SECOND DEPLOYMENT - [backdated to late Monday]

To anyone who can hear this, this is Optimus Prime, leader of the Autobots.

Many of you are most likely afraid or without direction right now. My fellow Autobots would like to help, if we can.

We intend to establish a meet-up-point in the mountain areas to the south of the city. From there, we can go forward and find a way to challenge the enemies in the city itself. Those of you who would like to join in this effort, or would like to find a secure space to stay, please come to these coordinates.

I see.

In our world, cybertronians do not typically assume beast modes... save for the Insecticons, and the extinct descendents of one of the original thirteen Primes.

Well that's different.

In my world, Predacons are Decepticon descendants from after the end of the Great War. We have beast modes to blend in and protect ourselves better.

[She shrugs slightly.]

Without our beast modes, we would have been offlined by the energon storms ages ago. Besides, being a spider is a lot more interesting then say being a boat or a car or something.

I see. I take it these beast modes of yours have some method of organic shielding?

..I started out as a protoform. When my stasis pod crashed to Earth the scanners selected a black widow spider for my beast mode. I've been that ever since and I'd love to go back to being that way sometime soon.

I see. I understand how you feel. I too have become accustomed to my alternate mode over time. It becomes part of your identity, and changing it... feels very strange, at first.

The effect is doubled when one is... converted into a human, as we have been.

I'm getting that. I'm used to having claws, not hands.

[For starters. She has a lot to adjust to but at least she knew enough about how the biological things work that it wasn't so bad... just annoying.

I see. I seem to be struggling with the fact that I cannot travel more quickly by assuming vehicle mode.

It was not the most high performance vehicle, but it was... quicker than walking.

Try being used to eight legs and being able to climb walls. Lets not forget the fun defenses I had because I was a widow.

[It's probably the weaponry she's going to miss the most.]

... Perhaps we should see if Ratchet is willing to develop equipment that will allow us to compensate.

Ratchet constructed a planet-based spacebridge with nothing more than 20th century human technology.

I find it wise to never underestimate his technical prowess.
