[The feed opens on a Renamon wearing a white feather and a white scarf. Strangely enough, she's in an apartment and looking rather... alone. well, what can she say, Joshua's been gone for about two weeks now, and Sora's not back yet. So... well, she is alone. But Joshua left her with the D-terminal and her bits, after all. So it's not like she's got no means to live.

The apartment behind her seems to bear none of the markings she made when she was Sorcermon, and she bows respectfully in front of the camera before she speaks. Now she's reverted back to her Rookie form, she's just as graceful, elegant, and polite as she's always been.]

Hello. I've heard from the other digimon around the town about the operation of the castle. You're all so amazing for what you did. Really! I was hoping for your success - and I wish I could have gone along with you, but...

...well.
Um. How are you all?

Ah, I didn't have time to congratulate you on your crest. I'm so sorry! You can really help Neku now, right? That's so amazing of you to be worthy enough to get a Crest so quickly! Only my big sister would be able to do so in such a short amount of time! I'm so proud of you!

I- [he can't, he just can't. So instead he just brings the egg into view, sitting it on his lap]

[A-and yeah. Her usually serene expression changes, and there just might be tears welling in her eyes.]

This is one of Big sis' jokes, isn't it? She's stronger than anyone!!

There... was a Mega level digimon there, and it kicked her... Instead of running away Terriermon still wanted to fight. She even digivolved to Bastemon. But she was just too hurt.

[Seeing Renamon cry and retelling what happened is hitting Neku hard too, and he starts to well up, hiding his face in his bangs as much as he can.]

...A Mega..
Poor Terriermon...

[And her paws cover her face. And she cries, actually audibly. There's a space of a few moments while she just sobs, but eventually her shoulders tighten. And she raises her head from her paws, her eyes hard, but still full of tears - until she wipes them on one of her sleeves.]

do you want revenge?

[She does!]

[He nods... then jerks, as if she's going to run off to find Lotusmon right NOW]

Don't do anything stupid! We'll do this together... when we know we can win.

[You've nothing to fear, Neku!]

I wouldn't dream of letting her miss this. Don't worry.
...Shall I tell Joshua? He's... been away for a long time. I don't know where he is.

[And...]

I understand if... you don't want me around, but I would like to visit her... if you don't mind.

Yeah, probably for the best he knows. Can't really fight without him.

And...that'd be fine Renamon. You can come by now, if you want.

When he next contacts me, I'll tell him. I wish I could understand why he's so... detached. Sometimes I wonder if he'll ever join with everyone.

[And! Thanks to the magic of living in the same apartment block, it isn't long before Renamon arrives. There's a knock at Neku's door. She could walk through it, of course, but manners.]

Hello...?

[Neku opens the door without a word, nodding towards where the egg is resting on the couch]

[And of course Renamon enters, inclining her head to Neku as she does.]

Thank you. I know this must be hard for you; I'll try and keep this brief and get out of your way.

[Seeing the egg on the video was the most emotional Renamon's going to get. It was shock which caused her feelings to be unguarded, something which has long since faded. So she calmly walks toward the thing, not touching, and simply kneeling before it.]

In our village, they used to say that digi-eggs could hear everything that was going on around them, just like we can, when we're hatched. You probably can't see though... you are... well, surrounded by a shell. So it's me, Renamon.

[There's a small pause.]

In case you're confused, everything is well. I heard you stayed behind. Your partner.. he's uninjured, most likely because of you. For this to happen to you though... I'm so sorry. I should have been with you. Next time, I will be. I promise. If you need me, I promise I will assist you. We'll take her down, together, and she will suffer. Like you have.

...I'll leave something with you. I intended... I intended to give it to you some time ago, but I could not find the proper time. And I was worried you wouldn't like it. But now it has purpose. It's proof of this promise, big sister.

[Renamon reaches into her sleeve to pull out something. She's kept it, of course, all this time. And she places it, gently, in front of the egg.]

I'm leaving now. But Terriermon...
We all love you. Please, rest. Come back to us when you can.

