09 ✨ VIDEO {backdated to November 17, after all the NPC posts}
Hello my fellow Chosen, it seems as if we're in quite the situation now. First of all, let me just say if you bring up anything I said to you during that entire period of shifty behavior so help me, I'll stuff your body into locker for weeks. I think it'd be great if we all just moved forward from that and let bygones be bygones because now we've got a greater threat on our hands. More importantly, remember Chosen that it was your partner who stood by your side and tried their best to look out for you while all of this was going on. So before you consider whether or not their sincerity is valid, you should think over the past few weeks and decide for yourself.
[ Lunamon is in the background with her eyes wide with tears. Clearly she's overwhelmed by the true kindness that her Chosen has kept under wraps, though those who have gotten to know Rin lately might wonder if it's just a side-effect of her recent change in personality. ]
If that boring sentimental message already caused you to cut the call, good. You're the type of Chosen this place doesn't need--but for the rest of you, I have more to say. I have been investigating the Scope Virus Digimon to the best of my ability and after speaking with the caretaker at Primary Village--[ She pauses to look over her shoulder. ] Lunamon, go there now, just as we planned.
--But Rin! [ The moon Digimon squeaks with concern. ] I, I don't want to leave you now that you've accepted me as your partner!
Lunamon, we promised that we would help out. We rely on each other, but we also have our own strengths alone. [ It seems this is a talk they have often as she appears to be reminding her partner. ] I'll be safe here with Coronamon, but don't you think for a moment I'm abandoning you. [ It works, as Lunamon takes off to leave Rin to resume her conversation with the network. ]
As I was saying, Digimon who are associated with the Scope Virus don't return to Primary Village as eggs. We've seen how Digimon are here so isn't it cruel to be mercilessly slaying them left and right? Well, I'm sure it hardly matters to most of you, but for some of us who like to remain a little humane, the alternative of capturing them is preferred. We do have a jail and furthermore it'd be easier to understand what we're up against if we can analyze them a bit better. I'm not hinting at torture, but if it comes down to it... well, sometimes you have to play dirty to get the information you need. [ Please, someone bring her an infected Digimon to toy around with sometime. ] More importantly, I'm sure you're wanting to know if what that monstrosity said was true, huh?
The test results are in and while these Digimon that have been brought to the city are assembled differently than the ones we've come to known, it's difficult to tell whether or not that makes them anymore real... [ It's frustrating to admit that out loud. After all the work she's spent in understanding the Digimon here, it turns out she was wrong? Now she's going to have to study them extensively some more. ] Well, it's not so much they were assembled differently, but perhaps acclimated due to different conditions? Well, I'd be glad to tell you the specifics should you find time to discuss it during all of this chaos.
[ OOC: Here is your handy IC excuse to know this information! While Rin can't say she knows why or who damaged them, she can make pretty good guesses that this boasting jerk knows a thing or two about it. ]

[ Pause, then to clarify: ] About who they've affected, that is. It seems a pretty dumb thing to think about, but if it's related to your crest, I can see why you care.
Besides, you're not the first person to be surprised by their choice.

[ Adding with a wink: ] There's no changing perfection here.

[smirk]
Like most of these crest related things it's entirely metaphysical and subjective. I'm starting to theorize that those of us who have to wait longer may just be harder to place because we're more unique then the others.
After all...there's four crests of friendship floating around and three of tenacity.
no subject
[ What a buzzkill she is. ] That may be the right theory though. Don't they appear when someone feels strongly for something anyway?
no subject
I thought they did, but when I got mine the only strong feelings I had were to prove I was still capable, and to survive. I wasn't thinking all that hard on my acute sense of control over my own destiny.
no subject
[ Which isn't a problem for her, she just needs to overcome the mental barrier of what happened the last time she had a partner that fought. Even if they came back, the thought of someone dying in the first place is a horrible one. ]
Huh... so that's how it happened for you? I wonder if that's tied into your destiny in any way. What do you think?
no subject
If it's tied into my destiny then things are only going to get harder from here on out. But I've come this far so there's no sense in backing down.
The only real question I have is if I'm turning into a goody two shoes because I'm fighting a greater evil. Do I still get my bad girl cred if I'm not actively causing trouble?
no subject
[ Rin can't contain a laugh at her expense. ] Don't worry so much about that. It's all right to be bad and it's all right to be good. You can switch between the two on whim--that's what makes a person really bad and unreliable!
no subject
I know it's a matter of morals really. I can be willing to help people without going too far out of my way. I'm pretty sure the robots hate me already because I stood up for that murder happy girl I was rooming with for a week so there's that preventing me from being completely good.
no subject
Can't you reprogram them to be less of a pain in the rear?
no subject
So they only way they could be re-programmed now is the same way you would re-program a human. Brainwashing, conditioning...
...unless...
[A sharp devious and thoughtful glance]
If we're all made of data in this world...what do you suppose would happen if you learned how to hack into the data of an individual?
