Is the future for other worlds predetermined? Is it for the Digital World or the Real?

Does knowing what happens, mean it will now always happen?

If you meet someone from your future, does that mean you can't change it any more, since it's their past, and the past can't be changed? If changing your future to help you, might hurt other people and their past, or maybe even remove entire people from existing, do you have the right to try to change anything at all?

Woah.

Getting a little heavy there with the choice of discussion topics.

What brought this on?

O.k.

Well, I think people make their own destines or whatever. Nothing is predetermined, not if we have the power to keep fighting and can change it.

Maybe I'm just stubborn though.

But how do you know it will ruin it? What if you can make it better if you have the knowledge to? I can't speak from experience on that one, cause I haven't met anyone from my past or future. But you can't just roll over and call it quits just because someone says to.

There's a theory that goes about that time is a pretty fluid thing, but that might be more in-depth than you're looking for.

The way I look at it, you can't know the future, really KNOW the future. You can plan all you want but in the end, things are just going to happen the way they want? You have to learn to roll with the punches, readjust, and keep moving along.

As for whether you have the "right" or not... I don't think we can know that either. Even if someone says your future *will* be this way, it's such a big mystery. You don't know what your actions will *ever* do, but so long as you have good intentions in mind for yourself or others, things will work out.
beingthecreature: (☼ You got it figured out?)

That still doesn't mean it's set in stone. The future is very much affected by the actions we take, and I still believe that we can't totally know it, even if someone is telling us what it's going to be like. That's just one possibility of many.

[Vanguard to the rescue with answers!

... Only not really.]

Oh no. Not time shenanigans.

You're just asking for a headache with those questions.

beingthecreature: (☼ Aha yeah I guess so...)

There's a chance it wouldn't happen though. There's a saying that goes 'A person often meets his destiny on the road he took to avoid it.' What it means is that we can't *choose* where things go, nothing is on a predetermined course.

Even if we think we know what'll happen, we can be wrong. All we can really do is keep going as we are. Like I said though, we *can* do our best to make the future alright; an honest try goes a long way.

You're going to break your brain over these questions whether I help you or not, aren't you?

Fiiiine. We'll play detectives, if only to keep your bum free of teeth.

[Vanguard you smarmy little thing. Don't lie. You love this detective stuff.]

So... let's start with what we know.

I'm guessing all this came up because of the different timelines our Chosen get pulled from?

[Luckily, Vanguard has little idea of whether or not he's talking to a digimon or a Chosen, let alone Dorumon himself. Sorry, Dorumon- 'our Chosen' is just a minor possessive habit.]

Woa woa. So... just for clarification. You're saying B's PAST may never happen, or B may never happen? Cause that's what it sounds like you're saying.

I'm not saying that.

Life isn't a black or white thing and I think you're thinking in extremes here. Life is made up of small, tiny choices that can affect the bigger picture.

Or, maybe I just don't get it.
beingthecreature: (☼ Are you 'squidding' me bro?)

[personal profile] beingthecreature 2014-02-11 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I can understand why that would be...

I hope it doesn't sound too pithy, but keep your chin up? Whatever may- or may not -happen is on hold so long as you're here, as far as I've been able to figure out. That can hopefully give you time to stand back and look at things objectively, think about what to do and how it might go on going back.

I think it'll be alright.

Woah, woah. That's a lot of ifs there, buddy.

This future A's trying to get better be worth it. I mean, you take the best and the worst, and you're basically choosing between "things get better" and "this guy or gal doesn't exist anymore".

You'd better make it a heck of a future if you're betting somebody's life.
