More they compliment our personalities. Or at least mine seem to. I mean I haven't seen some shy kid paired up with some digimon who really enjoys making splash.

I wouldn't say duty-sworn. At least mine haven't said it's their duty, but they certainly want to be as much use and help to me as possible.
Admittedly, the fact they actually are useful is a change from what I'm used to.
