1st Lullaby [Text >> Audio >> Video]
D3pxKD 8ksi4 4L/'nsysk!840] jma
[Hello, Terminal Tokyo. It seems someone has opted for the 'start pushing buttons and see what happens' method of getting to know their D-Terminal, with the initial result being a nonsensical text message. A moment later, though, the audio cuts in, with a little girl's voice coming over the airwaves.]
-nk I got it to do something! Did that message just get sent? [slight pause] Oh wait, it's sending now! I think...? Wasn't there supposed to be pictures too?
[There's the faint sound of a few more buttons being pressed before a second voice pipes up, also sounding young and female, its tone fondly amused.]
Here, let me.
[A moment later, the video turns on, showing Terminal Tokyo a close up of the smiling face of a Salamon, who seems to be the owner of the second voice.]
There we go.
[The Salamon moves out of the way and the owner of the first voice can finally be seen, a little girl with big orange eyes and a face that's two-tone tan, as well as oddly soft-looking. The girl's face is framed by what looks like equally two-toned hair, mostly red with a broad purple stripe, that's pulled back into a short pony tail atop her head. Those looking closely might notice a few oddities, like the fact that her eyes have slit pupils, rather than round, and that a set of tiny fangs can be glimpsed in her mouth when she speaks.]
Thanks! So... um... hi, everyone. [waves to the camera with a bit of an uncertain smile] First of all, I'm Wily-Kit, and this's my partner, Emerick.
[She briefly turns the camera back on the Salamon, who waves a fore-paw, before turning it back on herself.]
Second... um... does anybody know where I can get a winter cloak, or something? I'm not really dressed for the weather around here...
[Skilled observers of backgrounds will notice that she's still in the main terminal building, apparently having opted to stay there for the moment rather than trying to find her way to her apartment in the cold, so anyone who wants to find her can do so there.]

Re: [Video]
OK, I won't say anything unless he does first.
He sounds kinda like Panthro, though; except Panthro's just big and grumpy most of the time, not touchy.
[After a moment, Hollyleaf laughs lightly.] I guess they're similar ways of reacting, aren't they? One of my brothers is the same.
Re: [Video]
And how many brothers do you have back home? I've got two. Wily-Kat- he's my twin- and my little brother. I've got a little sister too, but... well, I haven't seen any of them but Wily-Kat for awhile.
That's a big family. I have two brothers, Jayfeather and Lionblaze. I...haven't seen them in awhile either. [Her smile falls a little.] But I miss the both of them.

El Dara's not a who, it's a what. It's a city of treasure, hidden somewhere in the furthest corners of Third Earth. It's the most spectacular place ever, and so beautiful, it's called the Jewel of the World. It's warm in the winter, and cool in the summer, and there's always enough food to go around; even desert! And every family there lives happily ever after.
[Her smile turns from excited to wistful.]
Mamma said the only way Kat and I could help the family would be to find El Dara, so that's what we're gonna do. We'll find it and bring back enough riches to take care of everyone. Then Mamma won't have to worry any more, and we can all be together again.
[What a beautiful idea. Hollyleaf hears the same excitement in Kit's voice that she had as a young kit, waiting for a mentor. She sees the determination from her brother's faces, imagines the three of them going on great adventures like up the mountain, to the Tribe of Rushing Water.
The result is a nostalgic and somewhat sad smile, and a softening to her voice.] You're very brave to do that, you and your brother. Your family, don't they worry about you?
Probably. I didn't really want to make Mamma worry any more, but Kat was right; we had to do something. And besides, without us there, there'd be two less mouths to feed.
After Papa died... Mamma had to work the farm and take care of all of us too. But she couldn't. There wasn't enough food for all five of us. Mamma tried to make sure we all had at least a little, but... pretty soon that didn't leave any for her.
So we waited til Mamma thought we were asleep, and we... left. That was awhile ago. We haven't been back since.
[What a young cat to be worrying about so much. If this kit lived in a Clan...
Hollyleaf sighs, but she keeps that soft smile.] You and your brother are very brave, Wily-Kit. I hope you can find El Dara and help your family live peacefully.
You'll be happy to know that here, there is enough food for you to eat...even if it's not the kind of food I'm used to, I'm starting to get the feeling you'll find it tasty.
Thanks. We've got Lion-O, Panthro, Cheetara, and Tygra with us back home now, so it's not quite as bad as it sounds. We thought we'd have Pumyra too, but she turned out to be working for Mumm-Ra the whole time.
[Kit huffs at that a little at that, angrily. Stupid Pumyra.
She brightens again at the mention of food, though.]
Hehe, yep. That's one of the best things about this place; you can get free food whenever you want!
Not that I'm not gonna try and earn my way too, 'course, but... it's nice to know, ya know?
[Though she doesn't quite understand what 'working for Mumm-Ra' means, Hollyleaf understands the feeling behind it, and she listens to the little kit. She dips her head and ears in acknowledgement.]
Of course. The Trailmon set up jobs, most of the time, but this moon... Well, we have a lot of repairs to do. I'm sure you'll receive something for that too.
Yeah, I saw the damage on the way over. It almost looked like Thundara did after Mumm-Ra and the lizards attacked it.
Not sure how Emerick and I can help, though. We can't move heavy stuff, and we're not really good at building things. Plus I'll need to come up with something warmer to wear before I go help with stuff outside.
Focus on finding something warm then, right now. Some of the shops have been destroyed, but there are places for clothing out there. I can't do very much either, but I'm sure even a little bit is helpful.
OK. Though maybe I could just make something to wear if I can find some cloth and stuff. My sewing isn't the neatest, but it holds up pretty well.
Well, I can try. Not sure anybody'd want what I made, if there's other people around who can sew too. Like I said, mine's not really pretty, and most people kinda want their clothes to look nice.
I can help with mending, though, if anyone needs that.
Well, OK, then! If I make anything I think you'd like, I'll let you know, OK? Are there any colors you really like, or aren't you worried about that either?
...Green. Like a forest. Or blue, like a lake.
Green or blue, got it. My favorite is purple, but those are nice too.
They remind me of the forest and the lake back home.

Fish was what there was. Other meat was hard to come by most of the time. We didn't raise any animals on or farm, just vegetables, and none of us were really hunters.
