014 | [Video][Dated after he arrives in Hospitown]
[So...getting his ass kicked in Tokyo sure did brighten his day. Fleeing isn't exactly an Autobot trait he really likes exhibiting, and with all that went down on New Years Eve...
And all that he LOST there...
The feed clicks on, showing him sorting through what he could grab on his way out--His blanket from Fluttershy, the keychain Sora gave him, a pair of boots, a sweater...and what looks to be a small book with bunnies on it. But none of that was really what he was looking for. He must have left it behind...
After awhile, he gives up, grabbing his jacket.
It wasn't important now.]
I don't know about you, but I'm tired of bein' told I gotta do somethin' by guys who aren't my Commander. If this world wants me to do my job right, can't say tryin' to off me is the right way to do it.
Try sweet-talkin' next time.
....
Anyway, figure if this is how they wanna play this, then we might as well be ready. I'm headin' down to train with my group, get the terrain familiarized. So when the next giant Digi-thing decides we're not up to par, we can shove it up their tailpipe.
Anyone needs me, I'll be at the city limits.
[Private to Ratchet and Bee]
Gonna need to rendezvous with ya.

[Action]
Ever hear of self-defense? Pretty much it. Ya want your partner to be able to hold his own if ya get separated, right?
[And at Bee's stance change, his own does too, hands flexing themselves in a more open, almost defenseless. But...he's a Wrecker. He's known for his all out attacks.
And it's shown in that almost...overconfident way of positioning himself.]
Heh, if you insist.
[And then, he pounces towards Bumblebee, ready to throw some punches. Just how fast can the bee fly?]
[Action]
[Too bad the fight's already started, Coronamon.
Wheeljack initiates the action with the true strength and explosive flare of a wrecker. And Bee just barely manages to get his dukes up before it's coming right at him.
If he were in his own frame, he might try to slip under Wheeljack's strike and into his guard, dealing hits of his own. After all, his autobot body is made for maneuverability- to dodge enemy fire, to slip through enemy lines, to avoid detection. It's weighted in his upper body and grounded solidly by weighted mechanical calves. Balanced.
IF he were in his own frame, he could fly indeed. But Bee isn't in his own frame. And the dodge that he does pull off is awkward enough to throw his whole stance off (PRIMUS!). The male human's center of gravity is higher. It's in his upper chest, a terrible thing to discover in the middle of a fight. The dodge even looks uncoordinated enough that Coronamon stands up on his feet in alarm.]
Hey!
[For the moment, Bee strafes to his right to clear himself some space, hopefully before Wheeljack can deal any more strikes. Even sparring, Wheeljack has enough strength to clear knock Bee on his aft. If he gets the chance, he'll be dealing jabs to the other-- one left and one right. They're less to damage and more to test reflexes and fighting styles.
Test Wheeljack, that is. And his own body.]
[Action]
One thing about the way Wheeljack fights, though, is he never lets up once he's in the fray. Those arms soon get back into position, leaping towards him like a spider. Testing. To see the kid's speed. He would have never done this if he felt that Prime's Scout couldn't do it.
But he's smart to get to the right, because it takes a moment for him to regroup, turning and rolling his shoulder. There's a smirk on his lips though, wrists shaking back and forth. If you looked close enough, those eyes were dancing. Wheeljack, for a rare moment that only a few had seen, was having fun.]
C'mon Wheeljack, don't let up!
[She's right--he doesn't have much time to react as Bumblebee shoots those jabs at him, his arms going up as blocks.
So that's his style...fast, sharp jabs.
Interesting.
He retreats back a step, taking turns with jabs as Bee dishes them out, seeing just how the Scout guards himself as well. His punches are definitely slower, but there's a lot more weight behind them.]
[Action]
His arms are sore even where he's successfully blocked Wheeljack's punches, and his shoulder hurts something fierce (when had Wheeljack landed a hit there?). His human muscles ache from being pushed this fast and this far for the first time. But Bee fights on because there's a glimmer of excitement rising up in his chest with every labored breath.
Attacking, missing, retreating, dodging, sidestepping, strike- hit! Whatever pain he feels is only temporary, fading with each rush of adrenaline surging through his blood. Everything else is background noise.
Caught in the whirlwind of a fight, that same wild glint in Wheeljack's eyes is reflected right back in Bumblebee's.
Driven by impulse and experience, Bumblebee breaks his pattern and whirls around in one smooth move, leg extended in a spinning side kick.
For the first time since Bee's arrived, he's forgotten that he's not in his own world, he's not in his own frame, he's not missing any part of him. An instance of clarity. All that's left is him, Wheeljack and the competitive desire to win.]
[Action]
You can't tell from the energy of the fight, but Wheeljack's more than impressed with Bumblebee so far. Speed was definitely this kid's game, and he could play it well, new body or not. More punches missed than they hit, and it didn't take long before Wheeljack could see the strategy going on here.
That moment their eyes lock, Wheeljack knows he's picked the right sparring partner. He just never thought it'd be from Prime's scout. He had to admit he didn't give the bot much of a second glance.
That certainly changed now.
The kick connects, and the Wrecker stumbles back some, almost losing his balance, and DEFINITELY losing the advantage he had.
If you want a hit in, Bee, now's your chance!]
[Action]
He sees the opening. He takes it.
The built up tension and intense focus finally finds an outlet. He's moving forward the second his feet touch the ground. He leans into the stride, taking his forward momentum with him into the swing.
His fist makes solid contact.]
[Action]
But where there would normally be cursing and yelling, there were grit teeth, in somewhat of a smile.
