3rd Lullaby [Video-Backdated to the 10th]

[Hello, Hospitown and Digital World in general. Have a tired but mostly satisfied looking Thunderkitten on your D-terminals.]

Hi, everybody. Just wanted to let everybody know Emmy and I made it to Hospitown OK. And look!

[She turns the D-Terminal's camera around to focus on a rather shy-looking Flamemon. He seems a bit uncomfortable with having attention drawn to him, but he gives a sheepish smile and a little wave.

Fortunately for him, Kit turns the camera back around to herself once she's sure everyone's gotten a look.]

That's Aburn. He's my other partner! We found him on Autumn Leaf Island on the way here. Or maybe he found us. Anyway, he's my partner now too. And anybody who says he isn't real is gonna have to answer to me, got it?

[She briefly gives the camera an up-close stink-eye, as if daring anyone to suggest such a
thing, before pulling back.]

Anyhow, we're in F1 012 if anybody needs us.

[And Emerick can be heard giggling off screen before popping up into view on Kit's lap.]

You can't see it right now but he's blushing. You can tell by the way his tail's glowing!

[Of course Emerick pointing it out is probly only making him blush more, but details, details.]

[ Chika's still a little upset with everything, but well, seeing that Kit's made it to the town safely is still something that's pretty awesome. ]

Hey Kit! I'm glad that you're okay! And your new partner looks pretty cute!

Glad you're OK too, Chika!

And yeah, he is, isn't he? [giggles a little] You can't see it, but he's blushing.

How's he getting along with your other partner? Adding another person to a group can get kinda weird. At least when you start, anyway.

They seem to be getting along OK? Least, I haven't seen them arguing or anything. And Emmy says it's nice to have somebody else around who has hands.

I think Aburn is still getting used to everything, though. He's pretty shy anyway, and after he found out about how he was born, well... I think he kinda feels like he doesn't belong. Even though I keep telling him he does.

Yeah. That's something that... we really need to fix. I think a lot of the digimon like him are thinking like that. We really need to find a way to let them all know that they don't have anything to worry about.

[ Not that she or Biyomon really had experience with that problem, but still. There has to be something that she can do to help with that, right? ]

Yeah... I was thinking about maybe taking them both out for some training together after we'd had a chance to get settled in? And then maybe get a treat after.

Course that wouldn't really help the rest of the Digimon you said about...

[Kit ponders. She's really not sure what to do for Digimon on that large a scale, having been concentrating on her own partners.]

I don't think anyone here really knows what to do about that part, Kit.

[ At the very least, no one is suggesting anything. ]

But the training's still a good idea! Biyomon and I are going to do a lot of training when we get to HospiTown! And that should still help with both of your partners!

Yeah. It's kinda a big problem, cause the digimon are all different. We need to find a way that they can feel good about what they are instead of bad, but trying to find something that'd work for everybody...

[That was the tricky part.]

And yeah, it should. Will be good exercise for me too, after being stuck on the Trailmon for so long.

[ Chika pauses for a moment, deciding to just focus on the last thing for long. ]

I wasn't even thinking of doing the training stuff myself. I mean, it's not like I'd really be able to do a lot against a Digimon. What were you thinking of doing to exercise?

Mostly practicing getting in sync with both of them so we can fight together better. At home it's easy, cause Kat's my twin brother; we just know what the other is gonna do at any point in a fight, so we work really well together.

But here with my Digimon, it takes practice. I mean, it still kinda works, but in a real fight, you don't wanna 'kinda' know what your partner's gonna do, you know? We need to practice together so we're sure we've got it.

Oh. I guess that makes sense. Though... even knowing what our partner is going to do might not help much if there's nothing we can really do in a fight to help. I mean, you're not thinking of punching Ultimate or Mega level digimon or anything, right?

[ Not even her brother could safely do that here anymore, and he used to do it all the time. ]

Huh? No, I don't really do a lot of punching. I might bite or claw one of the bigger Digimon if I thought it'd help; biting the Ramlak's tentacle got it to let go, after all, so it might.

My brother and I were always better at distracting the bad guys, though. Like teasing them or throwing stuff at them to get them to pay attention to us while the grown ups attacked. Might be different if my flupe worked like it does back home, but...

[Trails off and shrugs. It doesn't, so the point is somewhat moot.]

