Tentomon, could you move that a little?
[The feed turns onto darkness and the sound of frantic typing. There's a sound of movement as an insect Digimon moves a way a box. The room it shows seems to only contain a thirteen-year-old boy and said Digimon, if you don't count several computers and heaps of water bottles.]
Thanks. [Koushirou only briefly glanced up at his partner before turning his attention to the computer and finishing up a piece of information.]
[With a sigh he turns his attention to the D-Terminal.]
Hello there. I know I've introduced myself before, but now that we're doing it somewhat in person-- my name's Koushirou Izumi. This is my partner Tentomon.
I know many of you have questions, so I'm going to answer them the best that I can. It's taken a while with how things are going and I haven't been able to reach Gennai-san until recently, but what we have should help.
Six months ago an abnormality appeared across the Digital Plane. We're still working out what it is, but the outcome was the merger of worlds. Whatever it is has managed to reach the connection to all the worlds. Since then the worlds have lost their balance. Earthquakes happen frequently as the worlds shift on top of each other. All of you appeared after the last one, which we feared was going to happen.
The Digital World uses us as a sort of defensive mechanism, this is because the bond between Digimon and Human is great. Normally, the Digital World doesn't call so many of us at one. I believe that just shows how dire our situation is. Every Chosen Child that has ever been born is being called to this one point in time.
Unfortunately, the only way to end things and go home quicker is to fight. We have some leads right now that a few of my friends are out checking on. Gennai-san has also started traveling between the rest of the Digital Worlds to see if there's any information he can gather. We've gotten closer to some answers recently, but I'm afraid we still don't have nearly enough...
[He glances at the computer screen.]
Right now everything is kind of hectic. We're torn between finding the answers and keeping the worlds from totally collapsing. I'm not sure how well it's going to end...
Anyway, please, i you have any questions, feel free to ask them. I'll answer to the best of my ability, but try to remember that we don't know all the details to the situation right now.

So if we're all chosen children...how exactly were we chosen? Or maybe why is the better question
[Pause. The next question is a bit more soft-spoken.] I'm happy to help as long as I'm needed, but once that's done you're certain we'll be able to go home?
[video]
Yes, that's correct. [He sits back to go for a bottle.] For most of us when our adventures were done we had no way to get back to the Digital World. My world's had a permanent gate for a while now, but normally we were only able to go when the Digital World was in danger. That much doesn't seem different for any of us.

Who is Gennai-san?

Gennai-san is a friend of ours. He's an entity that lives in the Digital World and has always been of great help.

That's a little too off-topic.]
Just... Digimon and Human? Is this why those that weren't originally human... became one?
[What does that make her? She's still a humanoid Nobody without a heart?]
video;
The Digital World's been having difficultly keeping stable lately. It could be that the easiest way to bring everyone here was using a similiar framework.

[ Long awkward pause. It's hard to word his questions outloud. ]
Why are some of us "chosen"? It seems like just anyone will do.
Audio;
Honestly, I don't know how it works. For my group it was simply that we'd all seen the Digital World before, but that's not the case this time. It's definitely not random, though. The Digital World took interest in each of us for a reason.

When you've had to fight before, what were you fighting? I mean, I assume that it's not just one-and-done, you defeat a random monster and then you get to go home.

