[The D-Terminal is showing a new face today, and it doesn't look happy. This little Impmon has been lost for a while now.]

Okay, I think I got this thing working. So what's the deal here? One minute we saved the Digital World, the next minute it's all gone to heck and there's a new big bad Digimon destroying everything? What's the deal here? I can't find my friends! I can't even find my partners!

How long was I out for, anyway!?

[He inhales. Sighs. You're gonna be nice, Impmon. You're gonna be friendly and polite. Even though you're mad. You're gonna be nice.

When he talks again, his voice sounds significantly more calm, though still distinctly unhappy.]

Okay, sorry. Sometimes I lose my head. Uh, Guilmon, Renamon, Ai, Mako... heck, I'd even settle for seeing the cream-puff again at this point. If you're out there, let me know.

[His voice immediately takes a hard edge to it again.]

Not that I'm afraid or anything! I just don't want any of you tiny-brained numbskulls gettin' into trouble while I'm not around to watch your back!

[The message ends. Impmon will be exploring Hospitown trying to find a familiar face, but he won't object to meeting a new friend who's willing to help him out!

Well. He may object. But he probably won't actually mind.]

"Wait, wait, slow down. Heartless? What's a Heartless?"

Where I'm from they're creatures of darkness. They're created when someone loses their heart. All they really do is seek hearts and take them from people. They go from world to world in search of them.

[Evil creatures that hunted people for their power.

Boy, that sounded familiar...

He ignores the pang of remorse that stabs through him.]

"Sounds like a couple digimon I know! It's good you were around to fight 'em, then, huh?"

[ let the past be the past, Impmon! ]

Yup! Good thing there doesn't seem to be any around here.

"Let's keep it that way. Giant digimon blowing up cities is bad enough without creepy heartless things walkin' around too."

[Creepy.]

"And speakin' of. What's the deal with those giant digimon, anyway? Why isn't anybody tryin' to fight 'em?"

No one stands a chance. There are people who have gotten their crests and their partners can go into their Ultimate forms...

But that's not enough to beat those giant digimon.

"Maybe not, but you are lookin' at a bona-fide Mega-level digimon!"

[Beat.]

"... I mean. I can digivolve into one."

[He laughs sheepishly.]

[ heh heh ]

I got ya. Can you do it without your partner, though?

"Luckily, I can."

[It's kind of a long story.]

"I can only digivolve to Mega, though. I never figured out how to be a Champion or an Ultimate."

Is it really important to?

[ all this digi stuff. so many questions. ]

"I dunno, I guess I don't need to. It's just a little weird. I'm the only digimon I know who skipped to Mega without ever being a Champion."

Maybe because you don't really need 'em.
