S~o I'm writing up the last details on the festival. I've got a few things here and there, but I want more advice.

[ Roze is sitting on her bed, hair pulled up loose and pinned with chopsticks in a "librarian" style, papers surrounding her, a pencil tapping against her lips. ]

I want to include things from other people's world's and cultures. So what do you people do for your end of year or "end of cycle" celebrations, huh?

Hardly anyone responded to their invitations, but I'll assume a lot of you don't know what RSVP means. Despite that, if there's anyone out there willing to add to the festivities, I'd love to hear your ideas.

Anyways, lemme know.

Oh yeah and uh...

We need more help with the music, if anyone is interested. Neku's got the tracks taken care of, but if there's anyone out there that knows how to actually play stuff, I'd like to talk to you. --Don't worry, Wily-Kit, I've already got you down.

Well, Guilmon thinks that if there's gonna be a big party, there should be bread!

[Granted, that's his answer to everything. Simple 'mon with simple pleasures.]

I'm not sure what people usually do for those kinds of celebrations, though. Guilmon's never been around for one before, and I had to leave the Real World before it happened. At least, I think it was before it happened...

[Maybe he should ask Takato...]

But, um. Guilmon can RSVP... I think. Is RSVP a good thing?

[ She looks up, blinking slowly before laughing softly and cocking her head to the side. ]

Yeah, sweetheart. It just means you're responding to the invitation you got. You lemme know if you're gonna show up or not. And if you want bread, I think I know just the person to talk to.

He's kinda more into pies, but I bet he could figure out how to make you some fresh bread too, if you want.

Oh, okay! Then should I ask Takato if he wants to do that, too? He's got his own D-Terminal, so he should be able to see this too! We've just been a little busy.

[But parties sound fantastic and-- hold the phone, she just mentioned breads and pie. His ears twitch at the words, and his whole face brightens.]

Aaah, that would be great if you would do that! Pie's okay too, though. Guilmon never really got to eat those much because I just ate bread. And I can always ask Takato if he wants to bake stuff, too. Lots of tasty food!

There's going to be a pie stand. You can go there and sample everything, I imagine, adn we can definitely use more people manning the food and game stands. Does Takato know how to make okonomiyaki? If not there's plenty of room for other stuff. All volunteers appreciated!

Okono... miyaki?

[Hmm, that's a big word... Very big.]

Well, Takato's parents are bakers and we're from Japan, and okonomiyaki sounds Japanese, so I think he could! Guilmon can ask just in case, though.

[Someone's playing a piano in a dimly lit room. It's not a tune most people in the city would recognize, and there's no sheet music in sight. Most of the view is of hands on keys, and a face isn't visible at all.]

I can also play ukulele, but I'd probably have to practice for that.

[ She sits and stares, riveted for the duration of the playing, more silent than almost anyone has had the opportunity to see her. When the voice pipes up, she blinks and jerks, as though suddenly released from some spell.]

Huh? Oh. Y-yeah. No. I mean. No ukulele necessary. If you're willing to play piano, I'd love to have you on the pavilion where the dance will actually be.

You'd only be playing music for a while before the actual dance, since Neku has a music program prepared. I don't want anyone to have to work the entire festival, so everyone can come to the dance.

[The response takes a while, because Ryan's moved from where he keeps the piano to his room. It's much better lit.]

I don't mind. I do either need a piano there or someone to help me wheel mine to where you want me, though. Pianos don't move themselves.

Well obviously, snarker. [ She snorts a laugh, cocking a brow. I'll see if we can find one closer to the pavilion. I don't wanna risk yours if we don't have to, but you'll have to go check it and make sure its tuned for you. I dunno who to get on it if it isn't.

I'm Roze, by the way. I don't think we've spoken directly before.

Anyways, I'll put you in on the pavilion. I just spoke with the local cellist too so you guys will be working together. You can decide what pieces you guys wanna play. I trust your combined tastes.

I play cello! [Maya grins and then moves out of frame to show a cello that is propped against the wall.] I also have a guitar, but I figured you probably already have one of those.

[Maya knows of Roze. And she also knows of Roze and Dante, who plays electric guitar.]

Well, Dante wants to play, but I don't want him taking the center stage and I'm not in this to play any kinda favorites. Truth be told though, cello is uh...

*cough*

...one of my favorite instruments. [ she reaches up, scratching the side of her nose and looking away. ]

I'd love to include you on the palisade. Someone else offered piano. It'd be a really beautiful accompaniment. I think, anyways.

Well, unless you have someone singing everything then no one really takes center stage in a band. At least in my experience. [Maya shrugs, and then smiles.] Anyway, I'd love to play at your party. It's my favorite thing to play for people who enjoy it.

Oh, no. You misunderstand me. Dante would definitely make it about him. Sliding around on his knees and playing riffs way too loud. Shouting about requests and trying to look like a rockstar. But no, I've got him playing somewhere else in the park.

Hmm...would you guys benefit from a flupe? Its...kinda like an ocarina, I guess. [ She gestures the size and shape of Wily-Kit's instrument. ]

I've got her playing and story-telling, but I can move things around.

[innermonologues]

I wake up. I train. I used to go to classes. Then I go to bed.

[ basically he doesn't celebrate nothin' ]

Well, now you celebrate New Years. You're gonna dance with me, right?

[ long awkward pause. ]

I only know one dance... sort of.

Well, I'd like to dance with you at the festival. If you don't have someone else in mind. Just one dance would be fine, but I'll understand if you don't want to. [ She sighs, relenting much earlier than usual, her tone a bit tired. ]

Did the uh...music stuff work out? [ She asks, being deliberately - if poorly - vague, since she didn't want her involvement to be an issue. ]

Wha, all that? It, uh, nothing, don't worry 'bout it, I wasn't really...you know, anyway, so. [He clears his throat and just proceeds on forward, topic change!]

Uh, yeah! It did, thanks a lot. Every little bit helped.

Really? Great! Haha, I'm glad. [ She sighs and laughs, rubbing the back of her head a little bashfully. Talking to kids around her own age was a little more awkward than talking to people a lot younger or older. She was never quite sure how to act. ]

You uh...comin' to to dance with someone? [ She asked, not leering for once, just smirking. ] We're gonna have some great music there. I bet you'll just love it.

That's alright, Brother. You can always help with the set-up if you like? There's plenty of decorations that need to go up and painting to get done. You can help Lover Boy with the building or Eyebrows with the decorations.

If you like cooking there's plenty of damemon that could use extra hands at the stands, or you can even run a game, if you like? [ She smiles, a dazzling grin instead of her mouth full of sharks teeth, for once. ]

No help is ever turned down and no good deed is ever small, right?

Its Brother to me. [ She states, without any inflection suggesting how she felt about it one way or the other. Roze did what Roze wanted to do.

There's uh, lanterns and streamers, paper dragons, paper fish, string lights, poster signs with directions. The stalls need painting and the tarps need hanging.

If you're interested in making more decorations you always can. However you wanna help. No little kids allowed. Just big kids and grown-ups. You think you can make the cut? [ She asks, casting a serious look at the screen. ]
