Mission 5: Renewed memories and rusted bonds.

*Dante is strangely absent from this video, but Coronamon appears to be sitting on the floor next to a bed. His tail is curled onto his lap and he seems to have been crying. In fact, he still hasn't gotten his sobs fully under control by the time he starts recording.*

Since...since a lot of you know Dante and are friends with him... *Sniff.* I should probably tell you. He's- *Gulp.* He's de- *Choke.* he's gone. It was...I think it was an accident, but... *Sniffle.* Humans don't turn into eggs, do they?

Dante!

*As soon as Dante sits up, Coronamon leaps out of Squall's arms and tackles Dante. The half demon Chosen barely manages to keep from being knocked onto his back as he catches his partner and starts petting him on the back of the head.*

Woah there, kid. Calm down or ya might knock me right back out!

*He looks to Squall with half a smile.*

Thanks for lookin' after him.

And hey Vergil! You didn't go an pass out on the floor, did ya?

You have got to be kidding me.

Maya, calm down.

[Maya huffs.] I'm eating all his food and I'm not buying him more when he comes back. Jerks who die don't deserve ice cream.

[ How did Laguna actually manage to find himself here? Squall would be impressed if he wasn't so annoyed right now. ]

Do you seriously go running off into every "adventure" you see?

[Laguna had been against the wall talking with Squall and Coronamon when he literally saw the dead rise...not only rise, but start talking as if nothing had been wrong. He'd seen a lot of things in his life, a lot of strange things, a lot of things that defied explanation...but this was pushing it. He could only stand there in mild shock as he watched the little Moombamon run over to his partner and almost tackle him...the sight giving him enough pause to smile]

Well...I'll be, miracles do happen.

Dante's...I'm so sorry to hear that.

Is there someone with you right now?

But I thought humans didn't get better when they died?

His brother is. A-and Squall's coming.

*Sniiiiiiiif.*

[Laguna paused in his tracks and sighed...he hadn't run here because he thought there was an adventure; he came here because a Moomba said there was trouble]

I don't really think this counts as an adventure, from what I heard someone was...well...

[He stopped mid-sentence as he caught sight of Coronamon still looking visibly upset; he could feel his heart melting at the sight. With another short sigh, he walked over and knelt in front of the Moomba-esque creature, doing his best to look friendly]

Hey there little guy, you holdin up okay?

You wish.

[ such a disgusting display. Vergil doesn't move from his spot. not when he responds. though... he is relieved. to know that Dante is alright after all lifts a weight off of his shoulders.

what he does, do, though? when he does stand, it's to make an exist. but not before depositing that amulet next to his brother.

this room is too crowded. ]

[You got Hyokomon. Maya's raiding the fridge, sorry.]

Her boyfriend was dead and he's here now. If Dante doesn't come back, though, you can come stay with us.

Did he...did he die here?

*Sounding a little hopeful...*

[ A tiny sliver of a smile appears for half a second when he sees the way Coronamon reacted. He... was okay. The loudmouth was alright... probably. He stayed silent for a long while as he watched Coronamo's actions and Dante's brother leaving the room. After being silent for so long he pushed himself off the wall and made his way over to the bed. His arms are folded across his chest.]

I did it for him, not you. Next time you do something stupid though, I'll do it myself.

[ He doubts Dante will take the threat seriously, but dammit he refuses to admit he was worried. ]

I've only recently returned and just met him. It's hard to believe this.

And hey, if you ever need anything, you can call me up anytime. My name's Saori.

No, it sounded like he was dead back home. I don't know, they don't talk about it. But if this world can back bring back a human, wouldn't you think it'd bring back Dante?

[Maya comes back in while Hyokomon's talking and sits down. She's got ice cream and a spoon.]

It had better bring him back.

*He picks up the amulet after Vergil leaves it, still using his other hand to comfort Coronamon, and runs his thumb over the gold side. He's sure Vergil noticed...it'd be hard not to. They'll have to have a talk...though it looks like that'll have to come later.*

Trust me, it ain't a miracle. Pretty sure God doesn't do guys like me any favors.

*No matter how good of a person he tries to be, he is, after all, still part demon.*

Squall, you manage to put me in the same shape Vergil did and I'll be amazed.

Do you really think it can help someone who got killed here? It didn't do anything when he was sick...

tch. Don't tempt me.

[ He turns his head to the side and moves back to the wall. He wasn't good at this kind of thing. He wasn't sappy, and he hated being touched. He had no clue how to actually show what he was thinking. ]

You owe Coronamon an apology.

[Laguna shook his head lightly and smiled as he made his way over to the kitchen area; popping the fridge open as he gazed inside. Being out for extended periods messed with your throat, made it all dry and scratchy...he could only assume after being legally dead for what he had heard was 6 hours would have left the poor man's throat feeling like a desert. All he could find was a few bottles of water, some beer, and even a little tomato juice...such a healthy diet he could already see.

With a sigh, he grabbed a beer and brought it over; using his gloved hand to pop the top as he handed it over to the white haired man]

Here, drink up, I'd imagine your throat feels about as bad as the rest of you.

*Sniffle.*

Dante called me Kid.

*Yes, beer. Lacking in functional Vital Stars, this is the next best thing. He pockets the amulet before taking the beer and draining half of it. Wow he needed that, especially with the blood caked in his throat. That taken care of, he looks down at his partner.*

Yeah, you're right about that. I ain't really good at this kinda thing, but...sorry for bein' a clumsy ass and getting myself stabbed again.

I was worried you wouldn't wake up...

Hey, you oughta know by now it's gonna take a hell of a lot more than getting run through to put me down for good.

The possibility isn't zero. [Maya shrugs.] I'm pretty sure more people than Cam came here after being dead, so I figure that if we're here for a reason and this world wants some of us here so badly it'll bring us back to life? Then accidentally dying isn't in the plans. So, you know. Have hope.

[ Squall shifts against the wall again and picks up his jacket from the floor. He tucks it under his arm and just shoves his hands into his pockets as he watches this awkward scene. Only awkward because Squall's mind was racing around as he drifted in and out of the conversation. ]

Do you think I should tell his brother?

[Well, wasn't this a touching scene; it might have even put a small tear in Laguna's eye though it was quickly wiped away. Whoever this was, he seemed like a nice enough person,; so Laguna extended his hand out in greeting for Dante to shake]

Well, any friend of Squall's is a friend of mine; the name's Laguna Loire, its nice to meetcha!

I don't know. His bother is the kind of jerk-y guy that showed up recently, right? He doesn't seem like he'd care that much.
