[The memory ends after that, and Penguinmon and Sonata are seen sitting in Sonata's room, Penguinmon shaking his head with an exasperated look on his face. Kids today.]

Did you seriously have to do that?

Fakes! Fakes! Grumbly was cheating.

[A little girl who a few might recognize is up on the feed, early in the morning. Looks like she's in the city.]

Hello! With everyone coming and going, a lot of you might not know me, but I'm Hikari Yagami, one of the earlier Chosen Children. With my brother and the others out looking for clues... [And leaving her behind.] I'm sort of...a home-base, he called it.

He told me since some of you are restless here, you can help Koushirou-san. He's trying to get data for a device to shut down the Dark Fields, but he's also trying to research that virus we heard about, so he can't get it himself... That's why my brother told me to use that mission board the Trailmon set up! We need at least four people each to go to the four Dark Fields and get data from them.

You don't need to go inside, don't worry! Just have someone get close enough to stick a data-gatherer in and the others keep any wild Digimon distracted.

[A very tiny pause.]

Gatomon and I can help, if anyone needs it. Just don't tell Taichi.

[ooc: What Hikari's referring to are these missions here for the last week of August, recently put up. This will be important for September's plot.]

[Okay. So since Fuko won't put herself onto the network willingly, it's up to Penguinmon to get the job done and make the others aware of what Fuko's been up to. Consent for the recording is dubious, Fuko doesn't even seem to notice the camera's running. Instead she's busying herself with another starfish carving, slowly but surely adding to her small mountain. A few times she winces, her bandaged hand clearly seen. She's been using a bad blade for some time now.]

Your hand hurts.

It doesn't hurt. [Obviously lying, but she keeps at it. Without Tomoya harping on her, Fuko's fallen back into bad habits.]

You should take a day off.

I can't do that, I still don't have enough.

How do you not have enough? Our bedroom is crawling with them.

I have to make a lot more of them.

Just how many do you need?

You're joking...right? [Twitch. Twitch.]

Why would I be joking? [Fuko is always serious.]

And what are you going to do once you've carved enough?

I'm gonna pass them out.

So you won't willingly talk to people...yet you're gonna give them each a carving? [And the no answer from Fuko sends Penguinmon past her breaking point. Vigorously rubbing at her temples, she quickly turns to the camera.] Do you people see what I'm forced to deal with here? Can someone else babysit her for an afternoon or a week? I need a break.

You talk a lot like Okazaki. [STILL CARVING]

Greetings, Citizens of Terminal Tokyo! This is your local Trailmon Job Agency doing its monthly rounds! We've a lot of jobs to fill and more people than normal. Hope none o' you youngins were out here for a vacation! Man-- I remember the good old days of running free, yes ma'am. Now my gears are all rustin' and it's a hard to get on chuggin'-- but never you mind all that!

Since there's a lot of new folk around here I best get'ta explaining, yeah? Beginning of the month or so we post a bunch of jobs. We Trailmon spend a while setting 'em all up nice and organized for you lot.

All ya gotta do is sign up to do it. Remember there's limited spaces for each, so don't be riding the slow'mon about it!

[A young girl comes into focus. She's staring straight into the camera and siting cross-legged on her bed. There's a poster of a guitar hanging behind her.]

Hyokomon, do I have to?

[Offscreen, Hyokomon can be heard saying Yes, you should do a proper introduction. Get to know some of the other Chosen Children. Maya wrinkles her nose briefly, and then smiles for the camera. It's a little over-the-top.]

Hi, my name is Maya Matlin and I'm stuck here like the rest of you. [She drops the smile.] There. Can we be done now?

[There's a sigh from Hyokomon and a I wish you wouldn't be so before the feed cuts out.]

[To anyone who didn't know Sonata too well, it might not have struck anyone as odd as to how quiet she had been lately. After all, they hadn't met her when she was an energetic wild child, who could be found dragging her Digimon partner too and fro. That had been before her friends had left, though. At first, it had just been Makoto and Orine who were gone, but soon after that... Yuuko left, too.

With everything that followed soon after, Sonata's been too busy sulking upset over being the only 0048 member left to truly bother anyone; aside from when Rise came over to cheer her up, Sonata hasn't, well, really been talking to anyone, which surprisingly includes Penguinmon... who has been debating how he feels about this.

Today, though, is a little different! Her friends may be gone, but that doesn't mean Sonata hasn't been counting the days until now, and for a specific reason, as well.]

Today's Sonata's birthday. [A long pause, and...] Sonata is 12 now- that means I've been in 00 for two years! You had to be 13 to audition, but Sonata sent in an audition anyway... I failed the selection round, but that didn't mean Sonata was going to give up!

[And really, adults are useless, and Sonata's the Hide and Seek champion, apparently.]

Sonata made a lot of friends... and some of them came here, too- Makoto and Orine... Yuuko-san, too! But they're all gone now, and it's not fair! Why did they get to go home? Why not Sonata, too? ... Sonata wants to go back, too. It's not fair. I wanted to have a big party and have them come, too.
