First Gear [voice]

[Mike starts off serious, which is not a voice he really finds himself using often.]

Mike to Burners, if any of you are here we need to regroup, fast. Not that I can see any landmarks or... well, anything, but we can figure something out.

[He sighs and changes to vaguely amused, because if this is a Kane thing then losing his cool is would be playing right into his hands.]

So, uh... everyone else... what's up with the "no lights" thing you've got going on here? I know I live underground, but I'm not actually a bat. It's gotta be pretty hard to forget to light up an entire city. Or, you know, the sun. From the sound of it, this isn't normal, but if the fighting monsters are normal here then I'm really not sure what to think!

[There's a rustling of clothes as his Patamon frees itself from inside his jacket where it's been hanging out, not that anyone can see that.]

Of course digimon are normal, Mike! You're the one who's not normal here!

...You know what, I can't really argue with you that one. Sorry, buddy.

Well... apology accepted, I guess. But don't do it again!

[There's a rustling as Patamon moves back into his jacket, and Mike chuckles a little.]

Anyway, my name is Mike Chilton, and if anyone has a flashlight or something I could use, that'd be great.

Right on. So long as you trust in your partner you should be fine. The Digimon here are stronger then we are.

You'll get the hang of it.

Oh and if you suddenly end up in this weird alternate universe full of your worst nightmares? It's probably a dark area. Watch out for that.

I do say so, I've seen it first hand. Human plus baseball bat vs. adult Digimon? The Adult Digimon wins every time.

Oh! Another piece of advice. If suddenly for some reason the world starts getting even weirder? It's usually a glitch. Like suddenly everything is black and white, or suddenly you start acting exactly the opposite of your normal personality. And the glitches seem to last like...a week.
