09: Back to Stay [video]
[It's around 5 am or so in HospiTown. One D-terminal's feed opens to the hospital lobby. Some sniffling can be heard and there's a siloutte of a Gaomon. She speaks to someone off camera.]
Guren, she's going to come back, right? We're still around so that's got to mean something. Guren, are you listening to me?
[The Elecmon doesn't say anything but both digimon stand up at the sound of the lobby doors opening. Sure enough, there's Saori in a striped purple kimono. While she didn't look any older, but the air she gave off was different some how. Kiyomi and Guren drop the D-Terminal as they rush over to her.]
It's been a while but it's good to see you two again. How long was I...
You're been gone for three days, you idiot! You got some really shitty timing leaving us like that!
[There's a frown on her face but she doesn't scold him for his language. Instead, she scoops the two up in her arms in a hug before setting them down. Kiyomi manages to pick up the D-Terminal again. Saori looks to the feed and smiles.]
I'm sorry. I didn't mean to make you guys worry. You know I wouldn't leave here until we fixed everything up. Three days here and yet it's been years for me back home. This digital world is so weird.
Saori, what's that?
[She looks down to see what Kiyomi is refering to. Her fingers reach up to pull out a piece of paper from her kimono folds. She turns it over, revealing it's a picture. There's a tall man in a dark blue kimono with dark green hair tied in a braid next to Saori. He's dressed in a traditional kimono as well despite the silver earring and lip ring he wore. In his arms, he carried a 5 year old girl with matching hair color while Saori held onto a boy of the same age but with her hair color.]
It's a photo of my family, Kiyomi. These are my children.
YOU HAVE WHAT?!
[With that, she reaches over to close the feed. One thing at a time, everyone.]

[She couldn't quite express how relieved she was that Saori was still here...especially if Saori had preferred to stay at home with her family.]
[She doesn't seem upset about being here. Instead, she's looks happy. If she could, she'd teleport to where Fluttershy is and give her a hug. ]
[Feeling better about having Saori back, she doesn't mind letting it show how much she means that.]
How are you? You said you were back in your world for years?
[She shakes her head. Focus...]
Anyways, how about you? How've you been?
I-I've been...all right...
[More or less.]
[She holds up the photo again.]
To be honest, I always wanted to be a mother and for a while I thought that'd never happen.
I'll stop by your place when I have time.
Take your time...You should rest up a little since you just got back.

Welcome home girl!

Thank you. Hopefully this time it's a bit more permanent.

Lemme see the kiddies!!!

Alright, alright. [She holds up the photo to show to the D-terminal. And yes, her husband does have a striking resemblance to Laguna. ]
They're twins, now five years old. Yae's the girl and Toshi's the boy. They're a handful but I love them both.

[Squeal]
They are ADORABLE! Oh I just wanna squish their little cheeks and bring them ice cream and toys and get them all hyper before they go home and drive their daddy crazy!

They have enough energy without sugar! I'm just happy I could have them. I always wanted to be a mother for the longest time.

...err. You OK being dragged here again though?

I wish I had an easier time letting go like that. I'd probably be the worst helicopter mom, even worse then my mom. I can't even stand to let go of my adult friends.
no subject
I have to admit it's very hard to do that and it takes a lot of will power. Still, it's the only way they can learn. I learned that from raising my little brother.
no subject
Too bad the little brats couldn't come here with Auntie Harley. A little adventure would do them good.

Welcome back...and hey, congratulations on your family. Can I see the picture?
[Well...he did sound a little bit hoarse; the crying had done a number on his throat, but he just needed to get some medicine for that later.]

[She stood up, ran to him and held onto him tightly. In her rush to see him, the photo slipped out of her hand but Kiyomi grabbed it. Forget etiquette when wearing a kimono. It tore her when she realized her memories of Terminal were gone while she was at home when she came back. Her timing was incredibly horrible. She choked back a sob when she buried her head against his chest.]
Oh gods, Laguna. I'm sorry. I wouldn't have left you at a time like that.

I know, it wasn't something you had control over, but I'm doing better now. Kiyomi, Guren, Raine, and Kiros all made sure I was okay...and they reminded me that sometimes all a soldier like me has is his hope. You said it best, it's up to us to win this war so everyone else can be safe...now it looks like we have even more a reason to keep things together, right?
[He pulled back from the hug and smiled; something true and genuine as he placed a hand affectionately atop her head, enjoying the feeling of just being around her once more.]
So let's cheer up together, alright? I've got a couch, a couple of blankets, and some food with our names on it.
no subject
That sounds real good right about now. I'll fill you in on what happened back there too.

The light forms into a shimmering Crest, Saori's Crest of Light.]
no subject
Well look at that! Looks like I got more to congratulate you on now.

I definitely wasn't expecting that to happen. Got to say this is one hell of a welcome back moment. All the more reason for us to celebrate.
