What is this thing?

It's called a D-Terminal Twilight. It's a special device that is meant to help you while your here.

[Chuckles] I'm afraid not Twilight, at least none that I know of. But to but it simply, it allows to to talk to others that have been brought to this world. It has several functions, such as voice and video messaging.

Huh? [Looks at the screen... and realizes that the video is on. She blushes in embarrassment] Ugh... whoops. Sorry everypony... or whatever you are. I hope I didn't interrupt anything. I'll just... Ugh... How do you turn this off?

It doesn't work here. At all! It's like there's something about the world that just blocks it off...

It's weird not being able to feel the elements, but you get used to it.

Normally, yeah. I'm pretty good at it, too. Elemental stuff, mostly, but I have a couple of other tricks too. Not that it matters here... man, I'm going to be so out of practice.

So... how does magic work in your world?

[Perks p] Well in my world, magic can only be performed by unicorns, but other ponies can use magical items. Unicorns mainly use magic to levitate items to help with they're work, but unicorns that train especially hard in magic can perform various spells such as changing items into other items, creating barriers, and using magic for offensive purposes.

The greatest magic user of them all is our ruler, Princess Celestia. And I'm her apprentice!

That is so cool. And that makes you one of the best magic users in the whole world, right? You've gotta be really really powerful!

[Blushes and sheepishly rubs the back of her head.] Y-yeah... I guess I am pretty good...

Good enough that your mentor made you a princess as well.

[Blushes more Y-yeah...

...You're a princess because of how good at magic you are?

I didn't even know that was a thing you could do! [Clearly impressed!]

Well... my talent with magic was only part of it. It was mainly because Princess Celestia believed that I had the ability to be a great leader and felt that I had the qualities to be a true princess.

Still, it's really impressive that she has that much faith in you. I'm sure you're going to be a really great leader! I just hope I can be half that successful back home.

[Blushes, but smiles] Thank you, and I'm sure that you'll become a great magic user once you get home.

Well... I guess I'll have to. [If I don't, the world kind of ends, so it's not like he has a choice.] I mean, it'll definitely work out just fine! However strong I'm meant to get, I'm sure I'll get there.

[Blinks at first, but she smiles] Now that's the spirit!

Yeah! Lucas--he's my teacher--is really big on the whole balance thing. A real 'things will be as they are' guy, he's so zen, y'know? So I try to emulate that.

Well does take time to learn things. [It took her most of her life to learn that friendship is a good thing.] But we learn in time, and once we do we can make ourselves better than what we are now.

Yeah... I guess Lucas is like a couple thousand years old for a reason, huh. I may never be that bright, but I'm definitely going to try!
