[ Action/Video/Text/Audio ]
[ In the middle of the night, every room in the apartment building gets mail slid under the door, each apartment receiving black envelopes addressed to whoever lives there, Roze having gone out of her way to sit and gather up the name of every Chosen Child there, as well as the ones in the Crested housing and the rarely seen like Koushirou. Everyone who can receive an invitation does, delivered by helpful Damemon who can get to where Roze cannot.
Everyone. Every boy, every girl, every 'bot.
On the broad side of the plain black paper in gold ink handwriting is the recipient's name. On the other side, on the sealed flap, is the name Roze Ichishi.
Inside each envelope is a single hand-painted card with hard printed text at the bottom detailing an event soon to transpire. ]

Many cultures celebrate the end of a year and the beginning of a new one.
We should celebrate this time together.
Celebrate our successes, learn from our failures.
Resolve to do better in the year to come.
The festival is a formal masquerade.
You are encouraged to dress up, not required.
The goal is to have a good time.
There will be traditional festival games and food.
With help from the damemon, we hope to have fireworks to open the year.
Please join us, and even if you do not:
Happy New Year!
All those interested in helping, please message me.

Emerick- she's my partner- read me the invitation so we'll be coming. And we could probably help with some stuff if you needed us to.
Just one question, though: what's a 'masquerade'?
[ Video ]
Yes, I could always use help. Its not going to be a slap-dash mess of spontaneity like my other stuff. This is serious, so all hands appreciated.
[ She pauses for a moment, considering and her head tugs to one side rhythmically, a Kotemon dutifully brushing out her hair on one side, an Impmon braiding it on the other. ]
A masquerade is a theme for a party where you dress up and specifically, wear a mask. You conceal your identity until the final hour, when everyone takes off their masks and reveals themselves.
Its not meant for deception or anything, just for fun.
[ Video ]
What kind of stuff do you you need help with?
[It's about then that she notices the two Digimon fixing Roze's hair.]
Oh, hey, you've got two partners?

*He's not, really. But when can he resist a little bit of teasing?*
If you ain't swamped with volunteers yet, you know I'm always up for lendin' a hand.
No offense to your parties or anything, ain't like that at all. Just...this is gonna be different. Real fairy-tale if I can manage it.
You better dress up. I mean it. Really dress up.
And you got my word that I'll dress to the occasion.

[Audio]
Did you get an invitation?
Yep.
Does that mean you're invited?
Yep.
Dude, I wrote everyone's names on the damned things too, so they couldn't go all 'uhhh, I didn't know it was for meeee herp derp derp' and bail for no reason.
Yes its for everyone.
I've been at damned invitations so long my fingers are all cut up and busted.
If you don't show I'mma fuckin' kill you.
Dead.

What's a mas-queer-ade?
That's mas-ker-ade.
[Duo huffs and sits back a little. The face of a little boy is now viewable.]
Well, what is it?
no subject
Its awesome is what it is.
Its a huge party, you dress up and wear a mask. there's free food and drinks. You dance, you play games and you have the best time you possibly can.
'Least that's the plan. Whether or not you have fun is up to you. You just gotta wear a mask and mingle with people.

[It all sounded so great until the end. He's still adjusting to all these new people, so that...doesn't really sound like a great time to him.]

My partner and I shall be attending your gathering. I must ask however, what does a masquerade entail?
no subject
Hm? Oh. Wearing a mask. In a masquerade you conceal your identity until the final hour, then unveil yourself at the stroke of midnight and beginning of the new year!
Its symbolic more than anything, meant purely for fun.

Re: [audio]
Not even a good one, since its not held on the right day and was kinda just an excuse to absorb someone else's holiday.
Celebrating the new year is about symbolism more than religion. Everyone can appreciate celebrating a clean slate.

Ugh. I don't care. Do whatever. I sent you a friggin' invitation. Everyone got one, whether I like 'em or not. So if you wanna go, then go. But don't put that weight on me. If you want to go, then do it. If you don't show up because of me, then all you're doin' is tryin' to make me feel guilty, which still makes you the bad guy.
If you show up, don't start any trouble. i don't care about the rest.

My partners have told me I should let you know that I plan to attend this? They say I should go and see what it is like... and they can be rather persuasive.

I'm tryin' to promise a totally respectful event. [ She ducks her head and laughs, rubbing the back of her neck awkwardly. ]
