[The video starts some distance away from a scene.

Joshua is sat crosslegged on the floor within Team Fabulous HQ, apparently enjoying some peace and quiet thanks to the fact Hibiki and Elec Man are nowhere to be seen. Floramon sits opposite from him, and the pair appear to be enjoying taking tea together. And yes. Floramon appears to be sitting in the same crosslegged fashion only within a flower pot that Joshua's managed to procure. What's better to a plant-type digimon than feeling the soil underneath your feet, after all?

The pair appear to be chatting, and it's not long before Floramon says something about him keeping his strength up and eating more often - leaning forward to... well, alarmingly, pour tea out of what could be taken as her nose. Joshua holds his cup forward, and takes a sip without even a touch of recoil, as if it's the most normal thing in the world.

There's a bristle of yellow fur just about viewable from the side of the screen, and a very dejected, small voice. The camera turns around, displaying a very saddened-looking foxblob. Viximon, apparently.]

...I think he's going off me...

I haven't digivolved yet. I thought I would by now. Rookies are so cool, and they can fight... I can't fight anything. All I can do is poison things. That's not fighting.

I don't know how I can get him to like me again.

[Gotsumon remains unhappy. He thinks he understands what Viximon's doing! But he's still mad.] I think you should be nicer!

[...That's a grand clarification.]

[Joshua merely blinks. And a slow smile spreads about his face. Autopilot:condescending. Of course. ]

...Hm? While I'm sure you've got so many more pearls of wisdom you're apparently all too happy to bestow upon hapless strangers, you'll need to slow down. Explaining what you're so wound up about might be a start.

[It's lucky Gotsumon is the kind of childish 'mon he is; he can't quite tell what condescension is.]

Your partner's been waiting for you! Be nice to her, because...you're supposed to be a Chosen, a hero! Heroes don't...ignore their partners!

[Indeed it is! Joshua merely raises one hand, and points downward. He traces it a little away from the camera, right above where Viximon is--- ah, where she used to be. Y-yeah. Said foxblob has made a run for it. Sorry, Gotsumon! She's kind of way too mortified to be here right now.]

You mean her, I presume. She ran away while you were mid-rant, right underneath the sofa.

[A small foxblob squeak from off-camera. How did he know?!]

Tell me everything she told you.

[Oh... Oh, even Gotsumon can pick up the ice in the atmosphere now. He stammers a little, stutters.]

You... You're... Sh-she thinks you don't like her because...she hasn't digivolved! So, she... st-stop ignoring your partner, 'cause we were waiting for you for a long...long time.

[Gotsumon's expression is met with the coldest of stares as he listens to the explanation throughout the stammering. His mouth curls downward in the smallest of scowls as the digimon speaks.]

So, since you're an expert on the subject of waiting. How exactly are we to know we can do anything? After all, all of this could simply be you, her, and others like you two taking advantage of the sudden influx of batteries required for your evolutions. It's not exactly like you can prove we're supposed to work together to be able to actually do something here. Or can you? Because believe me, if you've got any answers at all that prove anything other than the same, tired old destiny thing, I'm all ears.

... Not like whatever you come out with can save our worlds from getting totalled without us, of course.

[At first, Gotsumon is hurt. Hurt, and recoiling...but as soon as Joshua accuses them of simply using the Chosen, his hurt turns to anger. More, and more, and more...]

Hey! Stop it! Maybe I can't prove it, like you want, with...with something cold, and simple, but I know I've heard Terra's name since I was young. I know she feels right, and since she's gotten here, I've finally felt...felt whole, and real! She's my partner and I'm hers, and she trusts me and I trust her!

If you wanna take that for granted, or...be all negative, then I feel sorry for poor Viximon, stuck with you. 'Cause we can't choose who our other half is anymore than you can...and fighting against her's the fastest way to make it all worse!

[He's breathing heavily, and the D-Terminal's shaking a little. In the background, there's a call from Terra, a Gots? Gots, what's going on?]

