[There's static on the screen for a moment before it clears, and Fluttershy waves a bit shyly into the camera.]

H...H-Hello everyone, um...I...hope you're all doing well.

S-So I...I've learned a little about...Christmas, which is...coming up, right? A-And it's actually very similar to a holiday we celebrate in Equestria...wh-where I'm from. S-So I...I-I was thinking that I'd...like to give gifts to people. I-I mean if...if that's all right...

I have...some ideas for what to give people, b-but, um...i-if you wouldn't mind, could you...maybe let me know what you'd like as a gift? I...can't really promise much, but I'm...pretty good at knitting...I think...

S-So if...everyone could let me know what you'd like...I'll do my best to make it. E-Even...if you don't celebrate Christmas...or Hearth's Warming Eve like I do...I'd still like to give you something...if that's okay...

[She hesitates for a moment before turning the D-Terminal off.]

What do you do on your holidays?

Well...I-I'm still learning about Christmas, so I...can't say much about that yet. But on Hearth's Warming Eve, we set up decorations and lights, and we make all kinds of special food for the holiday. And we sing songs...

A-And of course there's the Hearth's Warming Eve play that reminds us why we celebrate...

That sounds nice. All of it. Even the food part.

What is that?

Well...see back home, there are three kinds of ponies - pegasi, ponies with wings who took care of the weather; unicorns, ponies with horns and magic; and Earth ponies, who grew food on the ground. The three types of ponies didn't always get along, and we celebrate Hearth's Warming Eve for when that all changed.

Ponies take care of weather...? How does that happen?

[But that's beside the point. Right. Okay.]

How did it change?

Well the Pegasi make the clouds that can bring rain and block the sun...things like that.

The three rulers of the different kinds of ponies went to find a new land to call their own, but they all ended up in the same land. Eventually they learned to get along, and all three founded the land that is now known as Equestria.

[That is the very condensed version.]

How do they do that?

[He'd be hunkered down listening intently if this were in person.]

There was no war? Like... with the robots here?

Well, the city where most Pegasi come from, Cloudsdale, has a cloud factory where clouds are made.

Well, there was a lot of arguing...and because they couldn't get along at first, these magical creatures almost froze the land forever.

... Clouds come from factories?

[You're blowing his mind, here.]

And then what happened?

W-Well...b-back where I come from they do. Other places might be different.

Well, actually the leaders themselves ended up frozen. But their seconds-in-command...they learned that they didn't dislike each other as much as their leaders did. And when they learned to get along, they created a powerful feeling of warmth that eventually melted all the ice away.

Oh. I think you're right -- no one ever said anything about it, in the facility.

So... the leaders didn't do it. Their seconds did. Weren't the leaders angry?

[She nods.] From what I understand, clouds just...form in most other places.

Not really. The light and feeling that the seconds-in-command shared was so strong, that it spread to the leaders, and they learned to get along as well.

Yes... I think that's how it works.

So everything worked out. Because of... love?

[She nods.] That's the magic of friendship...

Friends are magic?

Not necessarily...although depending on where they come from, they could be...

[Because technically, she had magical friends herself.]

I only meant that the power of friendship should never be underestimated.

Are you magic?

[Since she'd said they were friends and all.]

I guess not. If it can melt things like that.

[She shakes her head.] N-No, I'm not one of the...magic kind.

What kind are you?

I'm just the...regular kind.

... You're the only one I know of who says she's a pony.

[He's trying to be supportive. And encouraging.]

W-Well that's true. So I guess I'm a pony kind...
