[Oh look it's Yu! The camera is close in on his face, and after a moment backs up. He's in a hallway, and Elecmon is probably holding the DT.]

Is it running?

I-i think so?

Okay, good I was wanting to ask if anyone has figured out this sudden language barri-!?

[He's cut off by yelling, also in Japanese, and suddenly Terriermon comes running by, dragging a stuffed dufflebag behind her. The yelling person comes into view shortly after: Neku, bright red and shrieking at his partner.]

DROP IT!

Aw come on Neku! I wanna see all your pretty clothes from home!

[Yu, slightly surprised by the interruption, reaches out and takes the bag away]

Is this your's, Sakuraba-kun?

[Neku turns even redder at being caught, and before he can respond Terriermon hops up and manages to drag something out of the open bag: a familiar black cap.]

Oh I like this one, come'er Elecmon!

Wh-what? I don't think

[The camera shifts, breaking away from Neku looking like he wants to strange Yu and instead to Elecmon and Terriermon, as the girl bunny puts the cap on the boy bunny's head, flattening down his ears.]

It's really cool looking on you!

Maybe we should stop them...?

[Behind them Yu and Neku are... 'talking'. Or more specifically Yu is discovering a cute lolita dress in the bag and looking right charmed by it... while Neku's head looks about to spin right off. He makes a lunge- only to be palm-stopped in the forehead by the much taller boy.]

I don't know... It's really cute. And obviously sized for you. You shouldn't be ashamed...

[Neku, already in a foul mood the last few days, doesn't even make real WORDS, just rage noises. Yu, noticing his partner is now be-hatted, stops blocking him, making Neku stumble into the wall]

Raidou, that's not yours.

[He plucks the hat off, putting it away along with the dress and handing the bag back to Terriermon]

Wow, thanks!

[And she's gone again, Neku bellowing after her]

[ Squall is just going to give this feed the strangest look. That was... an odd thing to watch.]

Oh yeah, thanks. I was wondering if anyone had figured this out yet. Though I suppose only some people would be able to understand me... I never got around to repeating it in English before Sakuraba showed up.

He can be... a distraction of sorts. [ pauses ]

Wouldn't it be more simple if you encouraged your digimon to ask?

[he turns a little red. He honestly hadn't thought of that]

Sounds like less of a headache to have to deal with if something can understand the others.

Though... Raidou isn't much of a public speaker.

[Raidou shakes his head and hides behind Yu]

Rai? You don't have to be afraid of Squall. He may look really scary, but he's actually really nice.

[Raidou peeks out]

[ Kudamon giggles and waves happily. ]

[She was going to say something, but now she's just laughing at Neku.]

[Yu only knows Neku in passing, but he can guess who she's laughing at]

Be nice. Though... he was pretty over the top about it... [He hides a smile behind a hand]

I know. [She's trying to stop smiling, but it's not working.] It's just that where I'm from . . . Nevermind, it's not important. It's just very Neku, that's all.

Anyway, I was going to say that the Digimon understand everyone but that's kind of useless if yours doesn't want to translate. Like mine. [Shiki rolls her eyes.]

Raidou is pretty shy... so I don't wanna push him into doing so if I can help it.

[Shiki mumbles something that sounds like shy is better than being a jerk before smiling apologetically.]

I'd let you borrow Lalamon, but she thinks all this is funny.

....yeah maybe not. Though it IS kinda funny.

[CAM UNDERSTANDS LITERALLY NOTHING THAT IS GOING ON HERE. Why does Neku have a dress that reminds him of Lizzy? Why are there bunny-ears. The only thing he understands is Terri and Raidou talking.

But. He. What...???]

...Wh-where's...what's Neku...doing...?

[Of course he's speaking English.]

[In his great wisdom (or lack of) Yu leaves this for Neku to find on his own later. He.... doesn't think of the fact that Neku might not know English. After all, he doesn't want to explain what he ASSUMES, it's not his place.

Neku eventually shows up on his own DT, still looking livid, but more embarrassed by now]

Cam...? Uhm...

[He hears his name, but Cam's own stumbling kills any little understanding Neku might have from school]

I don't understand what you said.

[...Great. Cam knows very little Japanese. Rise's been teaching him some, but mostly how to read it, and even then he's not great.

He catches-- understand? No, wait, that's a negative, right?] ...What'd you just say?

[Oh this'll be great.]

Can't... English...

[He growls and grabs a nearby Terri by the ear, pulling her over. The digimon does not look pleased]

Translate. You can do it, right?

No way, you've been a jerk all day!

Then what good are you today, all you cause is trouble!

[Terri's ears shoot up, and her little black eyes wobble. But she reacts in anger, stomping away]

...

[Cam's taken aback by Neku's yelling, even if he can't understand what he's saying. He wants to tell Terri to wait, to stop, but-- well, looks like it's too late for that. His shocked expression should say all he needs to, but Cam looks around for Lucette to be a translator, and in the meantime, he uses some of the little Japanese he knows, broken, accented, and incredibly stiff.]

Stop. She's sad. Neku. Are you okay?

[For a moment Neku seems amused. Meanly so]

Your Japanese sucks.

[But the amusement twists to anger]

And stop asking if I'm 'okay', damn it! Everyone is pestering me about it!

[So much of it flies right over his head. But he catches tone and jerks back. This doesn't seem like the Neku he's made friends with.

...and any other day, he might feel the need to apologize, but not now.] Stop. [It's more firm.] Stop, mean. [This is getting him nowhere, so he switches back to English.]

You're being a jerk. I was just trying to ask, I would've let it drop if you didn't snap.

[Neku actually manages to look chastised, at least a little. He shifts from mad to sullen, tucking his knees against his chin and tucking most of his lower face into his collar. Between Cam's butchered Japanese and his own shitty understanding of English he gets the idea]

...sorry.

[That's...a little better. Cam still frowns, his own anger subsiding slightly. Instead, he slowly and forcefully asks:] What's going on?

....bad feeling.

['bad mood' was his intent, but he just couldn't think of the righ tword.]

Talk-- ...No. Stupid. [He points to himself there. Duh, of course Neku can't talk about it right now.]

Ugh stop making me feel bad.

Later.

[Though he can't understand the first part, he can hear the venom and...he just frowns.]

*Dante understands...very little of what's being said. It's kind of an odd experience, having to deal with a language barrier when he usually has magic to deal with that. He doesn't like it. Still, he can't help but snicker at the antics.*

Someone a bit embarrassed 'bout 'is fashion sense?

[It takes Yu a moment to mentally translate, but finally he nods]

I think so? He was very upset.
