[It's a Neku, sitting in his new room, looking.... grim. And thoughtful. Perhaps even seriously considering]

...so is anyone thinking of going with Sakuyamon?

[ Neku had to be over thinking things. Squall could see it in the way he was addressing the network. He probably didn't look all too cheerful either so he wasn't one to talk. ]

Have you weighed the pros and cons yet?

Part of why I asked. I... I don't want to run away.

I see... wanted to hear opinions from all sides.

Yeah, though this Forest is kinda tempting. Just... getting OUT of here, ya know? Does that make me a coward?

[ He shrugs his shoulders and stares off for a moment. ]

Some people aren't meant for constant fights. It wears you down and when it gets that bad everything seems to go down from there. I wouldn't call you a coward. Being a coward is hiding in your office crying when the school you run is under attack.

No I wouldn't call you a coward. I'd call you normal.

If it had been... before... I wouldn't have even asked. Hell, I probably woulda been gone months ago. But I... not just all the Chosen there, but the *digimon* too- we had *lives* there. Just seeing it all gone, like that...

[So similar to what almost happened to Shibuya. He shudders, pulling his knees under his chin, blue eye even darker under the D-T light]

I want to fight, I want to fix things. But I just don't know HOW. If digimon like that can just swoop in anytime they want-

[ Squall sighs softly. Just seeing him like this really seemed to affect him as well. He turned off his D-T without another word to him, but unfortunately for Neku that's not the last he will see of Squall, because a couple minutes later there is a pounding on Neku's door. ]

[It's not Neku that answers, but Terri. The bunny tilts her chin toward Neku's area.

The teen has put aside the D-T, and amusingly enough is half curled around Psycho's shell. For as crazy and not cuddly as the Syakomon is, he is his original partner. He just feels comforted by the mental shellfish.

He glances up, but makes no move to disengage himself from the digimon. It's Squall: Neku isn't as worried about his image]

Hey.

[ Squall moves into Neku's apartment and moves across the room to where he was. He sat himself down next to Neku and awkwardly put his hand on Neku's head. He was looking away while he did so. ]

Hey...

[ So he wasn't a conversationalist, what else was new? ]

They don't give us much of a break, do they.

Not really.

[His voice is low, as if someone might be listening in. And in a child-like gesture he scoots over until his head is pressing against Squall's leg, still not letting his sleeping digimon go. Terri makes her way over, hopping up behind the humans and sprawling out, ear half draped on Neku protectively]

[ Squall tugs a sleeping Kudamon off from around his neck and gently places him around Neku's. Kudamon curls up comfortably and squall just keeps his hand on Neku's head. Every once in a while his hand acts on its own and gives him a little hair ruffle.

He stays quiet as if trying to search his mind for words to say to him.]

You know... this confusion... worry.. this... what you feel right now it... doesn't make you weak.

If you say so.

...god it was so much easier when I just didn't give a shit.

Heh, yeah I guess you'd know...

[He reaches up a little to scratch at Kudamon's head.

You... were kinda in a military, right? How do you handle it, when you don't know what to do?

[ he shrugs his shoulders and frowns a bit. ]

I never thought for myself. They'd instruct me to fight this battle or run into this dangerous place and I'd do as I was told. If that didn't go to plan I'd follow proper protocols to finish up the mission. Always moving two steps ahead. I never thought I just did.

[ he pauses and nudges Neku's forehead lightly. ]

...I wouldn't recommend following in my steps.

I dunno, almost seems easier.

[He shakes his head against the nudge- Neku is too stubborn to ever live a life like that though, that much is clear to anyone that knows him for any length of time]

it just feel like we're treading water here. No real... we're not GOING anywhere.

Maybe you just need to think on it before deciding to go. Sleep on the idea. Do some of that... art you do. That seems to help you think.
