[Hello, Terminal Tokyo. It seems someone has opted for the 'start pushing buttons and see what happens' method of getting to know their D-Terminal, with the initial result being a nonsensical text message. A moment later, though, the audio cuts in, with a little girl's voice coming over the airwaves.]

-nk I got it to do something! Did that message just get sent? [slight pause] Oh wait, it's sending now! I think...? Wasn't there supposed to be pictures too?

[There's the faint sound of a few more buttons being pressed before a second voice pipes up, also sounding young and female, its tone fondly amused.]

Here, let me.

[A moment later, the video turns on, showing Terminal Tokyo a close up of the smiling face of a Salamon, who seems to be the owner of the second voice.]

There we go.

[The Salamon moves out of the way and the owner of the first voice can finally be seen, a little girl with big orange eyes and a face that's two-tone tan, as well as oddly soft-looking. The girl's face is framed by what looks like equally two-toned hair, mostly red with a broad purple stripe, that's pulled back into a short pony tail atop her head. Those looking closely might notice a few oddities, like the fact that her eyes have slit pupils, rather than round, and that a set of tiny fangs can be glimpsed in her mouth when she speaks.]

Thanks! So... um... hi, everyone. [waves to the camera with a bit of an uncertain smile] First of all, I'm Wily-Kit, and this's my partner, Emerick.

[She briefly turns the camera back on the Salamon, who waves a fore-paw, before turning it back on herself.]

Second... um... does anybody know where I can get a winter cloak, or something? I'm not really dressed for the weather around here...

[Skilled observers of backgrounds will notice that she's still in the main terminal building, apparently having opted to stay there for the moment rather than trying to find her way to her apartment in the cold, so anyone who wants to find her can do so there.]

[Kit seems to consider this advice for a moment.]

Hmm... How far is it from where you show up? [She pauses there a moment before realizing that the other girl might need to know where she was trying to get to to be able to tell her that.] Oh! Um... I'm supposed to be in... F2 003. I think...?

[She glances off to the side where her partner is for confirmation, and apparently gets it, because she turns back to the camera and nods, her reply more certain this time.]

Yeah, F2 003.

That should put a marker on your map. The alternative is begging for extra clothes and who wants to do that?

[Kit blinks in surprise, then smiles as the marker appears.]

Hey, cool, it did! Thanks! How'd you do that?

[Kit does study the map though, mentally gauging the distance between where she was and where she wanted to get to.]

Hmmm... You're right, it's not that far. I should be able to get there without freezing my tail off.

There you go. Then if you follow the signs inside the building you can find the cafeteria and get free food. Maybe some hot chocolate.

(Rainbow's face, blue skin and rainbow hair, appeared on screen as she briefly focuses the D-Terminal on Falcomon -who waves briefly- before it goes back to her.)

Welcome to the Digital World, Kit! (Short for Wily-Kit, obviously.) Name's Rainbow Dash, and that was my partner Speedy. Wouldn't you feel warmer with a coat on and not a cloak?

She smiles at the greeting though.]

[Kit isn't quite sure whether talking to someone with these gadgets counts as meeting them or not.

At the question about cloaks vs coats, though, she frowns slightly in thought.]

I'm... not sure? Cloaks were what we wore in cold weather back home; nice, thick, heavy ones. Momma said that the nicer ones had fur lining to make them even warmer, but those cost a lot of money, so we didn't have any like that.

[There's a brief pause, but Kit can't quite contain her curiosity.]

How did you get your hair to be all different colors like that? It's pretty.

(Rainbow laughs lightly at the 'sorta' comment, but she'd consider it a greeting either way. She gives the cloaks/coats comment some thought as well.)

Pretty sure cloaks aren't too common here, but maybe after you've settled in we can go find you a coat.

(She grins confidently while her wings flap steadily behind her, even as she motions to her hair.)

[A few more moments of pondering and she puts that line of thought aside for the moment. Nothing could be done about it just yet anyway, and there were more important things to discuss right then.

Cool! A lot of animals back where I'm from had more than one color hair, but you're the only one I've ever seen with rainbow hair. [Pause, as she notices something else.] And wings too! Are you a bird?

And thanks, but I'm already on my way over to the apartments now. I'm meeting the girl who showed me how to get there in the cafeteria, where she said we can get free food and hot chocolate. ...Whatever hot chocolate is. It sounds good though!

[Kit still sounds impressed at the offer of free food, and indeed, the now moving background seems to indicate that she's walking briskly, most likely trying to keep warm as she heads toward the newbie apartments.]

And I don't see why you couldn't come, though we'd probly have to get some extra hot chocolate, since she's only expecting me and Emerick. And I didn't get her name, but she looked a little older than me and has bright pink hair, so she'd probly be hard to miss.

Well, usually I'd say that there's some stores where you'll be able to get a jacket or something. But well... the city's pretty messed up right now. It might be harder than normal to find one that's open.

[ She pauses for a moment, thinking of something. She might've had a sweatshirt that could work out for now, even if it wasn't the best. ]

[She smiles at the offer.]

Yeah. We got attacked by a lot of Digimon. Both Lotusmon and Titamon were leading an attack on the city... I don't know what the two of them were planning, though it looks like they weren't working together.

[ And that's not even going into all of the damage that the SCOPE virus caused. But well... maybe mentioning that was a bit much. ]

Anyway, either of those work out for me! I actually live in F1 003, so we're not that far from each other at all.

[Kit nods. Some of what she was seeing reminded her of Thundara after Mumm-ra and the Lizards got through with it.]

Yeah, looks like they did a lot of damage. Are they still around?

Uh-huh. I'm in the apartment now, with Emerick. I got my own room and my own bed and everything!

[Because srsly, that's just awesome from Kit's perspective, given her background as a poor farm kid-come-semi-homeless street kid. First free food and now her very own room? Yep, she's pretty much sold on the Digital World.

The scar doesn't bother her; Thundarans are taught to wear the scars they've earned proudly, and besides, the other girl's got nothing on Panthro scar wise. It's the cat ears that catch her attention.]

Hey, you're a cat too? I thought I was the only one here! What's your name?

[The question sparks a grin. Hollyleaf nods and flicks her ears.] I didn't want to assume you were as well... I'm Hollyleaf, and there are a few cats around...well, two. Both lions, Kovu and Nala.

[Kit grins and undoes the simple leather thong that normally ties her ears back so Hollyleaf can see. They poof outward to their natural state almost immediately, resembling her brother's.]

That's a pretty name. And there are lions here? I wonder if they're anything like Lion-O? He's a friend of mine back home.

[And also their king, though she's honestly never thought of him that way.]
