[For all you night owls out there, Vanguard decides that now (just five minutes past midnight in an abandoned house at the edge of HospiTown) is the perfect time to voice his displeasure.:]
As you are all my witness, there is nothing here, there's no such things as ghosts, and if this rickety old house comes crashing down on our heads, it's Bumblebee's fault.
[Bumblebee shines his flashlight back at Vanguard and the D-terminal with an amused smile, Vanguard gives an indignant scoff.]
I'm not scared. I'm annoyed
[Bumblebee laughs silently, patting Vanguard as he moves past. Vanguard murmurs irately and paws his impeccably groomed mane back into place. Ghosts may not exist, but Digimon ghost types certainly exist. Even the small ones are a pain to deal with, dispatched with a good fireball. But the higher level ones? Best to stay away from those altogether.]
Can we just go now?
[Bee sighs. Fine, they can head home, if that's what he wants. Of course, that's when the camera catches a glimpse of something: moonlight pouring in from a window flickers on the wall behind him, like a shadow dashing across the light. Floorboards in the distance give off a terrible groan, wood creaking under something's weight. The orb of light from Bumblebee's flashlight creeps down the long, dark corridor. The beam hardly penetrates the stifling darkness to reveal a room at the end of the hallway, its door half fallen off its hinges.]
[The D-terminal's camera starts to shake from unsteady hands. And as camera focuses, two slivers of light stare back at them. Soft mumbling carries down the hallway as the D-terminal's shaking intensifies.]
[Bumblebee, stricken more with curiosity and wariness than fear, takes a tentative step forward. Bewildered, Vanguard snatches Bumblebee's sleeve]
What're you doing-!?
[As if in response to the noise, the two slivers of eyes disappear into the dark. A voice that is neither Bumblebee's nor Vanguard's hisses vehemently right next to the D-terminal:]
-can't take it from me!
[The inhuman noise that comes from Vanguard is so panicked and high pitched, it's practically comical. His flailing knocks the flashlight from Bee's hand, and the D-Terminal goes sailing with it. Both hit the ground with a clatter.]
[The last thing the feed picks up is the sound of rapid footsteps in the dark. The feed cuts.]

[A dark shadow may be stirring behind Vanguard, though the D-terminal's screen doesn't catch much more of a flicker
of Bumblebee]video
[Blue fire spews out of Gabumon's mouth, and he slams one of his feet down on the floor.]
That's it! We're going there now, Riku!
[Normally, he'd correct him, but darn it, this is just too tempting. So, rather than fuss, the Replica flings his shoulders back, tips his chin up, and grins.]
You heard him. Just tell us where to go, and we'll be there.
video
Whenever Replica arrives, the house will initially look small and unassuming from a distance. That'll change soon enough. A closer look will reveal two other wings hidden behind a thick layers of forest and foliage. Half-dead trees reach high above its rooftop to obscure the sky. The road eventually becomes a dirt path that snakes right up to the creaking from door. It's something out of a horror movie. Which is why Bee had convinced Vanguard to explore it in the first place]
Just sent it to ya. If you've got the guts to show up.
[A minute later, a text message from the same D-Terminal will arrive, though this time from Bumblebee.]
Sorry about that. Vanguard gets carried away sometimes.
video
And here I thought I was the only one. You should see what I've gotta put up with from Gabumon on a regular basis.
[He says this quietly, so not to draw attention from a certain loudmouth lizard.]
So, is the house really that spooky? Kind of hard to believe when the rest of this place is so calm. Almost too calm.
[In fact, once the house slips into his line of sight, he has to stop and give it a once over. Nothing sticks out just yet-- if anything, it seems tinier than Vanguard made it out to be. Odd...]
video - Feel free to make up stuff about the layout if the need strikes you :)
Still, it'd be good to exercise some caution.
We're definitely not alone here.
[If Bumblebee thought it would be too dangerous for the other to come, he would've turned Replica away long ago. Vanguard jumps at the slightest creak and snap, but he doesn't give off the impression they're in mortal danger. He may be afraid of phantoms, but when Bee is in true danger, Vanguard acts like whole other 'beast' in more ways than one. The difference is startling.]
video - excellent :) How far would you say Bee and Vanguard are?
