03; video→ semi-filtered.
[Approximately three days after This transmission, there's another one. Needless to say, it's heavily filtered.
The camera is placed sideways, as Ringabel can't exactly get up. Not just yet. He's in his room in HospiTown, hair, for once, unstyled. Distinctly longer on one side than the other, if anything with it down he looks younger. Softer, even. More easily hurt. There might be a few blue claws poking at the sides of the screen as Biyomon fusses around him.]
I'm so happy you're awake now. That was weird, wasn't it? Do you normally just pass out, screaming like that?
It's the first time it's happened to me. That I remember, anyway. Regardless, the mechanism is transmitting now. Give me a moment.
Okay! I'll be right outside. Make sure I can use it when you're finished!
I will. Thank you.
[Filtered→ Sora, Beastboy and their digimon.]
[There's a small pause before Ringabel speaks. His eyes look quite grave when he does, and the change between his normal flippant demeanour and this quiet sincerity is quite startling.]
...I, and Escha wish to thank you for coming to our rescue. This is... difficult for me to do, as I am not used to being the one which needs saving. Nor am I used to people risking themselves for me. So I apologize in advance if my words come off as flippant... or not enough for what you have done.
But thank you- truly. All of you. I am in your debt, and it is one I will not see unpaid.
[Filtered→ Terra.]
It has been some days after I planned to brief you about this little adventure. or that, I apologize.
...No ARCloner, and no Titamon. To give you some more bad news, we've little in the way of food. There are quite simply no animals or insects, so meat is out of the question. The flora I have observed is strange to me. I've not seen it's like on my world, and thus don't exactly know if it is suitable for human consumption or not. ...And I'm none too eager to try my luck with that, I'm afraid.
Some small silver lining I might be able to afford you is that I noticed fish swimming in the waters of the coast. I've no idea what could sustain them, to be frank. Furthermore, to the North is a structure known as Myotismon's castle. When I arrived, it appeared quite abandoned, though something...
There were tags scattered throughout the castle. Upon finding all six, they converged into another one which I have on my person. Furthermore, something called a "Digital Hazard", a symbol, appeared which terrified Escha. I've a feeling the digimon we're paired with know all about it- you might want to ask your one some questions. An aggressive digimon came from it.
...Otherwise, do try and stay away from roaming digimon. Some of them don't appear to like us very much. Travel safely.
[No filter→ Public]
[And that's that. There's a small sigh before Ringabel's eyes close, and some claws are viewable at the ends of the camera again. It's moved to another room, and there's the sounds of a door shutting. Private transmissions over! This one's for everyone. The camera then shows Biyomon, with a certain garment.]
So, um... I was wondering... Is there anyone here that's good with repairing items of clothing? My chosen... got hurt. Pretty badly, and then got hurt again. And, well... he's got other things to wear, but he woke up this morning, and seems really sad. I think it might cheer him up a little if I could get this... repaired. Somehow. If possible.
[Biyomon holds up a certain top, something which once appeared to be a pretty sturdy piece made of dyed blue sheepskin and white fleece, adorned with silver. Unfortunately, it's nothing close to sturdy now. Something appears to have sliced through the sheepskin on the back, and the white fleece is more... well, red. Very red.]
Um... I can pay you. I don't want him to know about it, though! It's supposed to be a surprise...

You just got in a little over your head, what happened out there anyway?
no subject
Regardless, some of those monsters hadn't seen a human before. I was previously injured from a earlier confrontation, and they wished to see if my arms could detach. If you had not got there with your friends, they likely would have.
no subject
Dude...that's...dude. Not cool. Glad we got there before they flipped you over and tried to make a wish on you like a wishbone.

[There's a small laugh at that. A very bitter one. What a way of putting it.. ]
I, as well. I believe I was too busy eating dirt to catch your name. Would you tell me it?

[Points the camera at a Gaomon who looks surprised, them embarrassed and turns her head away trying to act all cool]
Come on Chili! Smile! He's just introducing himself.
I am glad you are well.

It's good to meet you, Beastboy. I'm called Ringabel.
[And a small smile at Chili, even if she's turned away. A lady digimon! Interesting.]
You have my thanks for both saving me, and being gentle with me when you did, Chili. Oh, how I wish I wasn't knocked unconscious when I met you!

