First Gear [voice]
[Mike starts off serious, which is not a voice he really finds himself using often.]
Mike to Burners, if any of you are here we need to regroup, fast. Not that I can see any landmarks or... well, anything, but we can figure something out.
[He sighs and changes to vaguely amused, because if this is a Kane thing then losing his cool is would be playing right into his hands.]
So, uh... everyone else... what's up with the "no lights" thing you've got going on here? I know I live underground, but I'm not actually a bat. It's gotta be pretty hard to forget to light up an entire city. Or, you know, the sun. From the sound of it, this isn't normal, but if the fighting monsters are normal here then I'm really not sure what to think!
[There's a rustling of clothes as his Patamon frees itself from inside his jacket where it's been hanging out, not that anyone can see that.]
Of course digimon are normal, Mike! You're the one who's not normal here!
...You know what, I can't really argue with you that one. Sorry, buddy.
Well... apology accepted, I guess. But don't do it again!
[There's a rustling as Patamon moves back into his jacket, and Mike chuckles a little.]
Anyway, my name is Mike Chilton, and if anyone has a flashlight or something I could use, that'd be great.

[big green friendly face filling the screen]
Need an escort to the apartments? They seem safe for now
no subject
[rustlerustle ANOTHER APPEARANCE FROM THE RARE JACKET-DWELLING PATAMON] I could take 'em!
[Mike chuckles] Probably best to play it safe for now, but I'll keep that in mind if we run into trouble.
[Patamon grumbles and returns to the jacket, and Mike turns his attention back towards the screen]
Sounds good to me.

You'll get the hang of it.
Oh and if you suddenly end up in this weird alternate universe full of your worst nightmares? It's probably a dark area. Watch out for that.
no subject
... Got it. Gonna go ahead and do what I can to avoid anything like that.
no subject
Oh! Another piece of advice. If suddenly for some reason the world starts getting even weirder? It's usually a glitch. Like suddenly everything is black and white, or suddenly you start acting exactly the opposite of your normal personality. And the glitches seem to last like...a week.
no subject
Huh. Well, I'll keep that in mind. I guess reality itself is trying to keep things interesting for us.
no subject
...Are the Burners like the Wreckers?
[Sorry for the whole missing the point thing, he's just curious.]
no subject
Depends. What're the Wreckers like?
no subject
They are like a family, warriors who look out for each other.
no subject
no subject
What were they like?
[He's not usually that curious, but to hear there are groups of people who create families is a new concept to him.]
no subject
Well, we all worked together to protect the people of Motorcity and to fight against Kane and his soldiers. None of us are related by blood or anything, but I'd trust any of them with my life in a heartbeat. And I have, more than once. So, uh, warriors might be a better word than I thought, now that I think about it. But yeah, unless you want me to talk about everyone individually, that about sums it up.
How about the Wreckers, what're they like?
no subject
Yes...I know that feeling.
I did not belong to them before I came here, but they were a group of warriors on a planet far from Earth. They stood by each other to fight in battle when no one else could. Only two are here...but one called Wheeljack made me one. I do my best to stay by his side as friend and family.
You know how corny that sounds?

...Underground?
[Voice]
[Voice]
It does. Someone caused all the light to disappear, we're...trying to fix it.
[Voice]
Ah. The "big bad digimon woman" the other guy mentioned?
[Voice]
[Voice]
Any luck finding her?
[Voice]
[She shakes her head.] We're all having enough trouble seeing our whiskers in front of our faces. ...Metaphorically.
[Voice]
[A pause because. Whiskers. Is he talking to an actual cat trapped in a human body instead of the metaphorical one from back home BUT HE SAID HE WOULDN'T BRING IT UP AGAIN SO HE WON'T.] Right. It's pretty hard to find anything in this, let alone fight it. I'd offer to help if I thought I'd be any good, but without a car or a weapon I've got enough to worry about just staying put.
[Voice]
Fighting Digimon doesn't usually turn out well for not-Digimon. I'd advise against it anyway.
[Voice]
Let me handle it for you, duh! That's what I'm here for!
Well, that is an option. You're looking a little small there, though.
I can hold my own, you wait and see!
[Voice]
[Voice]
So you'll turn into a bigger bat-thing?
I'll turn into something else! It'll be awesome!
... You know what? Alright. Sounds cool. Can't wait to see it. It's way past the point where I get to argue about stuff today.
