Goggles 01 - (Video)

(The D-Terminal clicks on to momentarily show a blue hooded shirt before moving up to show -to people who know him, anyway- a very familiar set of yellow goggles, and the young teenager who wears said goggles has a decent but sheepish smile on his face; he's spent the last hour or so playing with Culumon before making his way out to find the room he's scheduled to head to.)

Ha, didn't think the D-Terminals could be used like this...oh, sorry! Hi! I'm Takato Matsuda, and I was told my partner could be found somewhere around here? His name's Guilmon, and he's real friendly and he likes bread...seriously, he REALLY likes bread so if he asks for some I'd get him a couple pieces! He's got a mark on his chest if that helps any.

One last thing, anyone out there who's at...F1 009? That's where Guilmon's staying at, so I guess I'll be rooming with him too and for anyone who lives there sorry for any trouble he's caused.

...And for any trouble he'll cause in the future I'm sorry about that too!

[This... was not what Guilmon had expected to see, nope. After spending months within the city on his own, Takato's appearance hits him like a tremendous explosion. He's there. He's really there.

So here we have one wide-eyed Digimon staring into the camera.]

Takato!

[If his voice sounds a little strained, it's really a combination of shock and some viral intervention. Luckily, Takato's appearance has dragged him out of his angry mindset for the time being.]

(Takato could almost cry at the sight of his Digimon on the screen, though he hides it and gives him a big smile instead.)

...Guilmon! I thought you were supposed to be here welcoming me, but...it's great to see you're okay, boy!

(He's kinda used to the viral strain, having heard it once -and only once- but that's not what he's focused on right now.)

Guilmon would have, Takato, but I didn't know you were here!

[But he's here, after all these months. But wait, the city's really dangerous! There's bad people doing bad things and Takato could get hurt!

His pupils become slits for a split second, but he shakes it off, looking around frantically.]

Are you at the apartment? Guilmon's going there right now!

[Talking in person is better than over these communicators. Much, much better!]

(Uh-oh. Takato knows what his frantic looking around motions mean: Guilmon's getting worried, and he's not too far from the apartment he's supposed to stay at.)

Don't worry, Guilmon; I'm heading there right now! It shouldn't take long for me to show up.

...Guilmon, are you rooming with anyone I should know about?

[The camera's shaking like crazy when Guilmon responds. Seems he's running, running, running---

And with a bit more rapid shaking, he skids to a stop and blinks.]

No, Guilmon's roommates are okay. One of them's just really green with pointy ears.

[And back to running. Hopefully Takato won't get too dizzy, but Guilmon's a 'mon on a mission.]

(Takato's not paying too much attention to the screen himself, running and trying to keep track of the apartments as he goes by...only to stop and blink for a second or two.

Green with pointy ears?!)

...Eh, we know Terriermon and met a kid who was really the Monkey Deva so a green kid shouldn't be too much trouble.

(And back to running, which didn't take too long before Takato reached the apartment he heard about prior to his announcement.)

GUILMON!!

[And Guilmon, being pretty darn fast in his own right, reaches the destination in no time flat. The sound of Takato's voice propels him towards his Tamer. Briefly, all his angry thoughts about beating up dangerous people and being strong and friends being hurt fall to the sidelines.

He charges like a torpedo at his Tamer.]

Takatooo!

[And yeah, that would be one dinosaur pouncing. Some things never change.]

(Takato barely has time to smile broadly before letting out an "Oomph!" as he's tackled to the ground by his Digimon, laughing at the feeling that he had kept his promise, that he and Guilmon would see each other again.)

...It's great to see you again, boy! Took longer than I wanted it to, but we're back together.

[Hopefully Takato won't mind a few friendly nuzzles. He missed Takato bunches, and he's not afraid to show it.]

Mm, and now we can play just like you promised!

[Except... he bristles, hopping off to the side.]

...But first we've gotta make sure everyone's safe! Bad stuff's happening, Takato. Really bad stuff!

[This may or may not be an exaggeration. What Takato doesn't realize yet is how uneasy his partner's been.]

(Takato doesn't mind them at all, chuckling a little while getting to his feet. He listened to what his partner said but didn't quite understand what he meant by it.)

'Bad stuff?' It looks pretty peaceful to me, Guilmon; let's go to the apartment room so I can settle in first and you can tell me what this place is like.

But--

[He looks behind himself, eyes narrowing for a split second, but... no, maybe it's better to wait first. Takato will be safer inside!

Turning back to his partner, Guilmon nods.]

Okay, Takato! Guilmon will lead the way.

[And he'll start by nudging the door open like a good partner. The quicker they get in there, the sooner Guilmon can explain everything!]

(Takato laughed softly as the door's pushed open, amazed at how well Guilmon's endured without him before going inside and letting his partner lead the way.)

So, what's the city like? The Digital World needs help again, but...it seems different than back home.

That's because it is, Takato!

[It's probably a good thing Takato changed the subject. That'll give him less time to focus on everyone's strange behavior and more time to clue his partner in as he leads them towards their room.]

There's lots of new Tamers, but they call themselves Chosen Children, and their Digivices are tiny. They don't get cards, but they've got crests, and I think that's how they evolve their partners to Perfect.

