The emperor's clothes trick!

[Trixie casually strolls out of her room with her PawnChessmon hot on her heels looking flustered. This is because she's only wearing her hat and her cape. She informs him to turn on the communicator and he fumbles with it as she passes through the living room heading for the door.

The first image to appear on the network is of her bubbly blue butt complete with matching moon and stars markings on the sides like a tattoo. The camera pans up and she turns to face the camera with a flourish of her cape and flashing her modest sized bare chest in the process]

Greetings adoring fans! It is I, the Great and Powerful Trixie!

And Trixie is curious. With the city all smashed up are there ANY businesses open? Preferably where Tricie can procure more of those lovely peanut butter crackers they had in the vending machine near the main Terminal?

[not even mentioning the nudity... Because why would she?]

And Trixie feels she should correct you. It is not a Tattoo, but in fact The Great and Powerful Trixie's cutie mark.

Really because it looks like one from here. I think I know a tattoo when I see one.

[Blackarachnia smirks slightly to lean back and display her own tattoos. A red hour glass shape in the middle of her chest and a tattoo sleeve of spiderwebs with a wolf head and an insect head hidden beneath the webbing. ]

So what's a cutie mark anyway?

Very dramatic, it stands out to be sure.

A cutiemark appears on a young ponies flank when he or she has discovered their special talent. Often they aid in a pony finding out what it is he or she is destined for.

In Trixie's case, magic~

So it's a right of passage or something?

Something like that.

When ponies are young they tend to just...stumble upon whatever their special talent is. And when they do the mark appears. Then after that you simply find ways to apply your talent to your day to day life till you find your destiny.

So, their special talent determines their future?

...That's some programming.

Well not always, it just makes it easier to figure out.

Trixie would not call it programming so much as suggestions. After all once you know what your talents are, and what things you enjoy doing the most, why wouldn't you do them as often as possible?

When you put it that way, yes. But, it's not always possible to do what you enjoy. So, what if there was a pony that got a mark in something like robbery or murder? Then what?

Then...Trixie supposes you either become a criminal, or a member of the Royal Guard.

Perhaps if you are a thief you can ply your skills into preventing thefts, or stealing back things that have been stolen.

As for those who can end others lives, even in our land there is need for warriors.

Well, those are options at least.

Do you think there's a limit to what can and can't be a special talent thing or is anything game?

Trixie has seen some people with talents as vague as "Plants" and as lowly as "dish washer."

Trixie once met a pony who claimed that his mark meant he could cut anything with his teeth given enough time...Trixie did not care to find out the validity of that statement.

.....So literally anything. That's some random programming.

Perhaps, or perhaps it is destiny taking it's course.

Destiny is what you make of it and a really scrappy way to go about figuring out you place in life.

Scrap, I know bots that have started wars over something as stupid as 'destiny'.

Then what do you make of having been brought here?

What I make of it? It's just a change of scenery to me. At least it looks better than the scrap heap I was stuck on.

How very unimpressed you are with a world full of talking monsters, magical reality warping and people from all walks of life being forced into awkward and uncomfortable bodies.

You must have been through alot.

That would be putting it mildly.