[She stands, and walks back to Neku, on her way to the door.]

Thank YOU Renamon, for being her friend.

[he rubs his face awkwardly, but manages a smile... only to perk and look over at a small squeaking sound.

The egg is wriggling]

?!

[She's never actually seen a digi-egg hatch before.]

I think she's ready, Neku..

Whoa!

[he runs over, then after a moment he gestures Renamon over.

The egg bounces a few times, cracks appearing in the shell]

...This happened at the castle? It's amazing. Big sister really is something to hatch so soon; I never would have expected her to do it so quickly...

[She comes over, but her bigsis!worship trails off as she watches the cracks and the bouncing. This is a wonderful moment, and one that certainly doesn't need her commentary.]

[Finally in a small burst of light a little green head pops out of the cracked shell]

Renamon! It was so tiring... I didn't find anything, really, but I fought a dark digivolution and others found out about this virus, I think, they were talking but I didn't understand everything.

I'm ready to stop being a hero now, though. Maybe sleep.

[Of course she's concerned. It comes with her family! But she pauses, crossing her arms about herself, and speaks almost silently. Almost.]

[She would laugh at that, but she doesn't feel so much like laughing. Not after seeing Terriermon's Digi-egg. She merely smiles, and crosses her arms.]

[And before Gotsumon can argue, click! The feed's gone.]

[A green-scarfed Guilmon replies to the video with gusto and happiness.]

I'm doing great, geko! There was this Hawkmon and it was being bad so I smashed it and everything, and I guess Ed is kind of beat up and needs to rest but that's okay because I smashed a Hawkmon and he says he's just fine geko!

[A small wave in return! Ah, this isn't the Guilmon she met in the Market. But there's still a little apprehension, since this one's also got a Hazard symbol.

...She still doesn't know how monsters so sweet-natured can bear such a thing.]

Were there many enemies there?

[Because apparently they dark digivolve into Kimeramon... not that Guilmon remembers any of that, either.]

Tons! I beat up a whole lot of bad guys, 'cause I'm really strong.

[There's a small smile.]

I wish I could have seen it. I'm sure it was quite the sight to see you and all of the others.

Yep! We beat up a bajillion dudes and we were awesome!

I slammed a Hawkmon into the ground and then I set it on fire and that's not even what I did when I digivolved!

[ it's not Ryudamon that answers. not exactly. he has reverted back to Kyokyomon. ]

It would be easy to change that, since we live in the same place.

I'm fine though. Sora has a few scrapes, but I think it was good for us to get out. We both wanted to do something and we did.

[She stares at the feed for a little while, before it dawns on her what's happened.]

Yes, we should... Um, I'm sorry you reverted. Please don't be angry, but I've listened in a little on you and... Joshua. And I thought you should know; he's not around. So you don't have to worry about what he says when you're back. Please, come back and rest. Both of you.

[ he doesn't sound mad or anything about reverting. not even really angry at Renamon for overhearing... ]

We're heading back now. Joshua doesn't bother me. No, that's not right. He makes me angry, but Sora says that's just how he is. And what he said... To not be able to protect your partner is irritating. The thing is, Sora feels that too. I don't think he's used to not being able to fight and protect.

[There's a small nod.]

It must be really hard on him. He's so young, as well...
I wish we could do something to cheer him up. Does he like anything else, other than fighting?

He's doing much better now. I think we'll make a good team.

Sora grew up on an island. So maybe going to the beach?

It's just a feeling... but I think so, too.

That sounds like a good idea. Perhaps we can make an evening of it, and take food and tents? The things ...stars, Joshua told me, which started to appear when the Chosen arrived might be there. They're very beautiful.

I highly approve of this idea. Who else do you think would like to come along?

well, you're his partner. You must know who his other friends are...

If you think of some people, I can ask them while you rest. I'm good at finding people, and there's not a lot of digimon that can get around the city faster than me.

This is a kid that makes friends, or attempts to, with every person he meets. I can't keep up with him.

At the very least, he does consider both Neku and Joshua good friends. Perhaps Aqua as well.