[When Gotsumon starts shouting, at first he seems a little surprised. A hand rises quickly to a certain lock of ashen hair and begins twisting as the little digimon vents, and his eyes turn sharper. If Gotsumon's perceptive, perhaps he'd see that they have the look of someone which seems to be enjoying this.]

If you're in the habit of throwing around wild accusations like that, it might help to be on the mark. Speaking of accusations, you're getting pretty defensive there. All over a suggestion? How suspicious.

[A small smile.]

Perhaps you're just like the Damemon which only look after us in the hope of us taking them with - you've just got one up on them with the fact you got there first. It's not like you can be blamed, hm? It's pretty dull in your world.

[And in the blink of an eye, his hand lets go of the clump of hair, it spinning in a demented half circle at how it's been twisted. And, he places a finger to his temple. His eyes at this point turn utterly venomous. He's done with pulling punches.]

However, let's consider the opposite. If you're being truthful, it's not like it helps any. You said you could hear her name since you were young, hm? It's not like we can hear your names. Tell me... when you met. Did this Terra know you as the one that'd been waiting for so long, that she was linked to, or did she ask your name as if you were a complete stranger?

[Oh. And it appears this is now a conference call.
He merely smiles a little wider.]

Convenient. Now's an amazing time to ask.

[By this time, Gotsumon's near in tears, and Terra enters frame, though only her torso. The little Digimon turns his attention to her, as she starts to ask:] Gots, what is it, you okay?

I-I'm not using you, Terra! I'm not, you believe me, don't you? Y-you're my partner, I'm yours, I-I promise, I promise, I promise...!

[Almost abruptly, the view is shaky and rough, as Terra's pulling the D-Terminal from Gotsumon's hand, and for nearly thirty seconds, it's black, but not as if turned off, as if put facing the bed, where Gotsumon was sitting.

And then, behold, the very angry face of Terra.]

What the hell did you do to my partner?

[Smiiiile.]

Since it's your concern given how highly he seems to think of you, I suppose I'll answer your little question. Your friend contacted me out of nothing and accused me of mistreating my partner because she hasn't evolved yet. I asked him what exactly made him so sure humans were supposed to help out here and he took it as an accusation they're using us.

...Or something like that, it's not like I could pick up much but shouting and crying.

[The more Joshua talks, the more Terra frowns, and it's then that Gotsumon cuts in:]

She's feeling neglected! A-and he said we're using you, he said-- [Terra places a hand offscreen, presumably on Gotsumon's head.]

S'okay Gots. [To Joshua:] You really like hearing yourself talk, don't you? It sounds like you need to have a talk with your partner. If Gots contacted you, then--

I didn't! She asked, I-- [He stops on his own this time.]

...Then it looks like you need to talk to her and stop bullying mine. Just how did you think he'd react when you say something like that? Haven't you figured out that a lot of them are like children?

[This girl shutting up Gotsumon is appreciated. Though his ears do perk at the fact Viximon contacted him.]

...Well, that solves this little mystery.

[Getting lectured (again!) just causes a laugh.]

Since you've both helped me out in your own pretty bizarre way, I'll save us a lot of time here. So. I don't exactly care. I'm sure you've all the lectures and reproaching glances in the world, but I'm not all that interested in them, or your digimon's feelings.

Anyway-

[And something happens! The lights in the apartment flicker on and off, and a weird thump is heard. Perhaps the device gets a little staticy and there's a loud bang. And Joshua's eyes widen. He doesn't say anything, there's just a small gasp and the picture giving out - and the device abruptly switches off.

[As the feed fails, Terra goes tense. Even if the guy does seem like -- and as confirmed is! -- a jerk, she doesn't want anything bad to happen to him. Or his partner. She pockets her D-Terminal.]

Gots, did his partner say what room she's in?

N-no... No, I don't know...

[Then...] ...I'll keep my eyes out. [Nothing more to do than that.]
