>> [Text Message to the Network] <<
[First things First. Bumblebee sends out an urgent message, seeking out his allies. Please be all right...]
Autobots. Do you read? Bumblebee to Autobots.
What's the situation? Everyone make it out??
[Unwilling to divulge further information on an unsecured line, the message ends there. Unfortunately, Bee won't be able to reply for another 20 minutes.]
>>[Video to the Network 20 minutes later] <<
[Scaring the marbles out of knucklehead teenagers is difficult enough when you're the size of a Golden Retriever, but Coronamon manages it just fine. And with flare!]
[He even records the image of those scuffed up teenagers as they make a hasty retreat, their digimon hot on their tail. It's one of the first images showing where it's happening: on a well traveled road near HospiTown.]
[Coronamon kicks at the dirt, sending a symbolic farewell in their wake.]
Yeah, that's right! Turn tail and run, ya good for nothin' lunkheads!
[The D-terminal swivels around, and Coronamon's head fills the entirety of the screen.] Kids, these days. More concerned with intimidatin'' Bits out of unsuspecting newbies than doing our duty. What this world comin to?
[The delinquents might have been able to intimidate a couple of Bits out of other newcomers (already had, most likely), but Coronamon's not the average digimon. Besides, there was no way Coronamon was going to let them ruin his day. He's finally found his partner: Bumblebee. The D-Terminal settles on the young man standing some ways away, clad in an orange and black suit bearing a peculiar red insigniacough Autobot brand.]
Smile for the cam!
[Coronamon toddles forward for a more dramatic shot, and after some prompting, Bee finally indulges his partner's cinematic venture with a celebratory gesture of his own. He raises a casual fist and pats his arm. That's the power of squishy human fists and fire wielding organic creatures, he supposes]
[Sorry, Terminal. Bee's not real talkative. Still, wordless as Bumblebee is, it's clear that something is wrong with him. He's in relatively good shape (aside from the fact that he may be favoring his left foot and he's sporting some smears of dirt across his face and suit. Both of those are his own fault anyway- this new body's a little awkward...). Yet the frown on his face as his hands come to rest over his stomach is perplexed, almost to the point of bewilderment]
H-hey. Whatsamatter? [Coronamon scrambles over, inspecting his partner until a familiar grumble meets his ears. Coronamon's shoulders sag in relief. The D-terminal shudders as he laughs.]
Way to scare a guy. That aint no injury, that's called an empty stomach!
You're hungry, ya goof.
[Hungry!? Bumblebee's stare remains fixed on Coronamon. He used to be a giant robot. How's he supposed to handle this as a human? The feed finally cuts.]

[Oh wait, hold that thought. Coronamon just asked about his partner, so Guilmon promptly drops the subject and bobs his head up and down.]
Mm, Guilmon's partner's name is Takato! We're both from a different world, though, and Guilmon was all by himself for six months. I got my own communication thing because of it.
[Text]
Sorry you got separated from Takato, Guilmon. That must be pretty hard for you. I know digimon partners wait a long time for their Tamers.
[He leans close to the camera, giving a big, toothy grin.]
But that's because Takato was right there in the real world when Guilmon was first born! We just got separated after we beat this big, mean blob called the D-Reaper. It's okay now, though, because we're together again.
[Text/Video]
[Video blares to life as Coronamon's face practically fills the screen. His eyes are narrowed, even a little irritated. D-Terminal's been snatched from Bumblebee.]
You're telling me. You just woke up and your partner was just there? No searching, or waiting?
You're kidding.
No, because Takato created Guilmon! I think he used his Digivice to find me when I Realized, that way I wouldn't get lost or found by any bad people like Hypnos.
[Granted, Hypnos is no longer an enemy to the Digimon, but back then they were!]
[He just stops mid sentence, feline face whipping around to look at Bumblebee. The look on his face is clear, WHY DIDN'T YOU DO THAT FOR ME, BEE?
Bumblebee straightens, hands up defensively. His mouth just opens and closes, looking at Guilmon for help. This partner business was all new to him? How was he supposed to know that was possible?]
[Guilmon shifts in place, looking left and right as if seeking help himself! He didn't realize his experiences would upset Coronamon. Or any other Digimon, really.
