[The feed is Cam, and he's walking while he talks, looking through one of the in-tact marketplaces, so it seems.]

Hey, huge favor to ask. Can anyone who got here with...some kinda music get in touch with me? I just wanna make a copy of it on my D-Terminal. 'Course if the thing you had it on got fried, I can show you how to transfer it over.

Kinda need as much as possible, as soon as possible. By, the 15th at the latest.

Thanks, to anyone who does, I'll, uh... [He thinks.] I'll make it up to you if you do, swear.

06: Marshmallow test runs? [video]

  • Dec. 8th, 2013 at 8:48 PM
[The feed starts with Saori and Kiyomi, her Gaomon, in the kitchen behind that cafeteria. Guren's holding onto the D-Terminal.]

I don't get it, Saori. Isn't still too early to be making stuff for this Christmas holiday?

Yes, Guren but it's a test run. I have to admit it's been a while since I made this sort of stuff and for a lot of people on top of that. And hey, you should've told me this was recording!

[She clears her throat.]

Yes, I'm planning on making hot cocoa mixes for everyone. I do have a few possible flavors like peppermint, spiced and even caramel and sea salt. Let me know if you have a preferred flavor, want to request something I didn't mention and/or if you want extra marshmallows or not.

Oh, speaking of marshmallows, they should be ready to cut now. Kiyomi, can you get the powdered sugar mixture we used earlier?

Sure thing, Saori! [She gets off the kitchen stool and walks off screen. A few seconds later, she can be heard and there's a sudden clatter and gasp. WHOOSH! A huge cloud of white flies up and covers even the D-terminal screen. Saori can be heard coughing as Kiyomi apologizes many times and a human hand reaches over to wipe the screen clean. ]

For everyone who has just arrived recently, I'm Saori and it's very nice to meet you all.
[The feed cuts on, showing one scruffy, somewhat scraggly, and slightly worn out Kratt. He's been working on the city every day and tonight, decided to sit around on the network afterwards.]

Hey Hiccup if you're around, maybe after all this is over with we can finally sit down and look at that notebook you've got? So far I've noticed a lot of Digimon are similar to all the creatures I studied back home, and I'd really like to see if that trend continues.

[He rubs his chin in thought- looks like a couple fingers have bandaids around them -and then looks back at the camera with a little gesture.]

And anyone who's had a partner digivolve, I'd like to know what their normal stage is and what they digivolved to? I'm just trying to figure out a couple things for myself regarding the process. [Let's face it, for a biologist like him the whole thing was a little nonsensical, but cool, and he wanted to see if he could figure it out.]

Thanks ahead of time, to anyone who replies! [And he reaches forward to cut the initial feed- wait it looks like that wrist is wrapped up in some kinda brace-?

So, who knows anything about AI and/or fixing some seriously delicate hardware? Both, even. Got a buddy of mine who fries like an egg in sunlight here and I'm hoping to get him up and running like the good ol' days. My nest egg seems to have disappeared from the last time I was here, but... I'll do whatever I can to pay you back for your time. Errands and stuff.

Seriously, I would really just appreciate getting ALFRED back. It's weird not having him around. You know?

Who the heck's Alfred?

You've seen her cool glasses? That's him!

[Yeah, were you expecting a new arrival? Yes? No? Maybe? Well, whatever the case, here is now a video feed playing on your screens. It is incredibly shaky and three quarters of the screen is covered with something purple, but it is a video feed nevertheless. Clearly, the recorder making this is not adept at handling the D-Terminal, or maybe its something else entirely.

From the first line, its clear that it is indeed something else entirely.]
C'mon, you should at least say hello!

--I'm not sure if that's a good idea.

[The second voice is very male-sounding, although quiet and trying his best to be as polite as possible even though there is no real need to be.

From near the mic there is a huff, presumably from the first speaker.]
How are you gonna talk to anybody if you won't even say hello?

More talkings and finally, a proper introduction. )

I do hope that you weren't one of the foolish ones that decided to go charge headfirst into that mysteriously appearing castle.

I suspect you were, so I should instead wonder if you gained any major injuries from your little adventure and perhaps inquire about anything you learned from such a trip.

Hey, hey, you should ask her if she brought us back a souvenir or something!

...What did I say about interrupting me?

Not to?

Please keep that in mind for the future.

How many techies do we have here? Serious question, hecklers need not apply.

I ask because I've got a big ol' project for anyone out there with experience in programming, handling large and delicate amounts of data, physically building computers or anything in relation to that. I've got a friend that should have come here with me, but he didn't since everything electronic goes kaput when we arrive. A thousand bits says he's still where he should be, I just have no idea how to get him functioning.

