Turns out you can go home again [Video]

[And there's Beastboy back in his room in Hospitown looking a little worn out but otherwise alright.]

Hey guys! I'm back! Sorry if Rita was freaking out...probably shoulda thought to call her.

So...are we done with that sleepwalking stuff? Because Chili hasn't sleptwalked since...well it was this whole thing. Like we went through a magic door and on the other side was this place called Star City, which is a city from my world! And more importantly? Titans Tower! It's my home! This totally awesome superhero base!

[He holds up a picture, he drew it with crayons. It looks like a T made out of blue boxes.]

Anyway there were a bunch of Digimon living there and wrecking the place so Jinora, Nima, Chili and I chased em out and...I've...well I've come home!

I couldn't go to my home so my home came to me. It's...it's mind blowing dudes.

Anyway, I need help. Techies, people who are good with fabrics, like repairing and cleaning them. Maybe someone who knows how to replace windows...

I wanna get this place fixed up. Maybe we can use it to keep the peace you know? Like the Titans used to back home. There's still alot of equipment there, big computers and stuff...and I dunno if any of Raven's spell books would work but we can give em a shot.

So...who wants to go on a field trip to Star City?

Dude, then we could totally use some around here. I mean not for nothing but some of these Digimon shops are like...way hyper specialized. I met this one lizard Digimon? All he sold were dice. Like...piles and piles of dice.

...I mean I still bought a bag of them but how does someone live off a shop that specialized?

...Just dice? Seriously?

I mean I've seen shops that just sell armor, or just vegetables, or something like that, but even then there's some variety.

A bunch of different types but yeah...just dice. Go figure right?

I used to run a vegetarian food cart back in our first city before it all got blown up. Not as much call for it around here though so I had to sell it.

Hmm... sounds like a place Luxord would have loved. Though I don't suppose he had any of those plush, fuzzy ones, did he?

Though yeah, I can see how any kind of specialty food place might be kind of a hard sell in a place like this. Never got to see the other city, though so I'll have to take your word for it.

Actually yeah, I bought a couple pairs you want one? I got em in different colors on the off chance I ever get a car or something.

Yeah Terminal was pretty great. We had video games, a candy store, a karaoke club. I was kinda hoping Hospitown might develop a little more but I think we're all just kind of braced waiting to see what's gonna happen next.

Any red ones? Or black ones, if you don't have red.

Hmm... Sounds like it was a pretty fun place. Though, yeah, kinda understandable not wanting to build something when you're worried that some random pissed-off digimon will come along and wreck it.

I got red ones with black dots. Once we get to the Tower they're all yours.

See back home we had this problem too. So many big fights wrecking buildings that businesses stopped wanting to move to our city. So my team and I worked with this fund to cover the costs of destruction. We'd do like...charity events and stuff.

Cool. That's pretty much exactly what I wanted.

Huh... that's not a bad idea. Not sure how it would work back home with Heartless damage, though. Or here, with crazy Digimon on the loose.

Heartless damage' as in 'damage caused by Heartless'. They're these monsters made of pure Darkness that are kind of a major problem back where I'm from, and even though they're more concerned with attacking people, they can still do some major collateral damage. Especially the big ones.

Actually sounds like the kind of thing Raven would know about. If she ever came here I bet she'd love to hear about them. Oh! Raven was my team mate back home. Big into dark magic and such.

How did you deal with them?

Trust me, your friend is better off not knowing about Heartless. It was a small group of guys who wanted to know more about Darkness of the Heart that's a big part of the reason we have such a problem with Heartless back home now. Course, the fact that they weren't exactly picky about how they got that knowledge probly didn't help matters.

And pretty much the only way to deal with them is to kill them. And the only way to do that permanently is with a Keyblade, like Sora has. Otherwise, you swat them in one place, they'll just pop back up somewhere else later.

Yeesh. That's like...totally fitting. How many times have people gotten in trouble trying to learn stuff that shoulda been left alone right?

That's why I never learn! HA!

Learning things in general is fine, though. Our king back then, Ansem the Wise, was really big on it, and it helped make our world a great place to live.

It's when you start doing things like kidnapping people and experimenting on them until their hearts collapse and are consumed by Darkness that you run into problems.

Ansem did, though not the way you're probably thinking. It wasn't him that did those experiments, it was a few of his students, one of whom used his name on the reports to try and cover his tracks. When the real Ansem found out and tried to stop them, they banished him to another dimension.

And it wasn't too long after that that the proverbial shit really hit the fan...

Well, by that point, they'd helped create a whole mess of Heartless, and opened the way for even more to slip into our world. The problem was, they couldn't control them. Heartless, unless there's some powerful force directing them, just act on instinct, like wild animals, see. And once they got outside the confines of the lab, they started to overrun the place.

And when a sorceress named Malificent- who could control the Heartless- showed up, she had a ready made army. She conquered Radiant Garden set it up as her new HQ. The survivors of her Heartless invasion made it to Traverse Town, but they wouldn't be able to go home for a long time after that, when Sora cleared out Malificent and the worst of the Heartless.

Wow...sounds like you got snatched up at kind of an important time...

...but I mean like...you shouldn't worry about that. According to the people who have been sent home and come back you don't miss like...any time at all! You come back the same minute you left.

Actually, everything except Sora's bit happened when I was a kid. It's old news now.

We're still dealing with the fallout though. And the guy who started the whole mess in the first place.

Ugh, those are the worst kind of messes. The kind that linger after years and years that you didn't cause but you gotta take care of.

How's it like the Digital World mess, though exactly?

Well...I mean it's kind of a stretch...

But humans created the Digital World...or at least a version of it. Every Digimon was thought up by some guy with a computer and a program.

So then we get this Digital World that is still somehow digital but we dunno who made it. Makes sense it's probably just some other humans! But this Digital world has gone all funny weird. And it's digitizing everything from living creatures to entire cities.

And even though we had nothing to do with it, we gotta clean up the mess.
