[Believe it or not, Marley is actually out and about, walking around Terminal Tokyo with a barely noticeable limp. But she's not the one in charge of the D-Terminal. Hawkmon has it, and is recording Marley while on their walk (though really, it seems like he doesn't realize he's recording, considering the view keeps shifting dizzily from one thing to another).]

--can handle this?

I'm all right, Hawkmon. I can't stay in our room forever.

Well, if you think you need to rest, don't be afraid to sit down!

I'm fine. Honest. And I'm feeling better being outside. Just...

[There's a moment's pause before Hawkmon speaks up again.]

Just....what?

Worried. That's all.

Oooooooh....

[There's the sound of something brushing against the mic, the screen going black before Marley comes into view. She's staring down at the screen, wide-eyed.]

Um...Hawkmon. You realize you were recording, right?

...I was?

[Marley nods and offers a small apologetic smile to the network.]

Sorry about that everyone. We'll try to be more careful next time. And--[Deep breath.]--Everyone who's out fighting, please be safe...

[And with that, she turns off the feed.]

[[OOC: Anyone still in the city feel free to run into Marley while she and Hawkmon are walking around!]]

[Marley's hand tightens a little on her drink and she ducks her head. She takes in a couple of deep breaths to try to help her steady her composure. She didn't want to cry, not in front of Beastboy and Rita, but their own kindness was overwhelming, especially after what she had seen in the Dark Field.]

Th-Thank you...both of you...

[It's an instinct really. More then anything just an urge. And a lack of self preservation allows him to indulge the instinct slipping his arms around her to give her a hug]

First thing ya gotta learn being part of a hero team. All for one and one for all, for better or worse.

[The arms wrap around her and all she can bring herself to do is lean into the embrace. She didn't know what else to do, to say. Beastboy and Rita had no reason to show such care or support, yet here they are, hugging her and telling her that they're for her. She doesn't have it in her to tell them that she would only disappoint them like she did the New Directions. She only sighs and lets Beastboy hug her with a brief nod of her head.]

[After a moment he hops back with a silly grin]

Of course, I dunno how much I'll be able to help, seems like everyone's getting out there and doing more hero stuff then us.

[Rita laughs sheepishly]

W-what can I say? I'm still working on my stage fright.

[Marley takes a deep breath and gives a lighthearted chuckle in response.]

I-It's okay. We haven't...really been doing much in the way of hero stuff either. The crest I got, I wasn't even fighting.

Oh yeah? How'd you get it?

[He leans on his cart while Rita climbs on it to take a seat]

[Oh boy, is Marley's face ever red!]

I...I offered to stay with Donnie after the Dark Field incident because...because it helped with the nightmares...

[the two blink, then Rita looks away blushing while Beastboy laughs]

Aw DUDE! That's so sweet! Like...in more then one way!

y-you two make a cute couple...

W-What? No, I--we're not together! We're just...just friends! Honest!

[Hawkmon just rolls his eyes.]

[The duo laugh, though with Rita it's more like a polite chuckle]

Why not? You got something against turtles?

Maybe she's more into girls. It's common in performing circles.

[Houston, we have a problem.

Marley has completely shut down, her face a most brilliant shade of red. Her gaze drops, and it's Hawkmon who, quite literally, swoops in to help.

And he...doesn't look all that happy.]

For your information, Marley has a boyfriend back home, not that it's really any of your business. And even if she did like girls more, there's nothing wrong with that!

Besides, can't you two tell how upset you're making her? I bet not! So maybe you should back off before you really do some damage!

[If Marley has paid any attention to what Hawkmon has said, she doesn't show it, what with her gaze focused solely on the ground.]

[The duo wilt under his admonishment and Beastboy shuffles like a kid caught misbehaving.]

We didn't mean to freak you out Marley

Yeah, we didn't know you had a boyfriend already.

And...not that it matters, but of course girls liking girls is cool.

Yeah, I've liked girls more for as long as I can remember.

[That draws a double take from Beastboy]

Wait you do!?

[Rita's pelt fluffs and her face burns bright red realizing what she just said.]

O-oh I uh...well...um...not the point...

[Clearly satisfied that the pair had been properly scolded, Hawkmon nods before landing and reaching up a feathery appendage to touch Marley's hand. She jumps slightly before smiling down at her partner. She lifts her gaze and offers a smaller smile to Beastboy and Rita.She lifts a hand to wave slightly before she turns to head back to the apartments, Hawkmon following close behind. After that little encounter, she really just wants to lie down and rest.]
