1st Lullaby [Text >> Audio >> Video]
D3pxKD 8ksi4 4L/'nsysk!840] jma
[Hello, Terminal Tokyo. It seems someone has opted for the 'start pushing buttons and see what happens' method of getting to know their D-Terminal, with the initial result being a nonsensical text message. A moment later, though, the audio cuts in, with a little girl's voice coming over the airwaves.]
-nk I got it to do something! Did that message just get sent? [slight pause] Oh wait, it's sending now! I think...? Wasn't there supposed to be pictures too?
[There's the faint sound of a few more buttons being pressed before a second voice pipes up, also sounding young and female, its tone fondly amused.]
Here, let me.
[A moment later, the video turns on, showing Terminal Tokyo a close up of the smiling face of a Salamon, who seems to be the owner of the second voice.]
There we go.
[The Salamon moves out of the way and the owner of the first voice can finally be seen, a little girl with big orange eyes and a face that's two-tone tan, as well as oddly soft-looking. The girl's face is framed by what looks like equally two-toned hair, mostly red with a broad purple stripe, that's pulled back into a short pony tail atop her head. Those looking closely might notice a few oddities, like the fact that her eyes have slit pupils, rather than round, and that a set of tiny fangs can be glimpsed in her mouth when she speaks.]
Thanks! So... um... hi, everyone. [waves to the camera with a bit of an uncertain smile] First of all, I'm Wily-Kit, and this's my partner, Emerick.
[She briefly turns the camera back on the Salamon, who waves a fore-paw, before turning it back on herself.]
Second... um... does anybody know where I can get a winter cloak, or something? I'm not really dressed for the weather around here...
[Skilled observers of backgrounds will notice that she's still in the main terminal building, apparently having opted to stay there for the moment rather than trying to find her way to her apartment in the cold, so anyone who wants to find her can do so there.]

[Action]
"Back home, Lion-O is trying to get all the animals of Third Earth to work together too," Kit said. "That's the only way we'll be able to beat Mumm-Ra for good."
Re: [Action]
"What was Mumm-Ra like?" She inquired. The name itself offered some ideas but she was always curious about a villain and their themes.
[Action]
Kit gestured at appropriate intervals to indicate Mumm-Ra's increased size in his Ever Living and armored forms before settling down. "But even when he's just old and creepy, you gotta watch out for his magic. He's really powerful."
Re: [Action]
"So he has beaten him before, just not a long lasting victory?"
[Action]
"But yeah, when the animals rebelled against him, one of the cats locked him up in a coffin-thing, and he couldn't get out until he got Grune to help him. The animals all used to be Mumm-Ra's slaves, see. All except for the cats, who worked for him willingly. Well... mostly. And now I guess he wants the four Power Stones so he can make everybody his slaves again."
Re: [Action]
When it was put like that it gave her chills. Most of the time she'd be rooting for the villain but she liked this kid well enough.
[Action]
"We've got two Power Stones now," Kit said. "The War Stone- the one we've always called the Eye of Thundera, that's in the hilt of the Sword of Omens- and the Spirit Stone that Lion-O found in the astral plane. And thanks to Pumyra, Mumm-Ra has the Tech Stone now. We don't know where the fourth stone is or what it does yet. I just hope Mumm-Ra doesn't either."
"But it's not all bad," Kit added, sipping her cocoa. "We've made lots of friends while traveling around Third Earth. And they've all shown that they'll help us when we need it. The Fish-men, the Berbils, the Elephants, even the Dogs... they all came to help us against Mumm-Ra when we asked. It's the first time in a really long time that the different animal tribes have come together like that. Maybe even the first time ever."
Re: [Action]
"It's like I've walked in near the end of a really great story. And good on you for being able to explain it so clearly." Despite how much Jinx was still wondering about. After all she had no idea who Pumyra was or what the different stones would do.
"Have you had to tell this story before?"
[Action]
"But it's usually Lion-O or one of the other grown-ups that tell folks what we're doing," Kit said. "The only time we really had to tell people stuff was when me and Kat left Evista City to go get back up. We told them that Lion-O was in trouble, and needed them to help him the way he'd helped them. They all listened to us and sent help back with us riding in the Forever Bag!" Kit's clearly proud of this, because how often did grown-ups take kids seriously, really?
Re: [Action]
"Oh come on, I get the feeling that you are a very important member of the team even if the grown ups are too wrapped up in their own business to realize it." She offered.
[Action]
"But the grown ups are, well, grown-ups," she said with a slight shrug. "They're bigger and stronger and have to do most of the real fighting. Cheetara's super-fast, Tygra can turn invisible, Panthro's really strong and good at building things, and Lion-O has the Sword of Omens and everything. Kinda hard to compete with that most of the time."
Re: [Action]
She sighed shaking her head "Yeah of course. Trust me I know. I grew up the only kid I knew unless you counted the circus animals. No one wants to admit that the kids might be able to see or do things that they can't."
She looked conspiratorial and leaned in with a whisper "Of course you know the greatest asset young girls have?" She offered secretively.
"Because grown ups have already finished growing. You've got so much more to learn and grow that you could be greater then all of them." She purred.
Re: [Action]
Curious about this big secret, though, Kit leaned in a little too and lowered her voice. "I dunno. What?", she whispered.
"And yeah, I guess," Kit said. "Don't think I'll be greater than Lion-O, though, since he's our king and all."
Re: [Action]
She sighed and gave Kit a pet. "Not with that attitude you won't. If you'd have asked me when I was a kid if I was ever gonna be greater then the acrobats in our circus I would have said no. But now? I can do anything they can do and I can do it better."
Re: [Action]
Re: [Action]
I'm just saying don't sell yourself short. Especially in this world."
Re: [Action]
"Yeah, OK," Kit said. "I'm short enough anyway without selling myself any, after all." She giggled a bit at her own joke.
Re: [Action]
"Your sense of humor is adorable." she decided "Awful. But adorable."
Raising her mug to the girl in a toast.
"Here's to your big new adventure. I expect great things from you."
And wrap, I think? :3
Kit raised her mug too as Jinx toasted her. "To a new adventure," she agreed. Probably the first of many.
Seems like a good wrap to me!