[filters yay! ..and text.]
[An understatement.]
Thank you for your efforts, though. In spite of the cost (and I am sorry you ran into trouble, I really am), this is good to know. Eating random plants to see if they're edible is not a good idea. The fish may simply be on a migration route; if I can ever get an aerial view without risking this "digital hazard", that might help.
It's too bad about the castle. Will you and your partner (her name is Escha now?) be alright?
[filtered;]
Do not apologize. It was simply misfortune. ...Twice. However, as soon as I'm up and about, I'll go on another scout around. I've nothing to prove it; but there may be more of these tags lying about. Perchance they're our route to the ARCloner, or something even better. After all, if Minervamon herself can't just go and get it - there could be quite a route to go before it can be found. Perhaps.
[He's hoping for "even better than the ARCloner", actually.]
Yes. [Perhaps the naming is sentimental. But "Escha" rolls off the tongue so much better than "Biyomon", and it's a link to home. Something he's currently missing.] She's fine, and I will be too, in time. I was concerned I'd not be like to hold a sword again - yet apparently, we heal faster here.
[filters]
If you intend to return there, please take at least a couple of other people with you. There is strength in numbers. I'll go with you myself if you'd like. It seems my original guess that roaming this world alone even with a digimon partner is dangerous and should be avoided.
[Terra wasn't good at organizing this stuff, but he could feel a little guilty that people he'd asked to do things for him, were getting hurt because of it.]
That's good to know. It would take years to relearn fighting with the off-hand. Just take your time and make certain you're fully recovered, alright? There's no sense in risking injury again when not healed up the first time.
[filtered;]
The attacks were nothing. Escha changed, and Escha could handle them all. The Arkdimon... well. That was a bad start, she was afraid; but she'd found her courage eventually.]
I believe I've found everything there has to offer, so my next bout of wanderlust will likely be better spent under your direction, if there's any areas you haven't had anyone on.
[There's a small, weak laugh. And then a cough.]
...Apologies. You sounded like someone I used to know for a moment.
[filters]
For now he assumes Ringabel would see the logic in teamwork and cooperation beyond the individual digimon pairs.]
Currently I've got a bit of a map going that when you're up to it, I'd like to add some details to. You've been there and seen it for yourself, and some details there will help everyone. It looks like soon we'll have most of this continent at least given a good overview, though I still don't know what's in the far eastern areas.
[He's going to find out. Maybe it would be less hazardous for Ringabel to venture there.. especially if he can get the man to take someone with him.]
No apologies needed. I do that myself often enough. You've more than earned a bit of a break, you might as well enjoy it. There's a bit of a beach not too far away that might be ideal to relax at, if you grow tired of HospiTown.
[filtered;]
[It's a good thing Ringabel doesn't know what Terra's thinking. He knows he isn't invincible, of course he does. But being in a position where he needed saving was just weird. At Terra's last words, he at least tries to be jovial.]
If I get sick of these lovely nurses, I suppose I could swap them out for bikini-clad women. I suppose.

But it sweetens the deal, correct?

Nah, that's not what "sweetens the deal". It's me just being glad you're feeling better.

Too bad Vanguard has absolutely no tact.]
Sure you don't wanna just toss it? It's totalled.
...He asked me to. But if I can do anything... or, um, rather if anyone skilled enough could, then... it might cheer him up? A little? ...Maybe?
On a side note, your Chosen needs to take better care of himself. He sounds like a little trouble magnet.
[And at that, she looks a little sheepish. She really hadn't intended to go into what happened, but...]
It was my fault. I-We saw something horrible and... I couldn't move. I was too scared. I'm not exactly good at the... fighting thing, not yet, and he blocked something which probably would have deleted me. So... it's not really about cheering him up. It's more like doing what I can to stop feeling so useless.
[Vanguard's self-assured attitude disappears immediately. Escha doesn't know it, but she's hit a very sensitive nerve. Vanguard's had a terrible bout of feeling useless lately too...
And while the action of saving Escha without a doubt is admirable, another part of Vanguard is just frustrated with it. He won't admit it, but the Chosen worry him. That was a killing blow.]
Why do Chosen always insist on doing that? Taking the hits for us, fighting for us. They have no concept of self preservation.