[He tips his head to the side, giving a soft 'hmm'. There's still a lot he hasn't learned about this place.]

The city's huge, too, and most of the shops are run by Digimon instead of people. They don't really fight to absorb data, and when Digimon die here, they turn back into eggs. I think that sounds nicer than our Digital World, even if it's funny to think about...

[They should be getting fairly close now, and Guilmon stops for a second to scope out the door. His ears perk the second he spots it, and he points a claw down the hall.]

Oh...those Digivices are like the ones Taichi-san and the first team of Chosen Children have! My D-Arc stayed the same, so I guess it's okay for us to have while we're here.

(He wonders what his Crest will be like for a few moments while looking down the hallway curiously, only focusing on one door when Guilmon points it out.)

That's our room? Thanks, buddy! Yeah, that's how it was on the Digimon show too; their Digimon could come back at Primary Village after they died...Primary Village is here, too? Amazing...!

Wait, then all the stuff here is like the TV show?

[Guilmon's eyes widen. He had no idea! Then again, when you live in the middle of a park, there's hardly time to watch television. Maybe he'll ask Takato later, but for now, he'll wander inside.

All things considered, the apartment's pretty big, with a living room loaded with two sizable couches, three separate bedrooms, a restroom, and a shower room. Rather than scope out each area, Guilmon's content to climb onto one of the couches. It's cushy!]

Guilmon's pretty sure there's a Taichi here somewhere, and Primary Village has lots of baby Digimon! Elecmon has to take care of them all, and I don't know how he does it.

[It sounds really hard...]

Haha, I wouldn't know; you've been here longer than I have, Guilmon! But there might be some differences.

(Takato looks at his D-Arc for a moment, but soon walks around the apartment for a while and takes a few minutes to scope out the room he'll be sharing with Guilmon. Different from his old room especially since he doesn't recognize much of anything!)

Elecmon's got a tough job but he's had lots of experience so it shouldn't be too much trouble for him to take care of baby Digimon.

[Well, if there's one thing that can be said about their room, it's that it's... actually fairly empty. Guilmon hasn't thought to bring anything home besides snacks and some miscellaneous supplies on a table... like food coloring, water, random markers on the floor. It seems that Guilmon's been doing something to keep busy, anyway.

More notably, there may be a few black smudges on the ground-- ash stains from stray fireballs. Kind of odd, though Guilmon pays them no mind as he enters.]

Well, I think he lets others help him sometimes. Guilmon's thought about it before, just so all the Digimon could have somebody else to play...

[He trails off, shutting his eyes and shuddering. This is silly. Why's he talking about silly things like playing with baby Digimon at a time like this? There's a lot more to cover! More important things... Right?]

(Takato figures he'll definitely take some time to clear out the day-old, day-old, day-old food and try to make it more roomy, a little less like a Digimon's occupied the entire area for himself. He )

Haha, yeah. Have you met any other Digimon?

...Mm, lots of other Digimon.

[C'mon, let's think positive about this. It's not all bad!]

Like another Guilmon, Takato! Guilmon's not sure where she came from, but she evolves into Kyubimon instead of Growmon. There's another Sakuyamon here, too!

[That brief excitement fades within seconds, though, and he lowers his head.]

...And bad Digimon. Guilmon's seen them! They act just like Wild Ones, only worse!

[...This may have been a bad question because Guilmon's pupils just became slits. Grrr, that virus making the Digimon act funny and hurt people...!]

...Another Guilmon who's a girl? That's incredible - and she evolves into Kyubimon, too! And Sakuyamon!

(Uh-oh...he gets up and moves to reassure his partner and keep him from going grr and find someone nasty to fight since there's no bad Digimon here.)

We'll take care of 'em, buddy! But we need to plan first, and I gotta get used to the city -and being here- before doing anything.

[True, they're not in the city, but what if they come back? Like Lotusmon, all those SCOPE-infected Digimon... People are acting funny, and it could be all their fault!

It's probably a good thing Takato's used to Guilmon when he slips into these moods, yet even with Takato standing next to him, his posture remains rigid. Tense.]

But how long will it take to plan, Takato? If we wait, then more people could get hurt!

[The one upside is that he's not snarling and shouting at him like he did with some others.]

(Yes that is an upside. Another one is that Takao's lightly stroking the back of Guilmon's head.)

It shouldn't take too long Guilmon, but we haven't heard anything yet about people getting attacked.

(Maybe if Guilmon waits he can use whatever's littered in the room for a map?)

[The stroking helps, but Guilmon still shakes his head, clearly unhappy about this.]

But two of Guilmon's friends got hurt! They got hurt by someone they care about. People are acting weird! Guilmon saw it!

[His words come out with an air of desperation-- worry rather than rage. Were this anyone else, he probably would've snapped by now.]

(Somethiug's seriously up with Guilmon; even Takato can see that. His stroking doesn't stop, though.)

I get where you're coming from boy, but I still don't know my way around yet! Just walking around might get me lost or trapped in a data stream...are there any data streams in this Digital World?...and then I couldn't help out at all!

...So you need to get used to things first.

[Hmm. Okay, maybe that would help. If Takato knows his way around, then they can really fix things!]

But when you do, we can fight all the bad people, right? Somebody has to!