But wait, he's got this!]
Guilmon's from a different world where things work differently! At least here you don't have to worry about Digimon dying forever. It's safe and happy.
[Bee isn't paying attention. He's too busy getting the D-Terminal back and typing in a text. Coronamon already knows as much, but the subject of death has never come up. In fact, the reason why Coronamon hasn't been fighting as often as expected was because Bee hated jeopardizing the digimon's life.]
What do you mean? They don't 'die forever'?
Well, when Digimon die here, they turn back into eggs and get reborn. Back where Guilmon's from, that doesn't happen, and they just break into data and usually get absorbed by other Digimon. Most Digimon like to fight each other and absorb more data to get strong, which isn't very nice, but that's just what they're used to.
[Frankly, Guilmon much prefers the rebirth this Digital world offers, especially in light of what happened in November...]
[Video] edit city lol. sorry.
It's the equivalent of a mech canniballizing parts off of other mechs and adding it to themselves. He's been on the battlefield long enough to even see it himself, but the practice isn't any less... well...]
That's barbaric.
Wouldn't want Coronamon to meet any of those digimon in a dark alley.
You must've had a hard time where you're from.
[Video] I do not mind. I do it sometimes, too!
[Guilmon gestures wildly with his arms.]
And Takato had lots of cards to make me stronger! The same with Jen and Ruki with their partners, and because we had our Tamers, fighting was never too scary.
[What goes unsaid is that a lot of those Digimon wound up dying anyway. It's too sad to really think about.]
[It's a concept that Bumblebee contemplates. He still doesn't know much about Digimon and their true nature, but if he can do more to keep Coronamon out of harm's way, he may need to talk to Guilmon further.]
They made you stronger with cards?
Mm, 'cause there's a Digimon card game back home. All Takato has to do is swipe the cards through his Digivice and yell "Card Slash," and Guilmon gets cool powers like white wings that let me fly for a little while. And speed boosts! Sometimes power... There's a lot we can do.
As much as I hate to throw my digimon into a fight, we may have no choice but to do so in the future.
[Especially in light of how Tokyo had supposedly been destroyed.]
[He'd give a demonstration of that fact, but Takato's probably got his D-Arc tucked away in his pocket. Bummer.]
Re: [Video]
Thanks anyway.
[Bee thinks to himself. He frowns, asking the digimon about a concern he's had for some time now.]
You really didn't mind fighting all the time?
[Bee isn't used to having someone else fight his battles for him. It feels wrong somehow.]
[He exhales through his nose, tilting his head back a little.]
Guilmon doesn't really like to fight that much. I'd rather play and laugh with all my friends, but at the same time, fighting's the only way I can protect all the people I care about. That's why I think it's important.
no subject
[That has more meanings than one, for Bumblebee.]
That's the way it was for me and my friends, too.
no subject
[Fighting just for the sake of fighting... Guilmon doesn't like that at all, but in the Digital World, that's just how it was.]
no subject
[And as a lighter, more humorous afterthought:] It also doesn't hurt to have friends to give you bread when you're hungry?
[Yeah. He may have been talking with some of your friends, Guilmon.]
no subject
[He rubs at his belly, which grumbles just a teensy bit.]
...Ah, maybe Guilmon should go grab another piece of bread. You should make sure Coronamon gets lots of food, too, if you can! It's lots harder to fight and evolve otherwise.
no subject
Well I certainly know what to bring you if we ever meet in person.
And don't worry. I'll make sure he gets his fill. Sometimes he ends up eating three as much as I do anyw
[The text is interrupted by a certain interloper - the very same one that serves as the subject of conversation. The same one that was peering over his shoulder at the time.]
no subject
Aww. You don't have to get embarrassed!
[Guilmon leans closer to his communicator and whispers:]
One time, I hate a whole basket of bread in one sitting. Well, more than one time. I'm sure lots of Digimon are like that!
no subject
[Bee is quietly chuckling, though he can only be seen in part because Vanguard is obnoxiously close to the D-terminal, trying and failing to look intimidating.]
no subject
[He cocks his head to the side, blinking a few times.]
But how come? Does he get into lots of trouble?
