So, Optimus is always busy making sure the city is safe and all since the Blackout. Sure, whatever. If he wants to drive himself to exhaustion, that's no skin off my scales.

But I had a thought.

Optimus is basically the commander of all you "Autobot" guys, right?

And I'm his partner.

So that means... I'm in command of all the Autobots' digimon, aren't I?

You guys better fall in line! And start kissing up to me, I may take favor on you later!

[He pouts. Partners and Tamers are supposed to be teams, so why's he gotta ignore his? So strange...]

You could always protect him! And having an extra pair of eyes means you can see better.

[It's called teamwork, but Guilmon suspects this Monodramon isn't much of a team player.]

[Guilmon reels back, and his eyes widen. But why would his partner say that? Especially in such dangerous weather!

...Maybe he was like Impmon. He kept trying to do everything by himself, even when faced with dangerous odds.]

Well, sometimes people think they can do everything themselves. Maybe they're stubborn or maybe they want to get stronger, but that doesn't mean it's a good idea.

[He shakes his head.]

Guilmon's sure he's just trying to do what's right, but Digimon and their partners are supposed to help each other! I think sometimes that means following them even when they try to push you away.

[Ruki had a phase similar to that, after all, and that got her nowhere fast.]
