[The feed cuts on, showing one scruffy, somewhat scraggly, and slightly worn out Kratt. He's been working on the city every day and tonight, decided to sit around on the network afterwards.]

Hey Hiccup if you're around, maybe after all this is over with we can finally sit down and look at that notebook you've got? So far I've noticed a lot of Digimon are similar to all the creatures I studied back home, and I'd really like to see if that trend continues.

[He rubs his chin in thought- looks like a couple fingers have bandaids around them -and then looks back at the camera with a little gesture.]

And anyone who's had a partner digivolve, I'd like to know what their normal stage is and what they digivolved to? I'm just trying to figure out a couple things for myself regarding the process. [Let's face it, for a biologist like him the whole thing was a little nonsensical, but cool, and he wanted to see if he could figure it out.]

Thanks ahead of time, to anyone who replies! [And he reaches forward to cut the initial feed- wait it looks like that wrist is wrapped up in some kinda brace-?

Mega, that's the end of the digivolution line, right? [At least, from what Sylvia was able to tell him.] Heh, you're the first Digimon I've heard of that's been able to do that!

So what's Matrix Evolution like? Is it anything like regular digivolving?

Mhm! It's the strongest form a Digimon can get to, but before that there's Champion and Ultimate. Guilmon has those forms, too.

[But since he asked about Matrix Evolution, Guilmon bumps one of his hands over his chest.]

And Matrix Evolution's when Digimon and their partners both evolve into one big, strong Digimon. When Guilmon turns into Dukemon, we get a bunch of armor and a long, red cape. It's like being a super cool knight! My other forms aren't really like that, though.

You evolve together? [Didn't even know that was possible! But if there's a human involved, well he has an inkling but has to find out more, first.]

Alright. So if you don't mind, tell me more about your other forms?

Mhm! We both wanted to fight together really, really bad, so I guess the Digital World made our wish come true!

[He's probably not the best guy to ask for logistics, but t makes sense to him.]

Anyway, Guilmon's other forms are Growlmon and WarGrowlmon. Growlmon's an even bigger Guilmon with horns and silver hair and big spikes on his arms! And when I'm WarGrowlmon I'm even bigger and I get a bunch of cyborg parts including jets that let me fly.

But I could show you if you wanted to see. I'd just have to go grab Takato real quick!

[It sounded like his other forms were fairly similar, at least until mixing in the human. He would like to see them, but-]

Don't worry about it too much, Guilmon. I wouldn't want to bother Takato. [He may be busy after all.]

You can show me next time? I think studying Digimon is what I'm gonna be doin' most of the time here. [A grin, and he looks up in thought.] Like an extension of what I did back home.

Hmm, okay. I guess it can wait a little while.

[There's the sound of giggling, and he adds--]

Besides, Guilmon would need to make sure there's lots of room first!

[One of the side effects of evolution: it's hard to fit into cramped spaces. With that said, Chris' words pique Guilmon's interest, and his ears twitch.]

But what kind of things did you do back in your world? Guilmon wants to know!

Hah, yeah, the room would be nice. [A lightly wry smirk at that, then a brighter smile.]

Oh, I studied animals! All kinds too, to investigate their behavior, and habitat, and what it's like to really be the creature.

Be the creature?

[GASP. He throws one of his hands over his mouth, for this sounds really, really incredible!]

But how do you know something like that?

Oh-ho, it's pretty awesome. [He grinned with one eye shut, holding up a finger of the non-braced hand.] A friend of ours back home invented something called the creature power suits. With it and a power disk containing information on a given animal, we'd be able to transform into the animal!

We used it to further science, although. [A soft laugh, a little sheepish sounding, and a shrug.] More often than not they were used for creature rescues.

Suits can turn people into animals?!

[He stares wide-eyed into the camera. That's gotta be the coolest thing he's heard in a long time.]

And you used it to rescue animals, too? Does that mean you're a super hero?

These special ones can, yeah.

[The superhero remark reminds him powerfully of his own dragon 'mon, and it's with a humored eyeroll that he replies.]

Not in so many words, but I guess some can look at it like that. We've had to do a number of rescues in our time, particularly with villains about that want to mistreat animals and use them for their own gain.

Villains being mean to animals?

[Guilmon's eyes narrow, and he lets out a low growl.]

Why would they want to do things like that? Guilmon thinks they need to stop!

I agree wholeheartedly. [Chris' eyes are rather steeled for a moment, before they soften as he sighs, running a hand back over his hair.]

Unfortunately, not everyone has the same love of animals that my brother and I do. These villains all kind of exemplify the different ways people can not care about the creature world; one wants to eat them, one wants to use them in fashion design, and one doesn't know any better, while also wanting to use them for his own gain.

We've defeated them time and time again, but... [A little glance away.] I'd just as rather have the problem not be there at all.

Mm... well, Guilmon might understand eating if they didn't eat too much. Digimon in Guilmon's world are kind of like that, too-- they fight each other and then absorb data to get stronger. But why use animals for clothes?

[And in what way? Models? Actual materials? Guilmon scratches his head with his claws, just trying to sort it all out.]

I wonder if they'll ever learn...
