[There is a young man in an eyepatch, and loose green clothing sitting on a phone booth. Right up on top of it. His knees pulled up to his chest. It's pretty weird to see a guy up on a phone booth. But, hey, maybe he has a good reason for it.]

[Someone's talking to him, but they're off-camera. He looks like he's trying to figure out how to work this thing, while they're talking.]

-- It's really okay. No one's going to hurt you if you come down.

[The skittish-looking guy glances down, over the edge of the phone booth. There's a flash of something dark, and concerned-looking, as he ends up angling his device thing for a better look.]

[He shakes his head.]

But you can't sleep up there...

[A little shrug.]

It doesn't matter. I'm here to fight, so I can go home.

You don't know how long that's going to take. Please come down.

No.

[And that seems like all he's going to say. Until he actually looks at what he's recording, anyway.]

[There's a brief glance to Keramon for a moment, giving a slight shrug. Yeah, sorry bro, you're kind of creepy.]

So? Not like this world lets you pick an axe or anything. Your weapon is monster. Congrats.

[You looks over to Keramon for a moment, mouthing (as best as a sheep can) an 'I'm sorry'. She knows Wheeljack's just trying to prove a point.]

But there isn't anything to attack, either. What's the point in trying to demonstrate what I can do if there isn't anything to demonstrate on?

[The little guy sort of wants to disappear into the ground right now. Even the mini-sheep peptalk just earns a shrug. 8( this is the opposite of what the hell muppet wanted.]

... Why not? There are always weapons.

Human beings always have ways to attack each other. And other things.

You're not -fightin'- other humans, kid.

[He hops off of You, heading over to the Keramon and crouching down.]

Wasn't meant as a bad thing, chief. Be proud of what ya are.

[Wait...where's You's little pep talk? D8< The Sheep looks insanely jealous right now.]

[If the hell muppet'll let him, he's going to pick it up, walking back over to the phone booth front. His foot loops onto You's horn again, hoisting them both up.]

You're battling other guys like this, and only ones not owned by one of us. And only these guys can hurt em. Rule of this place? Treat weapon good, get better weapon.

[He shakes his head sharply.]

I'm not human. This isn't me. I'm not -- this isn't who I am!

[And that's incredibly upsetting. He's not who he should be. He's not who he was made to be. He's different than...]

[Meanwhile. The hell muppet perks up a bit. It even nods, its big eyes even bigger. Oh wow, really? It should be proud?]

[Yes, it lets itself be picked up, wobbling a little, but wrapping its... legs... around Wheeljack's hand for balance.]

[Kagerou hasn't budged.]

Why.

Why not shoot them. That's what human beings are good at.

[His voice lowers, obviously not too happy about being a squishy either. Yeah, it's been a rollercoaster.

He sets the Keramon on the opposite end of the phone booth, leaning back slightly.]

Well one, good luck findin' a gun. And two, you can't hurt these things. Not effectively.

[Well that gets a reaction out of him, if nothing else has. He sort of looks like Wheeljack punched him, or something.]

... But. You're... What are you...?

[The muppet waits, watching Kagerou with its huge eyes. Finally, he glances in its direction. OH. OH WOW. IS THIS THE MOMENT IT WAS WAITING FOR...? Are they going to be friends now--]

Have you tried? They don't look strong.

[... or not. He's not even looking at the poor thing anymore.]

There are plenty of these creatures around. Take your pick.

...Why..are you sitting on that thing?

I think the better question is how he got up there.

It's off the ground.

[Because that makes total sense.]

He climbed up...

Aren't they your pets...?

..Is the ground trying to eat you or something?

Smokescreen the ground doesn't eat people!

[The poor little hell muppet creature can be seen, just over the edge of the phone booth, still looking concerned.]

Please don't tell him that. I don't think it's going to help...

[Smokescreen frowns a bit in confusion.]

So you like being high up? I guess that's not too weird but...um, I think your..friend thing is just trying to look out for you.

[Trion sighs and gives the hell muppet an apologetic look.]

Smokescreen isn't trying to be insulting, I promise.

Yes. It's out of reach.

[He shakes his head, sharply, when Smokescreen mentions his... friend.]

It's not my friend. I don't want it.

[And wow if that doesn't make the poor thing seem to deflate where it stands. Trion gets a little half smile though.]

It's okay.

[Oh, Trion is not okay with that, Kagerou. She glares, wings on her hips after she makes Smokescreen tilt the camera towards her.]

Now you listen! That is no way to talk about your digimon partner! We're here to help you and the other digidestined! Acting like you are isn't helping anyone and is making your partner sad!

..She..kind of has a point.

Cybertronian. Giant robot. Car. Whichever of these sounds familiar to you, take your pick.

[He watches Keramon get his hopes up, and...kid, no. This one's gonna be a toughie.]

Believe it or not, I have. See the sheep down there? Not normally a sheep.

[And, as if to prove that point, You transforms back into her Gazimon self, scampering up the phone booth. Unfortunately, Wheeljack was STANDING ON YOU, IDIOT--no wait she probably planned that.

Wheeljack falls rather unceremoniously.]

...oops.

[Well at least he's not about to jump off the ledge anymore. He still looks pretty damn wary, but less likely to go charging off into the proverbial sunset.]

[And that's the first sheep he's ever seen so. You've got him there, Wheeljack.]

It transforms...?

[ -- yes. Yes it does.]

[Both he and his hell muppet peek over the edge of the phone booth at that, in unintentional unison.]

Are you dead?

He's not dead.

I didn't ask to have it. I didn't ask to be here. Why do I have to accept it?

[The little guy has no idea what to say to this. It just stays quiet, looking back and forth.]

My partner...

I don't have a partner.

Only this one.

And we aren't pets. We're partners.

... Partners.

I don't want it as a "partner."
