
He grasps his head with one of his hands, cringing. That... that's right. Riku met that guy, didn't he? Made some kind of promise not to tell anyone about it. Something about a Keyblade...
And yet, that was Real Thing's promise. Not his. Never his. All the same...]
...I know who he is. Somewhere in my memories, I know that face.
no subject
And though the replica isn't the dorumon's partner, but that reaction draws alarm and concern anyway, a white nose pushing up against the screen until all that can be seen is fine fur.]
"Are you okay? What happened?"
[Surely if something really bad happened, the replica's own partners would help out! But that didn't help much when all the dorumon had was a tiny little window into wherever the silver-haired boy was. It wasn't enough! There's the grating grind of claws on pebbly soil, as if it was possible to dig right through the ground to find the boy and see what's going on himself in person.
But then there's a further response and by degrees, the dorumon relaxes. Oh, that's not bad. He's never seen someone rememebr something in quite that fashion before but ...]
"Oh. Oh, well that's good isn't it? He's been very worried about his friends. He doesn't say so but I can tell." [What digimon wasn't at least partly aware of their partner's moods and feelings?] "I'm sure he'll be happy to know you're alright!"
[There's a pause. On the other hand, it was 'somewhere in my memories', so maybe they met a long time ago. He rocks onto one leg and gives his ear a thoughtful scratch with the other. Hmm.]
"His name's Terra. Did you meet a long time ago? Are you friends? ..But if it hurts to try to remember maybe you shouldn't try."
no subject
But Terra... so that's his name, huh? And this guy's asking if he knew him and if they're friend. At first, the Replica starts to say "Yes," but he stops himself before he can get out more than the Y sound.
Darn it. He's trying not to be Riku!]
...Well, the real Riku met him. I wasn't even alive back then.
no subject
"Oh." [It's the sound of not actually getting it.] "Well, you can be his friend too if you want, I'm sure. He's not a bad person, he's just quiet a lot of the time."
[This real thing was confusing. It sounded important.]
"Especially since you're alive now and remember him anyway! It might be fun. I'm sure I can convince him to stay in HospiTown longer, though he really wants to see a meat bush, he doesn't believe they're real."
no subject
[The Replica runs a hand through his hair, a tiny frown lining his lips. His voice lacks the firmness from before; it's softer, wavering ever so slightly, as if he's nervous.]
I mean, I'm not against that kind of thing, but I'm not even the right guy. Wouldn't want to give him the wrong idea.
no subject
[What a strange question. Did this boy do something awful to Terra before they parted ways or something? He didn't really understand the problem, especially when 'not the right guy' comes into play.
It just didn't make sense.]
"Unless you did something bad to him and left a bad impression.." [The dorumon eyes the replica's image thoughtfully.] "Then I really don't think there would be wrong-idea getting, even. If you remember him from a long time ago, then it's even less likely. You humans don't stay the same looking as years pass, he might not recognize you at all."
no subject
[He shakes his head, visibly relaxing.]
But at the same time, it's kind of hard to ignore hair like this.
[To emphasize his point, he points a finger at his noggin.]
Silver's not exactly common. Not even around here.
no subject
Maybe by his own partners during the ruckus they're making.]
"Well...alright, if you say so. I don't see a lot of humans with gray fur but I also haven't really been looking. If you're worried about it, I can tell him about all of this, but I don't think there's going to be a problem."
[He will anyway, because it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. How can someone have someone else's memories?]
no subject
[He breaths out through his nose, shooting a glance at his Digimon briefly.]
Just tell him to look out for me and a guy with spiky, brown hair. We're traveling with some dragons and a fox, so we kind of stick out.
no subject
[And then some of this would actually make sense soon! Which keeps the dorumon interested. He'll pass it all on, of course; Terra would want to know! And maybe then he can get some names about these boys!
One yellow eye peers closer again, carefully taking note of what he can see of the replica. Okay, a guy like this.. and someone with brown hair like Terra's.. and some dragonlike digimon and probably a renamon.]
"We'll keep an eye out then. ..Um, good luck with your partners until then."
