Honestly, I'm not sure. In my world it was a little different. Our theory is we were Chosen because we had an interaction with the Digital World when we were younger. That's not the case for everyone here, though.

My world's had a permanent gate for a while now, but normally we were only able to go when the Digital World was in danger. That much doesn't seem different for any of us.
