Hey there gang!

So the lights are back on, boy was that fun huh?

[Eye roll]

So with that nasty dark area in the middle of town, I figure people probably wandered into it. Aside from that being both hilarious and horrific, I'm offering my services for people who need someone to talk to.

After all, I am a professional psychologist, and the only one in town.

As for those of you who already have standing appointments, I expect you on time after last week.

I was born into it, kind of. My family's had a magical bloodline for three generations. Which is...almost pitiful, compared to most.

Is that so? Lots of long lined families where you come from? Like legacy?

Magical society is mostly run by aristocratic families. It's all an archaic, backwards mess--kind of hard to explain in any detail.

Sounds like you think a little differently about all that huh? Not one to follow the crowd?

Yeah, I do--everyone's so obsessed with how powerful bloodline makes someone, but my theory is that effort has the potential to produce magi just as powerful as generations of one family geared towards producing skilled heirs.

A sound theory if I ever heard one.

I may not know much about magic, But I know humans. I know if humans want something bad enough? They can make it happen.

Everyone in the Clock Tower thinks it's completely absurd--obviosuly none of the aristocracy would ever want to listen--but this is the first time anyone's ever agreed with my theories.

Well like I said, I dunno about your world but this world has shown me that humans are pretty alike from one universe to the other.

And you know why humans are so great? Because we can adapt, evolve and change to fit any environment. We're stubborn enough to keep trying when people tell us something is impossible. We're foolish enough to chase our dreams!

And brave enough to dare to love.

So if anyone can shake up the status quo? It'd be someone like you.

So what sort of magic have you learned? Do you know alotta spells?

I'm an alchemist, mainly. Unfortunately I'm not much more than mediocre in most respects.

[She back to scribbling notes]

In the right hands though I bet alchemy can be a powerful tool hmm?

I guess so. It usually needs some kind of materials or preparation, so it's not all that applicable in a fight.

Lots of fights can be won by the right preparation. Just gotta think ahead!

Now, how have you adjusted to life since coming to this weirdo world? No Alchemy, no school. What do you do with yourself all day?

Well...it's kind of difficult to say. It isn't all that bad, not having to worry about the kind of things that come with being a magus on my level. No one's really looked down on me or things like that--everyone's been nice. It's a little weird.

The whole place is weird, to be sure. But it might not be too awful overall, as far as sudden and extreme circumstances go.

Mmhmm~ I can see where that might be strange.

Do you have friends? A job?

I work at a bookstore. It'd be nice if I could read half of what's there, but I don't speak Japanese very well. Friends, uh...I don't know. I have people I like talking to, and both my roommates are really nice. That counts, doesn't it?

You bet it does!

And what about your Digimon. What are they like?

Palmon's nice, too. She gets on my nerves once in a while, but I think she's trying to look out for me. And she's really tough, too--I'm not sure how many times Digimon can actually evolve, but she's done it a couple times now.

[She's nodding and scribbling away]

That's good to hear. More chosen should be so lucky.

Have you gotten into many fights with her? Situations where she had to evolve to protect you?

Uh...a couple, yeah. I don't really make a point of getting in trouble here, but it's happened.

Tell me about them.

The first time, we wandered a little too far from the group we were with and got in a fight with this giant sunflower thing. I'm reasonably certain it might have wanted to eat me or something. That was the first time she evolved into Wizardmon.

Just recently, while all this...everything was going on, we ran into this huge monster. I don't even think I can really describe it. [Waver shook his head, trying not to think too hard about Lucemon.] My crest did some weird thing, and Wizardmon turned into this...little fairy thing.

[Her eyes light up]

You've been here longer then I have, mind if I pick your brain for a moment?

I'm curious if the things our Digimon evolve into might you know...be connected to us. For example, you are a wizard. You got a Wizardmon. What do you think?

Honestly? I just thought it was a weird coincidence. But now that you mention it, I have been a little curious as to what causes specific Digimon to match up with certain people. It can't all be some matter of random chance, right?
