[002 - Video/Action for those hanging around the city ruins]

Whistle while you work~ Whistle while you wooooork~!

[The feed opens to show a D'Arcmon singing happily to herself while she strolls casually through some of the debris from the Beemon attack. Every so often she twirls her sword in one hand and uses it to skewer a wooden plank or some other piece of trash, which she promptly deposits into a trash bag. Looks like someone here is hard at work]

[After a few moments of this, the Digimon twirls on her foot and waves at the D-Terminal]

Kyoukooooo~! I think I'm almost done over here!

[The voice that speaks next is much more even and calm, clearly Kirigiri's]

Your form may have changed, but your personality certainly stayed the same. . .

Well, duh! [D'Arcmon puffs out her chest proudly] Underneath these awesome wings and armor is the same old lovable Labramon that you adore, right?

I'm not certain 'adore' is the right word. [Kirigiri replies wryly] And it's good to know that form has more uses than just fighting.

Obviously! [Unfazed by Kirigiri's dry response (which the Digimon had gotten used to over the past month) she turns on her heel and starts picking up trash with her sword again] Whistle while you work. . . ~

[The camera feed swims for a moment before it settles on Kirigiri again. She. . . looks like she's spent the majority of the day outside, cleaning up debris without a shower. There's dust smudged all over her cheeks and some of her hair is sticking up in odd places, but she doesn't seem interested in commenting on her slightly unkempt appearance. No. . . instead, she launches into other business first]

I still have many questions to ask in my pursuit of information concerning this world and its inhabitants, but I'll start with one that I should have asked immediately upon arrival: has anyone noticed a pattern in people who are drawn here? Are there any similarities shared between us? I have yet to notice a pattern myself, especially with how diverse this group is. And I doubt my observational skills have failed me here.

[She lifts a gloved hand and brushes a few strands of hair behind her ear]

I assume there isn't one; Chosen Children are brought here based on a completely random selection process. It pays to be careful, however, and I'd like to hear a little bit about you as individuals to make comparisons. Maybe there's something we're missin--

[But Kirigiri is cut off by a wad of paper trash suddenly colliding with her head. For a moment, that even expression flickers to surprise, and the camera tilts to show D'Arcmon laughing in the background]

Well, my Master and someone else were Cybertronians before they were turned human here--

[The sound of clicking heels off screen.]

Gaomon, who are you talking to?

I don't know, who am I talking to? [And Gaomon stares at the screen expectantly.]

[The reply comes about ten minutes later, and it involves a Kyouko who looks a little annoyed, though she's trying to hide it]

Thank you for ignoring the latter part of that video and focusing on my question. My name is Kirigiri.

[A beat]

What's a Cybertronian?

At least she gets straight to the point. [Starscream hears some of the irritation, and instinctively finds he doesn't like the idea of others getting annoyed with his tagalong beast. That was his territory.]

[Stare.]

Where did you hear that?

I told her.

[Starscream snaps a glare at Gaomon, whose ears immediately flatten.]

[eyebrow quirk]

Was it supposed to be a secret?

[Starscream sighs.]

Until I had a better idea of the place, thanks to my bout of paranoia.

Now, since I entirely missed your video, could someone tell me what's going on here?

She's asking about what all the Chosen have in common!

[...s-snicker...

He was trying to say something, really, but. He can't help it that was funny. At least he's trying to hide it?]

[. . . jiiiiii]

I hear that.

Weh?!

I-I-I'm s-sorry! It's just... you have to admit..!

[waits for him to answer. expectantly.]

[Wuhoh.

This is some kind of trap, isn't it. W-well best to just be honest, she's got some kind of scary psychic knowing how people are powers so she probably already knows.]

Th-the look on your face right then and the way it came out of nowhere... was really funny?

[she had an inkling. her gaze narrows]

I don't think I'm required to admit to that at all.

[this is her reputation as a COMPOSED AND SRS DETECTIVE on the line, okok]

W-well, I mean you don't have to, but I don't think it's an easy thing to just overlook...

You're normally really composed and all that so seeing you get surprised like that is unexpected. And that's kinda funny.

[wait...] S-sorry. That's kind of terrible, I guess...

[Kyouko opens her mouth to say something else, but D'Arcmon suddenly enters the conversation from off screen]

No way! I think it's really funny, too! She needs to lighten up more anyway!

D'Arcmon!

D'Arcmon... Well. I won't say you're wrong, but... I'm sure Kirigiri has reasons for being the way she is. [Nodnod.]

W-who knows though... right? Ahaha.

I am the way that I am because that's how I was raised. [:T]

There isn't anything wrong with it.

Uuuugh, detectives are so boring. . .

[Kirigiri shoots D'Arcmon a Look at that]

And there you have it! She was raised to be serious, and there's nothing wrong with that at all. [Nodnod.]

And detectives can't be boring, either. Just think about all the cool cases they get to investigate, right?

They'er boring when all they do is read read read and work work work.

Do you really have that much of a problem with the way that I am, D'Arcmon?

[The Digimon grins and slings an arm around Kyouko's shoulders, sending the detective careening off balance in surprise, though she catches said balance again quickly]

Nah. I'm just picking on you!

Hey... you know a little harmless fun is okay, but don't go picking on anyone. That's rude, you know?

[D'Arcmon scoffs]

It's not that rude. . .

Still, you shouldn't hurt other people's feelings.

[Aw, the talking dog isn't a talking dog anymore. But he's not going to question it, because his digimon had already digivolved, too. Devidraman is stomping around in the background.]

There's four of us from Hope's Peak so far now that Ludenberg's here, yeah? I guess four's not a lot but if there's billions of people to pick from it seems kinda strange.

It is strange, and even then that's only four people out of at least one hundred--

[-- she cuts herself off to blink at her D-Terminal, and squint at the Digimon stomping around in the background]

Is that your demon bowling ball back there?

[She would never stop calling DemiDevimon that]

I figured you're more likely to end up here if you...you know, die. [That's still awkward to say.] Because you've got nowhere else to go, right? But I don't even know if most of the people here are dead.

Oh, yeah, that's him. He's a dragon sometimes I guess.

[she gives her head a small shake]

I'm not certain that is true since there are plenty of people who haven't died here. [a beat] Well, it may be true for our world, and I may be the only exception.

[tilts her head a bit]

Did he evolve during the Beemon attack?

Yeah. I dunno. I'll just leave the theory stuff to you. Call me if you need to bust a door down, or something.

Yeah, we were fighting the Devimon. I was gonna fight 'em myself because he was way too small to be doing that, but then this happened.

. . . truly the Digimon are remarkable when it comes to responding to dangerous situations.

[she says this as her gaze flickers over to D'Arcmon, who is still picking up trash]

[The man chuckles.]

I dunno if I would say its a pattern, persay. But...if there were somethin', I think it would be to strike a balance?

[when she responds, she's nearly scowling at the camera, flicking a few pieces of paper trash that clung to her jacket from her shoulders.]

A balance. . . it does take individuals of all types to 'save the world,' doesn't it?

...well, there doesn't look like there's any psycho murderers or anything like that here. Or people that are just causing trouble for it's own sake. That we can tell at least.

Makes me think this whole CHosen thing at least has SOME standards.

[pauses slightly when Neku says that, thinking back to the people from her world she knows are here. she wouldn't label them psycho murderers by any stretch of the imagination, even if they all had killed someone. . . people do desperate things when they're pushed, after all, and she could hardly blame them for their rash actions. but it does make her wonder if the one person from her world who is an unhinged killer might show up at some point as well]

Perhaps we should be grateful for those standards.