Fighting, right. I take it that's both us and our partners? The details are a little fuzzy, but I'm assuming we don't stand back and cheer our partners on while they do all the physical side of fighting.
( Though in part they might, but Barbara is waiting to hear how expected or not that is from someone who's been here and has the experience. So young seeming, too... )
Two quick questions: what kind of information feed do we have access to here in the digital world, and what other cities can we get out to? I wasn't anywhere close to Tokyo, so you could say I'm curious why this is the central draw point between multiple worlds, if you know.
text
Information Feeds are hard to come by in the Digital World. Right now the city has these and if you learn how to hook up a computer there's some information you can get. Getting into the mainframe of the Digital World itself is incredibly difficult. As for cities, the entire world's open. I know some places from America and Europe are around, but they're not entirely the cities you'd know.
As for why, as Tokyo is where Terminal City used to be it was the safest method of transportation. Gennai-san and I tried making the trip relatively safer when we realized so many Chosen were appearing by Data Streams. We routed all of you to come through into the transportation Terminals.
video;
How many people [he assumes they're people] do you have searching for a lead? I've seen some of the newer Chosens who've taken an interest in combing the digital field for whatever information they can find. They might be able to spot something you and your team haven't. [Perfectly naive, he knows. Also actually kind of worth a shot.]
video;
The Digital World is really dangerous right now. I'd love for you guys to help, but you need to settle in a bit more and figure out how to get your Digimon to Digivolve. We don't want to take the chances of you guys getting hurt because you can't even get to Champion. [He's not saying it condescendingly, at least, and he's being honest. Koushirou's not the sort to want to send out people who can't defend themselves, after all, and there's a lot of high level Digimon.]
[Video]
He doesn't speak right away when he's finished, thinking. The only way to end things and go home quicker is to fight. Well that was to be expected. But so soon?...
And the fact that the people who had been here much longer than they didn't fully understand what was going on was a little bit concerning.]
Sounds like things are just getting worse and worse.
[Gomamon leans back against Hiccup's stomach, tilting his head back so he can look up at him.]
Hey, don't be such'a downer! You kids came to this world for a reason, yeah? To save it.
[Perhaps, but Hiccup can't help but wonder if they chose the right guy when people were being pulled from their homes.]
...Listen- ...I know that you said there are earthquakes happening a lot here, but...that same sort of thing isn't happening back at our homes, is it?
[Video]
[A pause and he shakes his head.] Something's happening there, too, but what is we're not sure of yet. Everything's a chain reaction. If something's happening here in the Digital World then something else is happening in our worlds, too.
[Video]
[Video]
So here's a question. If the bonds between humans and Digimon are 'so great', why's it pulling people who aren't human?

I'm Masaru. Glad to know they got someone smart helping run things!

Eh?!
[ and Koushirou rushes over to grab his D-Terminal from Motimon. ]
H-Hello, Koushirou-san -- Tentomon --
[ wow, this is weird. His brows furrow as he takes in his future self's look. ]
I've met with Jyou-san so far, but not any of the others. But if you need any extra help... [ he trails off a bit. It seems like there wasn't too much the older Koushirou could tell him that he didn't already know, anyway. ] Well, I'll do my best here, too. To help figure out what's going on.
His hair is much shorter, isn't it? And he's taller. That's great, Koushirou-han!
Motimon, don't go off-topic! -- [ but he's blushing, just a little. ]

When this is all over, what'll happen if we were dead?

Do you know what might have happened to my Pokémon...? ( off screen, lalamon can be heard quietly: you're still on about that? yellow ignores the comment. ) Did they just get left back home, or are they somewhere here...? ( she's willing to explain what they are, if needed, of course. )

And you know if you guys need us in the field too we're willing to go out there!
But if you would rather we stick around to help the new guys we can do that too. After all, Veemon and I know a thing or two about being the new Chosen.
Yeah! We've already been giving advice to people.

We may have to take you up on that eventually. It's like I've been saying, what leads we have are few.

The digiworld is kinda like the center of a wheel. I guess with these other digital worlds these other chosen kids know connected to it as the first layer of spokes.
Then, off those spokes is your guys' worlds. They're the 'closest' to the center, so when shit goes down they feel it first.
Our worlds are farther out, maybe connected to other digital worlds as a barrier or layer or something. So our worlds aren't collapsing yet... or we just didn't see it. But they will eventually, like... falling dominoes.
The center world knows something bad is going down... not that I'm saying it's like... a mind or anything, but you know it's the easiest way to understand it I guess. Anyway, it feels something bad about to happen, starts upping digimon births like crazy. Maybe even takes data from all these outlying 'Chosen' cuz a lot of our partners seem pretty tailored for us. At least they're programmed to know us. But yeah, all these new digimon are born and given time to grown so WAM they're ready when it yanks us here to work as white blood cells before things really get bad.
That sound about right?
[He's frantically drawing this entire time, and holds up something like a mix between a venn diagram and a web, which probably looks complicated to most but considering it's Koushiro is probably pretty simple, just circles for worlds splaying out from a center. With lots of nice colors!]
[Video]
[Tsukaimon pops up onto Forte's shoulder, giving him a deadpan look.]
I'M the one who's supposed to fight, ya moron.
BUZZ OFF! I don't care about what YOU can do, bat-thing! [Then, turning back to the D-terminal...] I don't care if it turns into freaking Godzilla! Give me ONE good reason why the HELL this obnoxious cute thing is better than my blaster!
Sheesh, I wait all this time and look what I get...
