(The D-Terminal clicks on to momentarily show a blue hooded shirt before moving up to show -to people who know him, anyway- a very familiar set of yellow goggles, and the young teenager who wears said goggles has a decent but sheepish smile on his face; he's spent the last hour or so playing with Culumon before making his way out to find the room he's scheduled to head to.)

Ha, didn't think the D-Terminals could be used like this...oh, sorry! Hi! I'm Takato Matsuda, and I was told my partner could be found somewhere around here? His name's Guilmon, and he's real friendly and he likes bread...seriously, he REALLY likes bread so if he asks for some I'd get him a couple pieces! He's got a mark on his chest if that helps any.

One last thing, anyone out there who's at...F1 009? That's where Guilmon's staying at, so I guess I'll be rooming with him too and for anyone who lives there sorry for any trouble he's caused.

...And for any trouble he'll cause in the future I'm sorry about that too!

[ Realization dawns on her. ] Ackerman.

[ Then suddenly she's bringing her spare hand to her chest in a salute as she holds her head up high. ]

Mikasa Ackerman. [ Lowering her head. ] It's great that we both have our friends here.

(Takato stares for a moment, then moves to bow in return with a small smile as he looks back at her.)

Hehe, yeah it is great Mikasa-san...! Or would you prefer Ackerman-san?

[ Tilting her head to the side a bit curiously. ]

What do you mean by that? It'll be all right to call me by either name, but that last bit... what does it mean?

Oh-okay, Mikasa-san! And, well...back home in Japan, it's how you greet someone politely.

(Takato mostly does so with Juri, not so much with his other friends.)

Should I be calling you... something identical then?

[ She doesn't want to be impolite. ] I wouldn't mind trying to fit the customs of your world if you'll allow me.

Really? Um, okay. (Let's see...he's not sure how old she is but maybe around his age? Domo's out; same with senpai and sempai, but maybe sama or san...)

What about...Takato-kun or -chan? Those are how boys are referred to sometimes by others.

Takato-kun. [ She repeats and it seems to flow well enough for her.

Maybe she's a natural at it secretly. ] If that will be all right with you, Takato-kun, I'll address you as I properly should. Thank you.

(She'll notice he blushea bit, but other than that doesn't seem to mind it much.)

That's just fine, Mikasa-san! Oh, chan's also used to refer to girls but I don't really call the girls I know those proper words.

[ It's cute, but she doesn't understand why he is oops. ]

Why not? If that's what girls are referred to by, why do you choose to do otherwise?