So, like I said, anyone who wants something to do—well, or wants to get paid, because I will definitely pay you whatever is within my power to do so for the help, or otherwise exchange valuable commodities (such as self-defense)—reply here. Thanks.

[ See here for details on what she's hoping to restore and our options on how it could go! I have no specific time frame or anything like that in mind, so don't be afraid to tag in. ]

[Hi Terminal. It's Cam. He's sitting in bed, with his left arm elevated by several pillows. It's also in a blue cast, which is elaborately decorated (with room to sign) with wing and arch designs, and some doodles reminiscent of Lucette. Thanks, Neku. Besides that, he doesn't look too bad. A few scrapes and scratches, but not as bad as others.

There's his usual nerves, of course, though.]

Hey, um... Everyone...

With everything that happened, I don't know if you all remember, but I, uh. [What do. :c ] 'm Cam, me and...Iori, my old-- ...one of my old roommates. [Because Hope's gone now too.] We found the Dark Zone that's...on Terminal Island. We kept its location a secret because, ... we thought it'd keep people from running off and getting hurt.

[Like Marley now. How guilty does he feel for having to find out secondhand that she was there? Looks like that thought makes his face scrunch up; he sighs and closes his eyes...then opens them.]

We screwed up. And since she's not here anymore, I...screwed up. I should've told everyone, so we could...try and research, or...something. [How? He doesn't know, he's a pretty stupid kid.] It's in the Underwater Cavern. After what happened before, uh...please don't...rush in, I don't want anyone getting hurt.

[Pause. He reaches forward with his good arm to turn it off, but-- well... It falls back and pulls out his tag and crest from inside his shirt.] ...I don't know who else got one of these crests, or if they got them to work, but mine...it did. They really digivolve our partners again.

[NOW he reaches forward to turn it o-- ........again hesitation. When he speaks now, it's...softer.] My girlfriend, Maya...she's here now, um... f'anyone saw when she arrived, on the feed, uh... if any of my friends want, answers...

[No, no, no he can't say it this publicly. His eyes shift, uncomfortably, and he sighs, and he turns it off.]

Are attacks like this commonplace here? This has to be the second one I know of so far.

[Nothing can pull Malcolm out of a mental breakdown quite like an attack on the city.]

If they are, has anyone thought of putting together protocols on how to handle future attacks, such as evacuation routes for non-combatants to safe zones such as shelters and the hospital, setting up a defensive perimeter so that damage could be kept at a minimum, coordinating attack teams to push back attackers from the city, sending out scouts to gather information that could be helpful, those sort of things? I think it could prove to be useful to have some sort of plan instead of merely reacting when things come our way and hoping for the best.

I do think this is something worth discussing and even if you don't agree with me or think you have nothing to add, I do want to hear your thoughts on the subject. I know most of you probably have no idea who I am, but it was my job where I'm from to keep the people on my ship safe and to extend that to anyone who asked for our assistance. I cannot just stand by and let people get hurt when there's something that can be done to stop it.

[The feed opens up with Alexandria holding her crest up to the camera, so all you'll get for a moment is a big

Once she takes that away, though, she begins to speak.]

Research log, current date July 2. Making this entry public to pass findings around, as this concerns more than just me. I'm not fucking explaining this twice, though, so you all had better fucking listen up.

This is called the "Crest of Desire". It's apparently some form of power-up based on human emotions. There's a couple other crests floating around now- I've heard Courage and Friendship. The problem is, mine came out of the body of a defeated enemy as it was disappearing- From what I've heard, that's not supposed to happen. They don't leave parts of themselves behind, and those parts definitely aren't supposed to be tailor fucking made to the people who killed them. It's supposedly part of a set with our Digivices, which means it's connected to the force that brought us here, as well.

I think we're officially at the point where we deserve answers that our predecessors aren't telling us. I think I should note that some of these previous Chosen have Digivices completely unlike ours- While ours can't do shit, these people have a Digivice allowing them to take a much more active role in granting power and support to their partner. If we're truly here to help protect this world and support our partner, why have we been given the most useless device for it?

After talking with Gazimon, even she has agreed that something stinks about all of this. Nothing about this makes any sense. All I can recommend is that you don't trust this world. Don't trust any Digimon who aren't your partners, and maybe not even those. Those previously-Chosen, either, except for maybe that couple who came in here like the rest of us. Most importantly, do not trust this world. The odds that we've been lied to about our purpose here keep getting better every day.

Anyone who can bring me information about their Crest, how it was obtained, its meaning, and any signs of activating its use would be appreciated and paid for their trouble. Anyone who can bring me information about any other anomalies between what we have been told and what we've experienced, appreciation and more pay if it can be verified.