[He stops, having finally reached the start of that dirt path. His eyes scan the terrain, and he winces at the sight of the shriveled up trees. Way to create an eerie atmosphere... It's like one of those haunted houses they show in Halloween flicks. Tentatively, he reaches for the doorknob, and when the door creaks, he blurts out a short laugh.]
So, does this place have cobwebs? Creepy paintings with moving eyes?
[Whatever awaits, he'll slip into the dark, letting the door slam shut.]
video - Maybe past like a lobby or foyer and around a corner.
The moment the front door closes behind him, there will be movement in the dark. A few doors that Replica can see where he stands will creak open exactly an inch. In the near-dark, he may see phantom fingers creeping out of them, gripping doorframes. Like something's watching the trio from within. Once they come too close, the fingers will slip back inside and fade into the dark.]
There are some projectors that play movies at the hospital. They're not used that often. I can show you sometime.
[Bee stops walking. Listens to a faint noise- Was that the front door?]
You just get here?
video
The Replica freezes, gaze snapping towards the door. He clamps his jaw shut at the sight of the hands, and his hand grabs at the nearest doorknob. This is getting weird...
While he figures his way towards them, he'll stop just long enough to reply.]
Yeah, I'm here, and I think I've got company.
H-heh, no way! That was totally just my-- I mean your imagination, Riku. [Gabumon puffs out his chest and grins.] Ghosts, phantoms, all that stuff's fake. There's nothing to worry about.
You do realize that you probably jinxed us, right?
[Silly fuzzball... Well, it's not like they've got much else to lose.]
video
[Of course, in a true case of Murphy's law, the moment Gabumon speaks up, Bee sends a text message. Apparently unfinished.
Further in, more towards the heart of the mansion, a door will be heard slamming. Dare to wander a bit deeper?]
video
[The Replica's breath hitches, and he shakes his terminal, as if somehow that'll fix the feed. Maybe it's just a glitch on his end.
Then the door slams, and both Gabumon and Kotemon promptly jump at each other, temporarily forgetting their bitter feelings. Now, the Replica's not the sort to admit to fear, but even he can't ignore the shiver trailing down his spine. Once the door slams, he picks up the pace, jogging towards the sound of the door.
He stops only once to gaze back at his partners.]
C'mon, guys! I think there's something back there.
video
Can you catch me?
[Once he's traveled further down the hallway several things will happen in rapid succession.
First, a ghostly form
of a Bakemonwill zip right past Riku, cackling. In hot pursuit just a few yards behind, will be one irate digimon (Vanguard) and one human partner (Bumblebee) determined to catch it.Of course, neither Vanguard nor Bumblebee expect Riku to be walking there. If Riku doesn't think fast enough, the whole lot of them will come crashing into each other in a terrible tangle of limbs.]
action-- also, want me to tag our other thread back soon?
And Gabumon? He's too busy laughing his ass off to notice the incoming traffic, leaving him as one fuzzy roadblock.
Better be careful!]
action - it's up to you! I tend to backtag into forever, so i dont mind waiting until you're ready
W-watch out!
[Vanguard on the other hand, tries to come to a screeching halt and crashes headlong into Gabumon with a bewildered cry.]
action
...and then Vanguard comes crashing down, knocking Gabumon clear off his feet. Feeling the weight of a furry cannonball, Gabumon roars, flailing his arms in an attempt to push Vanguard off. Spotting the struggle, Kotemon scampers over to them, trying to reach for Vanguard's wrist so she can help him to his feet.
The whole time, Rep's gaze shifts from the Digimon to the hall...]
Okay, maybe we should hurry up. That thing can't be too far.
action - LMFAO GABUMON. Start of a beautiful friendship.
Darn right it can't be too far, that thieving little-! GET BACK HERE!
action - A FRIENDSHIP BUILT ON FIRE AND STUPIDITY... because Gabumon's a butt.
[Kotemon looks back at her partner, covering the lower part of her mouth with a sleeve. Gabumon, to not be shown up by a fiery fuzzball, grits his teeth and charges as fast as his stubby legs can take him.]
Betcha I can catch 'em first!
And who's the one with the long legs around here?
[On cue, Rep brushes past his partner, sprinting straight towards the hallway. If anyone's got a chance of catching up, clearly it's the guy who's not a cute, cuddly critter.]
