MEMORY SEQUENCE 001 - VIDEO
[There is a view of intense brown eyes peering right up to the D-Terminal, which widen as the screen activates.] It is glowing!
[The eyes draw back, startled, to reveal a face with a good deal of frown lines for his age, a scar under one eye, and long braided hair, the rest of it tied back in a ponytail. He looks offscreen to where his partner, Armadillomon, trots into view and sits beside him.]
That's right, you switched on the video function. [Seeing his confusion, Armadillomon elaborates,] Now you can talk to the others!
I can? But I do not know where to begin, or what to ask. There are so many things I do not know. [Still confused, his attention is back on the screen again.] If anyone is listening, I have just arrived here. This spirit--
--Digimon--
--is calling itself my partner. I do not understand his explanation of this world, nor did I understand all of the guide...
[Armadillomon pokes his face into the screen.] Connor doesn't know what computers are, or what the internet is, or even electricity! I thought everyone knew that.
Apparently not. [Connor's reply is clipped, brisk, as though already losing his patience with his new partner. He tugs the odd shelled creature out of the way of the screen and addresses the communicator again.] If anyone is able to provide me with a better explanation, I would be grateful. [He inclines his head.] Thank you.

SLAMS INTO THIS also video you know
I'm Zack. I've been here about a week or so? [ He glances off screen to Dorumon for confirmation, who just nods and resumes doing whatever dumb thing he's doing now. ] Can't tell you much, other than we're here to help save these little guys and the Digital World. Don't know what from, but I guess it must be a pretty big deal if they're calling for heroes, right? [ like him. he is a hero can't you tell. ] Did you not get the memo from that hyperactive digimon that really wanted someone to play with?
video
That part I understood. [
And he may or may not have played with Culumon to humour it just because.] The part I do not understand is what the Digital World is, or where. What are-- "computers"? And all those other terms? [WHAT DOES A COMPUTER COMPUTE. And he's guessing the internet isn't for catching things...]no subject

[Granted, Connor is imagining a machine with levers and pulleys for putting letters and paintings in. It seems like it would be pointless and inefficient.]
He's right. What you're using right now is a computer! You're sending and receiving pictures and sound, and that's how you're talking to the other person.
[Connor crosses his arms, still perplexed.] The more answers I hear, the less I understand... How can a machine do such things?
no subject
Yeah, this is like a mini computer you can carry around with you. [ His last question has Zack making a face. Wow, Connor, ] This isn't really my area. Sorry, buddy.
no subject
[Or whatever you call people who work with these things, he has no idea.]
Thank you for the information, regardless. [but wow don't call him "buddy" he just met you and this is crazy]
no subject
There's probably some tech guys around here that can explain it better. [ He shrugs, smiling, ] No problem, though. So where are you from that has no electricity or computers?
no subject
The United States of America. And you?
no subject
Never heard of it. I'm from Midgar myself. [ everyone knows about Midgar, right? ] You know it?
no subject
[You don't sound European tho. :|a ]
no subject
...I have a feeling we're not exactly on the same page here.
no subject
Nope, I'm sure it's not part of the Digital World! Could be you're both from different places entirely.
no subject
[ but now he's curious, ] Hey, quick question. Were you in the middle of something before you were brought here?
no subject
Why do you ask?
no subject
Just wondering. Seems to be the trend around here. [ Mostly. But from what he had heard so far, most people were in the middle of something when they were pulled here. ] Not sure if that means anything, though.

--But we're partners! You can't leave before you help us out.
[Connor frowns at his Digimon impatiently, who looks crestfallen.] And as I have already explained to you, I have other causes to fight for as well. I do not know this place nor understand it -- I am a poor fit for whatever task I have been chosen for.
no subject
Look, man, I know it's hard just being thrown into all this, [ not for him, for the most part. It was confusing, but if they need him to help out then he's going to help out. It's not like he has anything to do back home now, ] but they picked us for a reason, right? The sooner we get this settled, the sooner we can go home. [ ... well, the sooner you can go home, anyway. ]
no subject
I suppose.
no subject
You want to trade? [ THIS IS A JOKE that Connor probably won't get. ]
no subject
I think I will do well enough with my current partner.
no subject
Worth a shot, I guess. [ Zack laughs, earning a disgruntled little noise from Dorumon, who mutters something about having a partner who will take things seriously because he is apparently Angeal 2.0 or something. ] Well, good luck, Connor. I'll see you and your partner around, probably!
no subject
nope.]And to you as well.
