*Dante is strangely absent from this video, but Coronamon appears to be sitting on the floor next to a bed. His tail is curled onto his lap and he seems to have been crying. In fact, he still hasn't gotten his sobs fully under control by the time he starts recording.*

Since...since a lot of you know Dante and are friends with him... *Sniff.* I should probably tell you. He's- *Gulp.* He's de- *Choke.* he's gone. It was...I think it was an accident, but... *Sniffle.* Humans don't turn into eggs, do they?

I know you ain't stupid...you took the amulet, so I'm sure you noticed.

*He's not even mad over Vergil taking the amulet. As much as he wouldn't trust him with the whole thing, it is his right. They belong to the sons of Eva. And if one of them dies, it's only right that the other holds onto the half in his stead.*

[ thing is... Vergil is not quite sure he wishes to know. ]

Better than wondering and letting the what ifs get to ya, ain't it?

*He's not sure he wants to talk about it. But Vergil at least deserves to know how Dante got his amulet.*

There are really no "what ifs" about it. What will happen will and there is little to be done about it.

[ can't change it, right? ]

*He reaches up to finger the amulet still hanging out in the open. A bit of a nervous habit when he's upset or worried.*

[ oh Vergil is aware of his little tell. that worried... then there's really little reason to even guess now. ]

[ he's really not the best at comfort or anything. now Vergil even looks uncomfortable. ]

...Or maybe I just feel like I owe you an explanation for havin' what's yours or something.

I ain't a kicked puppy. I just... *He lets go of the amulet to run a hand through his bangs.* A lot's happened since your time, Verge. Stuff I wanted to pretend didn't happen, but that ain't working.

[ well then. there goes night. Dante is clearly distressed about all of this. while Vergil doesn't completely care about the mental state of Dante nor his emotional one... this effects him as well.

Vergil takes a seat in the chair next to the desk in his room. ]

I'm listening.

[ he's doing his best to sound irritated with it too. ]

*He steps inside and closes the door, then leans back against it.*

First off...you're planning on doin' something that's gonna run you up against Mundus, ain't ya.

[hellboundslayer]

Hmm? That thought wasn't even on my mind.

[ because running to one of the strongest demons head first without any preparation was not how he rolled... now if Mundus found him... well he couldn't run away. ]

Then I wonder how it is I ended up runnin' into you again right by where he hangs out in person.

Do you honestly think I am so neurotic that I would seek him out first thing?

First thing? Maybe not. Went ten years before I saw you again, so I ain't got a clue how long you went around messin' with other stuff.

I just know we ended up meeting again on Mundus' goddamn doorstep.

You are asking the wrong person for those answers. I cannot supply them just yet.

Now quit shifting around and get to it.

*He's toying with the amulet again.*

While we were there, you...ended up fighting a swordsman at your own level.

[hellboundslayer]

My patience is wearing thin.

[ get ON with it. ]

*He can't meet Vergil's eyes for this. Not just out of his own discomfort, but he doesn't want his brother to see the guilt in them.*

You lost...and even our level of regeneration wasn't enough to keep you alive.

[ he's quiet for the time being. dead. he's going to end up dying. by someone that's stronger than he.

and is that why Dante is a wreck? why there had been an almost overeager tone to his words and actions when he had appeared here? with the way that Dante is acting it's obvious he is hiding something. ]

Is that all?

[ while Vergil has mixed emotions and the like over this, nothing about his own inner turmoil bleeds into his voice. his expression is controlled and so is his body language. he is not about to give anything away from inattentiveness. ]

I paid Mundus back by kicking his ass.

That's everything that's important.

*Maybe he should tell Vergil the identity of his killer. His brother probably has the right to know and move forward from here with that in mind. But he doesn't want to admit it if he can get away without it.*

You're hiding something, Dante.

The identity of the guy who killed you might...be somewhat important in some ways.