Why hadn't he looked into this kid's fighting before? Who knew a Scout could pack a punch like that?]
I...I like it, Kid. You're not bad at all.
Could take on a Wrecker, that's for sure.
[Action]
[Absentmindedly, he opens his mouth for a retort, lips moving ("You're not so bad yourself.") until he realizes that nothing's coming out.]
[No time to dwell on the thought, because Coronamon chooses that moment to come between Wheeljack and Bee, as if they were still fighting. He sneaks in between the pair, paws out and looking rather frazzled.]
All right all right, break it up! Break it up!
[Action]
Words weren't needed for any of it. Bee, who couldn't talk, and Wheeljack, who always said the wrong things...none of that mattered in a spar. Maybe that's why Wheeljack liked it, and wondered why he hadn't seen it in the Scout before.
Although that ends when the Coronamon makes his entrance between them, holding up his hands in defense to it.]
Hey, hey, nothin' like a good spar, right?
[His glance returns to Bee, smirking.]
C'mon, let's go grab some fuel.
[Action]
As exhilarating as this has been, he has to shake out his hand too. His knuckles smart from hitting a
brick wallsolidly built fighter. (Sometimes it feels like humans do just about as much damage to themselves as other people.)Bumblebee perks up at the suggestion, nodding. Boy he could use a bite- he hadn't known he was hungry until Wheeljack mentioned it. He curls and uncurls his hand before reaching into his pack and retrieving the D-Terminal. He holds up up to Wheeljack in emphasis. Maybe his voicebox isn't up to talk, but he's always found a way to communicate with the others.
He'll send Wheeljack a message.]
Where you thinking? Cafe?
[Action]
He reads it, though, a lip slowly curling up.
Pfft.]
I got somethin' better.
C'mon, kid.
[An arm wraps around his shoulder as he starts walking, nodding for the Digimon to follow.]
Ever hear of a burger?
[Action]
[Bee raises an eyebrow. Burger? He just shakes his head slowly at the taller man. He gives Wheeljack a questioning look as they walk along the path together. His body's scuffed up and sweaty and a little sore, but he still feels pretty energized.
All he's had is hospital food since he got here, save him Wheeljack][Action]
It was refreshing.
To the perked eyebrow, though, he gives a smirk.]
Trust me. Ya won't want anythin' else.
That's for sure. It's like half his diet...
[Action]
Least when we get there, we won't have to worry about Decepticons paying a visit.
[No crashing energon mines, clashing with vehicons- just sitting down and having one of those ... burgers, they were called?]
[Action]
[It's been great, really.]
[Aw Bee, you're starting to make him miss those times. The only downside? No burgers. Speaking of, he's leading the Scout along, eventually to an area that, by all accounts, looks like it was made for cars to drive through.
Drive Thru, get it?]
Wait here.
[He looks at both Bee and the Digimon. No need to weird up the place while he goes ordering burgers.]
[Action]
BADUM CH!He just gives Wheeljack a thumbs up.
Weirding up the place? Hey. Look at this face. What trouble could Bee possibly get into while you're away getting delicious foods? What do you take him for? Miko?]
[Action]
He knows what trouble them human kids get into. Sorta. Either way, he retreats into the restaraunt, leaving You and Him to look up at him with soft smiles. It was hard, making conversation with Bee.
Like...did you just talk normally? What did you even start with?
Thankfully, it doesn't take Wheeljack long to come back, two bags in his hands. Guess he bought in bulk.]
Miss me?
[Action]
[Also, Bumblebee may not be... exactly where Wheeljack left him when he returns. In fact, he and Vanguard are hovering over a group of rowdy children and their digimon playing outside. Just watching.
They're still within sight of the entrance. He didn't wander off completely. That counts for something, right?]
[Action]
And boy, let him tell you about them blue shells. He experienced them IRL.
When he comes back out with the bag, his eyes immediately dart around for the Scout. Swear to Primus, Bee. He can't leave you alone for TWO SECONDS (you're guilty of this too, Wheeljack, what are you talking about). Upon setting sights on him, he walks over, chucking the bag at him.]
Hey, bug. Here.
[Action]
Though, just to explain what was compelling enough for him to wander away: Blip. Text message to Wheeljack.]
Remind you of someone?
[He nods his head at the children, one of which stands the tallest and straightest. His idea of play involves telling
orderingthe other children how to play properly. He is agitated because there's always one kid who never wants to do what he tells them to do.Hmmm...]
[Action]
At the message, though, his eyes flick up at the group, giving a quick study.
And at the little maverick in the corner, his lips curl up.]
Kid knows what he's doin'.
[A hand wraps around Bee's shoulder, ruffling that hood.]
Doesn't always play by the rules, but gets the same results.
[Action]
How did I know you'd say something like that?
[He may stay standing for a bit longer to watch the kids, and as Wheeljack's arm is resting around his shoulders. But he'll eventually settle down on the curb because he's not real picky about where he refuels.]
Give them some time. Maybe they'll be good friends.
[Action]
Hear Scouts are good with that kinda scrap.
[And when Bee takes a seat, Wheeljack's soon to follow, opening his own bag of burgers. He sets the D-Terminal in front of him, to provide easy access for any answers.]
Yeah? You sure about that? Sometimes kids like that don't settle too well under command.
[Don't mind him if he already works his way into his first burger.]
[Action]
Not so sure. Maybe they just need a chance.
Why do you think this one wouldn't do well?
[Action]
Some bot-...kids never change.
[Almost a slip up there. Whoopsies.]
