009 - Ninth Flight [Video]

[A video appears on the feed, showing a Gomamon lying down on a pillow on a bed in a seemingly empty apartment. He lets out a sigh and drops his head onto his claws, staring at the D-Terminal that he just switched on.]

A'ight so.....s'been a long time comin' so I figured I'd go 'head and say this while the town ain't bein' destroyed and all. Plus I...got a lotta people t'apologize to.

[Fearless? Apologizing?
Stranger things have happened.]

...When th'lights were out I....got really mad at Hic. Like. REALLY mad. I ended up Digivolvin' and I don't remember a whole ton about it, but some things are startin' ta' come back.....he told me I Digivolved to Gigadramon, wasn't listenin' to nobody....

[He hesitates, glancing away from the screen.]

...Paolo, Choco. ...I'm....I'm sorry. I'm really sorry for hurtin' you guys. I didn't mean to, really. And Donnie and Fluttershy...I'm sorry for how much that must'a hurt ya guys too.

...Mostly you Donnie. ...I messed things up real bad fer ya and Marley, I-I know. ...Now she's gone, so... I can't even apologize to her.

[He lifts his head a little, shaking his head.]

A-and I know you ain't ever gonna see this....but Marley, I'm sorry too. Ya were such a good person, and I never.....meant ta' hurt ya. ....I loved ya....

...But....it wasn't right'a me ta'do what I did. If I cared 'bout ya so much, I just would'a let you and Donnie be happy. But I didn't.....and I'm sorry.

Anyone else I've hurt, with bein' Gigadramon....or just bein' a big fat jerk anytime....I'm sorry. I'm....tryin' ta' learn. Been taught th'hard way how far keepin' a forked tongue gets me..

And....what with these "real" partners or whatever. ...Yaknow, maybe I wasn't 'sposed ta' be Hic's partner. I've already screwed up ENOUGH. I let 'im get killed, so if that ain't screwin' up I dunno what is.

But I ain't goin' anywhere without a fight. But I'm gettin' off topic- Look bottom line? ...I'm gonna work on doin' different from now on.

Maybe then things'll be better.

[And with that, he reaches out and turns off the feed with a claw.]

[The little Digimon visibly tenses up at the sight of BlackWargreymon, but if he's afraid he tries his best not to make much of a show of it.]

I have never been a Digimon capable of being the partner to a Chosen.

I nearly destroyed the Digital World in a past life, and in this one I am now responsible for a great deal of the damage you've seen done to this city, aside from that caused by Titamon.

Yeah, you an' half the rest of the city, pal. Digimon 'ave been goin' nuts left an' right, so it ain't entirely yer fault.

It is a depressing state of affairs, but what you say is true.

.....I'm sorry. I guess I can't really talk cause I dunno what that's like...but I dunno, the kids seem ta'like ya enough either way, right? Don't that count for somethin'?

[Had this been a month ago, Donatello would have had a very hard time forgiving Fearless. But he had plenty of time to accept what happened, plus later killing Hiccup, they were pretty much even. There was no longer a reason to hate the Gomamon.]

Fearless... it's okay, I forgive you. For everything. Marley would definitely forgive you too, I think she already had before she left. And especially after... everything, I definitely forgive you.

[Fearless is silent for a moment, refusing to meet Donnie's gaze directly.]

M.....m'glad ta'hear that, Donnie. Though honestly, ya got every reason ta'be mad at me....

[But it is true that after everything that has happened, they're pretty much square at this point.]

And you have every reason to be mad and hate me. But you and Hiccup forgave me, so it's only fair that I forgive you for your mistake.

[He smiles a bit. He's pretty pale-looking and fever-flushed, but looking better than he did two days ago.]

Well...I...don't really remember much of what happened then either. I think I had Dark Digivolved too...So I'm not too mad at you.

And I know Fluttershy forgives you. She doesn't blame you for what happened.

Well...like I said, I don't remember much of anything after I Dark Digivolved. If I hadn't, though, I don't think I would've fought you anyway.

Yes...it is not easy to control those feelings...as much as you wish to.
