Flashlights come with batteries. Great thing about a phosphorus flare, is that it's just a chemical reaction. If they can use them on the moon, we could have probably used them here.

Anyway, crests are like. [Ryan pulls his crest out from his shirt and shows it off for the camera.] It's more like a medal of honor than a logo. Mine is the Crest of Light, hence it giving off light.

You know, all I'm really hearing is you trying to tell me flares aren't good enough. And boy does that show how little you know about flares.

Anyway, so far as I can tell you get a crest by being in mortal peril or being passionate. It's a toss-up, but I think mortal peril gets you a crest faster. Either way, if you're new they don't show up right away. I've been here more or less since the beginning and I only just got one.

Because they work in space, air and underwater that's why. And I've been here a week, of course I don't know how this place works.

Huh, sounds... Well sounds kind of like the military, purple hearts and all that. Do they do anything than glow?
