Guilmon's Totally Prodigious Digistuff 006 [Video]

[The video feed shows a bandaged up Ed who is still smiling. He waves to everyone while Guilmon chows on burgers in the background.]

Hey guys... I know the title says something different but I really don't think I'll remember it if I delete it, so I'll just keep the series going with this. Also... Masaru's fine and the others are recovering. I'm okay, too. Just need a little bit of rest. A-anyways, I wanted to tell everyone about Dark Fields, since they're really dangerous and if you ever wind up in one you should probably know what you're getting into so that you'll be best able to avoid getting hurt as much as possible. And since I've kind of been in one twice and I'm still moving, I think that makes me sort of the go-to person for this stuff right now.

Basically things come in a couple of waves. At first, there's a bright light and you can't actually see anything. Then it fades, and you get a couple of weird sensations. You won't be able to see anything, but you can feel just fine. Well... kind of. The world feels alien, and you're walking on something that's like glass. It's perfectly smooth so you don't have to worry much about tripping, but there's a weird... tinglyness of the world. It's like it's telling you that everything about you being in there is wrong. If you ever end up in a Dark Field--and please try to avoid that it's really dangerous--use that time to get acclimated to everything. Stuff gets really bad in there, and if you're unsettled by how weird it all is it'll get to you really fast.

After that, you'll start hearing a voice. Both times with me it's been related to something really bad that happened in the past. The Dark Field is trying to hurt your feelings with that voice, but it's harmless and just a voice. Just think about something else or don't let it get to you and it can't do much. After a while it'll go away, and you'll see an orb of light in the distance. Take a deep breath, and use that time to focus--you'll probably be tired or hungry, so that's probably the best time to get something to eat or maybe take a short nap. You can't avoid the orb and it'll come towards you, so don't bother trying to run away. You'll just get tired.

When the orb reaches you, it will show you something painful. What it is is different from person to person, but one thing that's been common is that it cuts you. It's not a deep one, but that means the field isn't playing around anymore--from there any vision you get will be accompanied by something that hurts. Like a nick or a bite. Don't focus on the visions, they're not real. The pain is, though... and so are the injuries.

Well, I think you can tell that much. [He laughs, pointing at one of his bandages.]

Anyways, from there things get worse. It's not just a vision and a tiny thing. It's a lot of visions, and a lot more pain. ...The only advice I can give you is 'don't give up.'

That second time I went in there, there was a big vision at the end, too... but I'm still trying to figure out what it meant exactly, it was just a big pillar of light around a digimon with fiery red eyes blowing everything up... [He trails off, thinking about it for a second before he blinks twice and jerks his head back towards the camera.]

Oh! And it seems that crests might be able to get you out of there! [He holds up his crest to the camera.] Mine's the crest of Tenacity, and it shot part of a rainbow path... another crest from outside connected and gave us a way out. I'm not sure what it means just yet, but it's got to be a really important clue, right? And it healed Guilmon's wounds some, too... and mine--but it didn't seem to do as much to me. I'm really interested in these things, I want to figure out what exactly they can do outside of just help digimon digivolve. If we can call on that when we need it then it could help everyone, right?

Erm... That's all, I guess. Just try to stay out of the Dark Fields, but if you have to go in one, keep in mind that none of it is real but the pain... and you can get through pain if you really put your mind to it!

I will be there for them. These things take time, I know.

Both helped me at my lowest.