[ Chika doesn't say anything for a few moments, thinking about what Kit said. Distracting the bad guys... that could work. That could work out a lot. Though Biyomon probably wouldn't go for it, right now she was basically a "make him grow bigger" battery thing and honestly that really sucked. ]

That's actually a good thing to think about. If a big, stronger digimon is distracted by us, then our partners can hit it a lot easier and that could change the whole fight.

Exactly! They might stronger than us, but that just means we have to be smarter and trickier than them.

... Course, it never hurts to have some friends who are stronger too.

Yeah. That really will help. But I think that's the job our partners are supposed to be doing. [ Biyomon was definitely strong enough to be the strong one, at least. ]

Yep! They're the ones I meant. We can be smart, and they can be strong.

Well, I mean, not that they're dumb or anything, but.... you know what I mean.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean!

[ Though honestly, there's some people here who aren't really all that smart either. ]

I'm pretty sure that Biyomon's pretty smart, but he can't think of everything when he's busy punching an attacking digimon in the face or something.

Exactly! It's hard to think sometimes when you're busy fighting; after all, if you're not paying attention, you could get hurt, especially when the other guy is really strong or really good.

[Chika giggles a bit at that. ] And most of the time, I think the guys our digimon go up against are really strong. And really good.

So they need all the help we can give!

Yep! I bet they'll be twice as good with us helping them!

Anyway, I should probly go get my stuff unpacked. Talk to you more later, OK?

Okay! I'll talk to you later then. Let me know when you're done? I mean, we could go hang out or something one you're done unpacking and stuff.

Wait a second! That's your new partner? (Give her a moment...) He looks pretty cool, for someone who's on fire.

(Different 'C' word, not the one that starts with 'C' and ends with 'ute.')

Glad everything's OK with you too, Rainbow. And yep! I've still got Emerick too, though.

[Offscreen, a soft, young, male voice speaks up for the first time.]

...It's not real fire. If it was, I wouldn't be able to sit down without burning things.

It's good that you like your new partner. Guilmon doesn't think it matters how they're made because they're Digimon anyway. That's what really counts!

[he says this with a nod and holds up one of his hands as a sign of affirmation. He's cool with this new Digi!]

[Kit nods once in agreement.]

Exactly. It doesn't matter how he was born. He's here now, and he's my friend. That's what's important.

He looks a little scared, though... Or maybe just shy. Is he not used to people?

[Or D-Terminals, as it may be. Guilmon hasn't really considered camera shyness before.]

Yeah, he's kinda shy. I don't think he's really used to getting a lot of attention, and he's still getting used to everything. But he's really nice, even if he is kinda quiet.

Maybe he needs more friends... or maybe bread. I know that when I'm feeling sad, bread always cheers me up!

[He pats his belly as he says this. It also helps him feel super full, that way he can concentrate on playing later.]

Bread is good, but I don't think it'll make him not be shy any more.

More friends might be good though. I was thinkin' of taking him and Emerick out for some training together once we got settled in. You guy's wanna come? Emerick can show you how she can turn into Gatomon now! And Takato can take a picture of us together like he wanted.

But it's a good way to make him happy, right? And that's always a start.

[Though at the offer of training, Guilmon nods. New Digimon could always use advice from seasoned 'mons like him, and it'd be fun to see him in action.]

I don't know about Takato, but Guilmon wants to for sure! Maybe Guilmon can help him train, too, since I've done lots and looots of fighting. Not as much as Renamon, but enough to have experience.

Food's always a good way to make someone happy. And good food always helps bring people together.

And that'd be good, yeah. I don't think he's done any fighting before now, so he'll probly need some help.

[And maybe it would help build up a little confidence too, which would definitely be a good thing.]

Well, Guilmon can fight as hard as you need-- but I don't have to! It'd be kinda silly to evolve all the way to Dukemon when he's just getting started.

[Especially when he's already so timid. Taking it step by step's probably a better route, and more up Guilmon's alley, anyway.]

[giggles a little] Yeah, don't think we wanna go that far til he's at least Digivolved the first time. Then we'll see.

Anyways, thanks Guilmon. I'll call you later to set everything up, OK?

I wonder what he'll evolve to...

[The other Guilmon changed into Kyubimon while he becomes Growlmon...

Ah well. They'll find out eventually.]

Anyway, you can take all the time that you need! Guilmon doesn't mind.

I dunno. We won't know til it happens, I guess.
