[The feed clicks on to show the D-terminal in a dim room, and from a pretty funny angle. Lopmon's not on camera, but he's trying to shove it into Kovu's hands, and Kovu's shoving it right back, trying to keep himself off the camera too.]

C'mon Kovu, there are people worried about you! Say something!

Why would they be worried when they're all mad at me?!

How do you even know they're mad at you? You wouldn't let any of them talk! They'd only be mad at you 'cause you haven't talked to any of them for so long!

[Kovu suddenly rushes forward, his jaw and goatee now framed in the upper portion of the screen. His snarl can only be partly seen, but it's perfectly visible.]

All right, smart guy, how do you know?!

[Lopmon stumbles back, and the D-terminal falls to the floor.]

You turned it on?!

Kovu?

So you are here. I met friends of yours, but I haven't see you yet.

I'm glad I can finally speak with you.

Hey Kovu, it's someone who knows you!

[Lopmon picks up the D-terminal, and he's pointing the camera at Kovu - who has definitely recognized Nala's voice.]

...How...

N-Nala...I...

[He can't even find the words to say to her. He'd never even really spoken to her.]

[She shows a smile, one of her soft and caring ones.]

Hello Kovu.

[Her smile fades into a concerned expression, her Kudamon moving to peek over her shoulder at who she was talking to.]

Are you alright?

Is that the guy you were talking about, the one that is your daughter's boyfriend?

Yes, that is him.

He seems a little different from how you described him.

[He blinks, trying to think of what he should say.]

I...I'm fine...

[She nods, though her expression says that she is choosing not to press it but she doesn't quiet believe him.]

Do you mind telling me if there is anything you've learned about being a human that might help me?

[That's it. The question is so far off what's bugging him that it makes him growl.]

That's it?! You want me to give you pointers on what to do?!

[He doesn't know where this sudden anger is really coming from, or if he's even mad at her. But he's gnashing his teeth, and his heart is beating faster.

From off screen, Lopmon's voice can be heard.]

Hey, Kovu, how's yelling at her supposed to help anything? None of this is her fault!

Lopmon...just stay out of it.

[Kovu's tone is dark and threatening, and the Digimon can be heard growling a little himself.]

[With little more than the shift of her shoulders and a slight tightening to her face it's clear she is no longer addressing Kovu as just Nala, but as the queen of the pridelands.]

You said that you were fine, if you don't wish to be honest with me I am not going to force you to do so. It will only have meaning when it comes from you willingly. I asked such a question to change the subject and because I could honestly use your assistance as I have yet to speak to another lion or lioness here.

Now, if you want to keep saying you are "fine" know now, I'm not going to force anything from you, it's a waste of my energy. If you want someone to speak to then I would be happy to do so, if you would answer the question honestly.

[Despite he clear frustration her expression softens again, looking both worried and understanding.]

Don't think that you aren't worth caring about. That was no simple pleasantry to get to a question... the question did not exist until I felt that changing the subject would be the best course of action.

Kovu, I don't know how easy or hard it is for you to accept, but I do care.

[Now he knows where Kiara got it from. But he doesn't know what to say. Yet again, he's not sure if he's angry, or confused, or just depressed - and the mixture of emotions just makes it look like he's in pain.]

[She sighs softly, the mother in her taking over the queen in her, making her soften even more.]

Kovu, will you tell me how you are doing?

I...I can't.

[That's it. How could he tell someone else how he's feeling when he doesn't even know himself? All he wants to do right now is turn off the D-terminal and never touch it again, but Kiara would never forgive him if she learned he'd hung up on her mother.]

Alright... would you like me to leave you be now?

[The question was made out as an offer, one to give the other some room and let him not have to deal with her. She didn't understand why, or what was going on with him, but she wasn't the rash lioness who had pushed into a fight with Simba years ago, for not just explaining himself. Besides, that wasn't her place with Kovu.]

Y...yeah.

[The word comes out more as a sigh. Lopmon looks at Kovu, more worried now than even when Kovu was talking to Leomon forever ago.]

Very well, I hope we can talk another time Kovu. I would like the chance to get to know you.

I will leave you be now.

[she followed Kudamon's directions in turning off the feed, not wanting to burden him with her presence any longer at the moment.]
